Critically-acclaimed creator Gilbert Hernandez and artist Casey Jones begin a 6-issue run! Black Canary's had it! After one exhausting adventure after another, she's ready for some downtime. But first she's abducted by an apelike creature in protective body armor — the caveman bodyguard of industrial entrepreneur Simon Stagg! Meanwhile, Barbara is "bothered" by an old acquaintance...

Well, that certainly was an interesting plot twist there. What do we know about this guy and Babs?

Anyone else think ape-guy reminds them of Bane and Canary from earlier issues?

Also, the artwork is getting a little better - yay. Canary no longer looks like Buffy lol.

She didn't look like buffy four years ago and not now.Canary's back to her first costume with a new look.

There were a couple issues there were she looked like buffy in the comic (her face, not the costume).

So what? People need references for drawing. This one Wonder Woman comic artist draws Lois Lane like Courtney Cox.

Well that's a twist.

But they don't need to copy another comic - jmho (which is not to say that they did that, just that it is as if they did). Plus it made Canary look 16.

But the 'so what?' is that in my opinion the artwork stunk in those ones and I am liking the current much more. :)

I have to admit... when I saw the issues 48 and 47... Black Canary did look like Buffy... lol!

What about that guy in the mask that looked like the guy that Black Canary fought earlier???

Does anybody know about that guy???

By the way i wanna know... how old is Black Canary and how old is Barbara (just curious cuz i got a ton of books but I never know their age)

And that ape guy kinda remind me of "King Kong"...lol

I have been reading a lot since the show came out. I recently got about like 20 for Christmas. and DC is giving me free ones!!! :D

Hopefully I'll be up to date on stuff. But so far I really like the bookI wanna know wat happens next. Who is that fire-electrisity girl/boy is that that Sapphire girl that ape was looking for???

Dinah is one of the only comic book characters that have an actual age (besides the old people from the forties). Most characters have no age. But, according to Justice League: Year One, Dinah was 19 during Year One, which was 1983, making her born in 1964. Of course, she went into Ra's Al Ghul's Lazarus Pit, making her look to be in her mid twenties.

I was totally, for lack of something better to wonder about...thinking about Oracle's age??? I guess it's just part of the comic world fun...you know...escape reality...escape age restraints? It does, however; confuse me sometimes when comparing the artists' rendering of her...like in the last few, she looks 18, but before she looked 30 and frumpy, and sometimes she's been almost hard and unattractive???? Anyhow...I was expecting much more from #51 in the Oracle area??? They barely went into the confrontation...and then again lead us to believe in the next issue there will be action...but I doubt it...I just really love the stories that have more Oracle...

I didn't read any previous issues with the monkey-man and I think I only read 3 issues at most. That monkey-man thing seems kind of silly, but any ideas about the mystery man?

I just bought #51. Black Canary helps the ape-dude. Java, who wants to rescue his love that was in a lab accident in Simon Stagg's labs. Barbara and the guy who wraps her in plastic wrap in the Clocktower. He tells her that people respected Batman.

well i noticed in this issue that it looks like apeman has a crush on this married lady and she really could care less, but she wants revenge and she is merged with her son. how strange.
