When I learn in my copy of Batman:the complete history that former DC comics group editor/writer Denny O'Neil hate the second Robin/Jason Todd and wanted the character to die.I think O'Neil had a vendetta against not only Jason Todd but Nightwing/Dick Grayson(who O'neil put out of the way in a December 1971 issue of Batman).

Um, Dennis O'Neill did not hate the second Robin , Jason Todd. IT was a phone voting thing and the fans "killed" him( I think the voting was however O'Neils idea). The fans never accepted Jason who was this rebel kid, were unlike the Dick Grayson (Jasons history was changed after the crisis, he used to be a nice kid, but the writers made him more of a "punk"). And about that 1971 one thing, my knowledge about comics from that period isnt that good but what do you mean? Nightwng wasnt even created back then.

December 1971 was the month they changed Batman from the campy Adam West version to the darker, current version.

I know that O'Neill and his buddies got rid of the campynes back in the early 70s( I believe that there was some un-campy storys from 1969-1970 aswell) but wasnt Nightwing created in the early 80s?

But the writer did changed Jason's origin in Batman #408 and that's why some folks hate him.I like that character and Bob Kane said in his 1989 autobio that the one who killed jason shouldn't have tampered with his characters anyway.

super85:what I mean is that O'Neill hated Dick Grayson right from the start.Grayson was missing in action during in the December 1971 issue that included that Reaper.

Jason wasnt even a character pre-crisis, He was a Dick Grayson clone and even had a similar origin.I prefered the later "punk" version of Jason. Dennis O'Neill has very very few enemies, you should read his Batman work from the 70s, its superb stuff. I dont know what Bob Kane ment with that statement, Jason wasnt a creation of his, Bob only wrote like 20 issues of Batman anyway, Bill Finger handled the writing (uncredited) while ghost artists did the artwork. While Bob Kane deserves credit of creating Batman (along with Finger) its the other writers that have made him to what he is today. And true O'Neill has never been a huge sidekick fan, You should still read the "A Lonely Place of Dying" TPB(it introduces the current Robin,Tim Drake) that features a foreword by O'Neill, were he talks about Batman needing a Robin. That Reaper story from the early 70s, havent read it, so cant comment. in the 70s Dick was usually in College so Batman worked solo. And finally The fans killed Jason Todd. It was a phone vote and the comicfans "killed" him.

I meant Kane said that killing Robin and that fans would think it's original like killing of Dr. Watson.

OK, I didnt get that at first. The death of Jason Todd in Death in the family is pretty disturbing, but I like the story, its well written. I have no problem with Jason getting killed. Frank Miller already had him dead in Dark Knight Returns.

I began to heat the comics editors, they doesn't have consistence, some days supergirl is a thing, another it's a human, one day robin is death, another i died. I prefered the old versions.
Personally the caracter of Huntress in the comic doesn't like me, teh custom is awful and looks like a woman of 34. huntress in the sows likes me so much, it's fresh, rebel, funny, and reflects a lot of girls in that age.

The writer O'Neill hired to revise Jason's origin in Batman #408 was Max Allan Collins(whatever his name is).

I prefer the new versions of all the characters. Better personalities and more depht to the stories. The current Batman tittle with the creative team of Jeph Loeb/Jim Lee is a prime example of how damn good a comicbook can be.
