In issue 72 of Xpose, there's a 10 things you didn't know about Dina Meya:

1) Dina Meyer (that's Dee-na My-er, pronunciation fans) first entered the world on December 22 1968 in the Forest Hills region of Queens in New York. Explaining her nickname, Melon Seed, she said, "One of my brother's friends call me that. Everyone else calls me Dee or Dean. It's about the size of my head: he thought I had a dead the size of a melon seed."

2) Dina has two brothers, one older and one younger. To gain a good education at her parents request, she went through college and graduated in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing, plus a minor in French.

3) Her father owns a repair and auto parts shop in Queens and Dina is very close to her family. "My parents never spoiled me, but they always believed in me, and said that whatever I want I could have - if I worked hard enough," She said. "That has made me very motivated and driven."

4) Dina started modeling at nine and continnued with it until she was 16, but always wanted to be an actress. She eventually joined The Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York.

5)To pay her bills, Dina took a job advertising the female hygiene product 'Always'. "I did 10 of them. I had to talk about the tiny little holes that made everything disappear and how fresh I'd be if I used 'Always'. They were ridiculous!"

6) Dina's major breakthrough came when she landed a recurring rol as Professor Lucinda Nicholson on Beverly Hills 90210. She then guest starred in several episodes of 'Friends'. She found out about the part because her agents was also Matt Le Blanc's.

7) After this, Dina managed to land the main female lead opposite Keanu Reeves in Johnney Mnemonic, during which she did most of her own stunts, proving her credentials as an action actress. Her other movie credits include: Nowhere Land, Dragonheart, Bats, Unspeakable and the imminent Start Trek: Nemesis.

8) She is probably most familiar from Starship Troopers, in which she played tough-talking Dizzy Flores. "I originally read for the part of Carmen, but I just found myself drawn to the role of Dizzy, because she willing to get her hands dirty, to speak her own mind, and to be one of the boys to get what she wanted."

9) The movie also contained her first nude scene. After director Paul Verhoevan called the cast ridiculous for being reticent, Dina claims, "I said, 'Okay, big shot, why don't you take off your clothes? so he did. And then he got his cameraman to do the same. After that, we all felt pretty silly, so we went ahead and stripped off."

10) "I'm not saying I'm out to play ugly girls," Dina explained of her hopes for future roles, "It's just that if the part is attractive, I want her to have something else. I want to be able to scare the pants off a man just as easily as charm them off him." Any men wishing to charm Dina will be interested to hear that, "Guys do not line up to date me, so I'll take any offers. LA is a very touvh place to meet people.

Thanks for posting the article. Dina Meyer's performance is the best thing about the show. The biggest problem the show has is that her character isn't on screen at least 50% of the time. Oracle is a fascinating character with lots of potential stories - how she changed from Batgirl into Oracle, how she dealt with taking in a 16 year old just when she was paralyzed, how she feels about being the brains - but not the physical part - of the organization. TPTB have really missed the boat here.

They missed it big-time. A wonderful character (actually, TWO characters) went to waste --- so far. maybe, just maybe, the 'shuffled' staff can come up with some boffo episodes, starting with 'Shiva'!
