Slick, an evil meta-human who can turn from solid to liquid, is hired by Dr. Quinn to kill the honest cops who stand in her way. When Reese is the next intended victim, Helena comes to his aid and their mutual attraction continues to grow. Meanwhile, Barbara believes Dinah’s story that she’s just a runaway, but Helena remains suspicious.

The episode seems promising at least for the special effects. The meta-human seemed, from the trailer, to be well-done.
I am sure it will be interesting to see Helena and Reese work together. They were quite the duo in the apartment scene during the premiere and in the "Slik" trailer, we could see they were still having some fun poking one another.

Do yall think Dinah's story is true?

Hmmm...It'd definitely be interesting to have some dirt on the most innocent member of the Birds...But whatever happens to Dinah, I stand by her. Dinah rules, plain, pure, simple...
And the FotW reminds me of a villain from Spider-Man...He had the ability and the way they defeated him was by evaporating him...

Wow... *is totally amazed by the updates to the site*
All I want to know is... do we get to see Reese without his shirt? And when does he learn the secrets of the girls? Will he ever? Hmmmm...

Okay, don't hate me, but I don't like Reese. I know he was barely in the pilot, but I found him quite boring, and why would he pull a gun on an unarmed, cuffed girl? Anyway, I am looking forward to "Slick", I'm just not looking forward to a whole episode of Reese. Again, don't hate me, that's just MY opinion.
As for Dinah, I think she's just a kid who's had a tough life with a family who couldn't accept her because of her 'gift'. Now she's found a place where she can feel like she belongs, with people who will accept her for who and what she is. Helena will warm up to her soon enough.

I think Dinah's story is true... I think
Anyway her real mother The Black Canary, will be coming back to her soon. We'll probably find out the reason why she gave her up for adoption.
Maybe Barbera/Oracle knows, that's why Dinah joined the team so easily. Having known her mother.
But that leads the question, how come The Black Canary ask Barbera to look after her daughter ? Is it because she didn't want her daughter to be a super hero ?

Well I think this next episode is gonna be pretty good, but i'm really not into the whole Helena - Jesse thing...they're just not eachother's type...they don't look good together at all...

At first I was like Ashley Scott and Shemar Moore? It'll never work. Until I saw them as Reese and Helena
Besides the fact those two partially clad ex-models looked damn good together and looked damn good period in the previews for next week, I think what appeals to me about this relationship is there differences. And even though they are different, they are who they are for the same reasons. They both sort of have this defiance streak in them regaurding there fathers. It's just that one went one extreme and the other went the other way. But I think there daddy issues are the place where they will conect at some point.
Until then, the UST of them bumping heads on cases is just fun to watch. Reese is this guy who's trying to be this straight shooting cop (who happens to believe weird things) And Helena is this dangerouse girl, who's a good guy (girl) whatever and will provide a constant challenge to him. He knows that the unbelievable may be real, but he still wants to handle it like a cop would while Helena's going to challege him to think, work, and act outside the box.
like in next weeks preview at the pool.
Reese: There's a murder suspect in there, I think.
Helena: What are you going to arrest him in? A bucket?
(that's already one of my fav. quotes and I haven't even seen the episode yet)
I think he wasn't in the pilot much, because they were establishing things. Hopefully though, Reese won't go the way of Charmed's Darryl or Smallville's Pete ( a couple scenes/lines here and there). But neither one of them was the love interest of the main character. :D

Yea you may be right....we really haven't seen much of him and we dont know him really well so he and helena may be decent together...i dunno...and yea i hope he doesnt end up with a shitty part with bad lines that only come up on occasion...

The episode was great. It was funny, which kind of surprised me. It has 'Charmed' humor almost! I loved the part were Helena said "What kind of idiot would give up 30 million dollars." This was definitely my fav so far. And I love the opening credits!!!!!:D

They had previews, you must have missed them.
Great ep. I love the way they are developing Helena and Dinah's relationship. I don't know if Helena just didn't want to trust anyone new, or if she was a little jealous of Dinah. Maybe feared her taking over her place in Barbara's life?
Loved the scene where Helena told Dinah that there was only one person she trusted to watch her back, and then Barbara jumps in with "it's me". Also loved how Helena was gonna go all Huntress on Dinah for wearing her sweater. Lot's of great humor in this ep.

It is still the pre-discussion thread, but I see that people posted after the episode, so will I!
I found the episode better than the pilot. I am still blaming it on the fact that I saw the unaired one.
Mia Sara is so good! She totally is better each week! And mostly, better than I expected her to be.
I like the clever lines and references in the dialogue.
I'll have to rewatch to be able to comment more since I was doing other stuff while watching. Though the episode was good.

I loved last night's ep. Dinah and Helena act like little sister and big sister. It is so funny to watch them fight!!:p I liked when Barbara jumped in and said there will not be use of super powers to settle an argument. I can't wait to see how Dinah and Helena's bond will possibly begin to grow as the series continues.:D :D

Very good episode, I loved the Helena/Dinah interaction. I also love the way they travel through the computer animated city. And finding out sweet little Dinah was a big liar was a twist.
Helena and Reese have me addicted to them. And I was sure that Ashley Scott and Shemar Moore wouldn't work for me. But they have me and canon couples usually bore me.
Mia Sara is really a good harley quinn. Can't wait for next week.
Good episode, specially the fight scenes. And the water effects for Slick were very cool too :D
Oh, do I dare mention Helena's outfit in the steamroom? ;)
Mia Sara is definitely doing ok as Harley Quinn, she seems insane to me. When a person starts rhyming her sentences it's definitely time to worry :)

I really enjoyed the episode, but Dinah still bugs me. I don't know why. Ashley Scott is actually a pretty good actress as the Huntress, no matter what people say. Mia Sara as Harley was awful, I thought, in the premiere, but a lot more convincing this week. Oracle's techno stuff is great, of course...
I love their choices for music, too. They always seem to have good stuff that I usually haven't heard of, and it fits the scene. Especially the theme, Revolution, by Aimee Allen (www.aimeeallenrocks.com). Overall, Birds of Prey continues to get better and better. Oh, yeah, and the Helena steamroom outfit was a nice touch.

I just watched it for the second time and I just have to say, I don't envy the lines that Dina Meyer has to say. That technobabble must be really really hard. But she does a good job with it.

This was actually the episode that got me into the show. I liked it overall, but Helena acted way too snobby IMO, especially around Reese. I felt bad for Dinah, how she just wanted to fit in. Helena and Dinah make a pretty good team though.

Hi, I'm new here and some may know me from the superherohype.com board.
I enjoyed this episode, especially compared to the pilot. Although I only saw the unaired pilot because I couldn't download the final, I found that this was a big improvement. I feel that the first episode was merely an introduction to the main characters, and that the villain was added there just to make it have some (but unfortunately, short) action.
Slick was a brilliant villain, and I liked how he seemed to flirt with Harley whenever those two were put together. I really do like Mia Sara as Harley. She seems to give more character than Sherilyn Fenn did, but I also like Sherilyn's performance.
Helena and Dinah did a great performance, and that scene at the end when we learn about Dinah's past was very emotional and well done. Of course, Dina Meyer's performance as Barbara was excellent. I like how they made it the start of the relationship with Wade, which makes it more fresh.
Detective Reese did another brilliant performance as well, even though I'm a bit misunderstood why he just didn't do anything while Helena was in trouble. The scene when Helena and Reese had the discussion about trust was very well done, yet again.
I found the humour funny this time around, and also the action was improved on. My only improvement needed is that they need to give Harley more screentime. She needs to develop more, but not too much.
