View Full Version : god help us is our quest
Im new here so dont attack to badly but ive been down the "dont cancel this show" road before (God I miss Titus) we had petitions and sent letters and it was still canned for no real reason. I blamed fox and vowed to only watch the more "friendly" networks like the WB, I saw this new show being advertised to start soon. Being on the same network as Smallville, which has been managed very well, I though it was going to be on for a few seasons. Maybe i just have bad taste in TV that my favorite shows get canned over and over (10 bucks says my other Fav show Fastlane is done by september). Titus had no where near the diehard fans this does, however. and CNN said nothing about it, that i know of. One thing bugs me though, im gunna cry if one more whiny nerd (no offence to the non-whiny nerds) complains that the show sucks cause Huntress doesn't ware a mask, if you want Ashley Scotts face covered, your missing out on the best part of the show, hell it took me 20 minutes befor i realized it even had dialouge! :) plus superman wore no mask, and he is the original superhero. Well anyway I mostly wanted to say that as much as I want the show to stay on, God himself will have to send a comic book. The WB cares nothing about fans and viewers, Why? because we dont pay them, now if advertiesers backed us up then maybe we could get it back next season, but the cost of rebuilding the sets, and getting the staff back might be more than the show is worth, their still trying to run a buisness there. i heard the writers or producers or somthing work on smallville so they aren't going anyware, and Ashley Scotts sooo going to be type cast as every leather-clad asskickin girl in holywood, so shes got work lined up already (maybe) .she and all the others actors might have enough on there plates to not even want to comeback. if youve read this far in my whinefest of a post, your probably alone, i know im not even going to bother rereading do to my long windedness. i have more to say but its 3 am and im a little sleepy. I wrote a joke wanna here it? no? ok, but its funny!

I feel there is a chance to save the show as do alot of other fans so I'm not going to give up in this campaign. Sets have not yet been torn down and production is still continuing starting January 7th so there is still time.
The cast and production team are still hard at work and so I am. Keep fighting everyone!

The show was actually getting decent ratings (not spectacular ratings, maybe ... but they most certainly weren't in the basement, either; in fact, over 50% of The WB's program schedule is doing WORSE than BOP).
This show was never given a chance to develop to its potential. ST: TNG, Magnum P.I., Buffy ... they all had their share of lousy first episodes. All were permitted to develop into hits.

ST: TNG sucked until the third series, but they still stuck with it.
I don't think the ratings for BoP merit the sudden cancellation.
I mean if they cancel it while its doing better than other WB shows, then what were they expecting of it. BoP needs to be given the chance to develop, its only really still finding its feet.

Even their current darling "Smallville" had its share of problems shortly after it debuted last season (Entertainment Weekly ran a story about this not too long ago).

Smallville has story arcs that don't involve "super powers" though, we haven't seen a lot of that kind of character development in BoP yet. Perhaps they should make Helena CEO of Wayne Enterprises, and then can't hack it or summat :-)

Lucius Fox is the CEO.
Now wait just a fricken minute, i NEVER said I was giving up, im just saying If this was a horse race Id put my money on the other guys, but chear for us...... I think this is the best time to have a show like bop, superheros are in right now thanks to the spiderman movie and even smallville, plus ratings would grow some after the release of the next Matrix movies (different plots simmiler action) and grow more when the 2nd x-men movie comes out, and im not sure when or if they will come, but there has to be a spiderman seqeal, more ratings there too. There is one thing that would make this show better.. Just 2 words Bruce Campell, Oh yea the jay leno of B movies the big chin himself strait outa housewares.... and to Batso, i was surprised how fast the storys took flight i mean in the first 2 episodes Helana was already in therapy, and by the 3rd morning the loss of a friend... You know guys, with the amout your spending on stamps and comics, we could all get to gether and produce BOP ourselves :p

Welcome, Mr. Q. At this point, all we can do is continue campaigning (sending comic books and letters) and promoting the show like crazy. It may not work in the end but, if we don't keep pushing, there is no chance that the show will come back.
The details for the comic book campaign are at www.birdsofpreyonline.com/campaign
And, by the way, we have instituted a policy of "no negative posts and no fighting" so don't worry about being attacked here.

Actually, I'm rather hoping that Levin is well aware of the show's potential and is using the cancellation decision to drum up ratings.
Ahem - well, here's hopin :D
LOL Batso. Well look at all the free advertising they are getting out of it anyway. But I hear you! ;) One can only hope.
All I know is I am in this fight for the long haul! ;) No matter what happens! :)

We must bring in a lot of people to tune in to both episodes on wednesday. I'm hoping the 'Gladiatrix' episode gets 7.8/3 and 'Reunion' 7.9/4 in the overnight ratings.
