Are there any songs currently out that you feel would be suitable for the "Birds Of Prey" theme tune? I love watching the opening credits and so I am interested in what song they are going to choose, though I usually get used to the song whether I like it at first or not....
Anyway, suggestions?

*Hasn't seen opening credits yet*
You've seen the opening credits? How have you seen the opening credits? When did you see the opening credits? Why haven't I seen the opening credits? How do I go about seeing the opening credits?
*pauses for much needed breath and pauses with a blink*
Little help? ;)

I was meaning I like watching the opening credits of shows in general, I haven't seen the BOP credits yet. Ooops, should have been a bit clearer. :o

What?!
You mean I almost made myself faint on a spectacular rant for absolutely nothing?! How could you be so... Alec?!?!
And I have no idea on a theme song so far, lol. I'll hafta go rummage through my collection and see what there is, although I'd imagine something upbeat and haunting. Matches the mood of the city with it's darkened, foggy streets and the whole leaping from rooftop to rooftop thing.

Hmmm...I'd like to see something dark and depressing...Like Enya or something Celtic...Or maybe Alanis Morissette. Her earlier stuf was *really* angsty...

if they have good music on birds of prey i'll cry. i really will cry cos then i may be forced to make a sister site for my smallville site.
jeez and what gets me down is are we ever gonna see birds of prey? EVER? I mean smallville coming over in christmas was a bit of a shock for me. i wasn't expecting channel 4 to jump on the wagon so quick but if birds of prey is really popular will bbc and channel 4 fight it out or will it once again go to sky and we'll have to wait years before we see it?
back to the theme music i say something dark and antsy. hmmm something unusual cos the angel theme came as a bit of a suprise to me. but it works well! i may also be saying dark and antsy cos this site is kinda dark! well kinda was the wrong word cos how much more dark can you get than black? there's no kinda about it"

I'm not sure and just excuse me a minute whilst I laugh at Drea for jumping the gun (even though I was for a moment all with her had I been earlier I might have made the same post) ;)
Anyhoo...I'm guessing Darling Violetta could probably do something for the credits them wise....they did the 'Angel' one down to a tee so I'm reckoning something from them or a musical score would be appropriate....But dark yet not too Dark is called for in some way....maybe something from 'Vast' even :D
Hmm... although I love the song from the fall launch trailer (Paul Oakenfold, 'The Harder They Come'), I'm not sure it would suit the opening credits. And as much as I like the credits for Angel, I don't think that mix of string instruments and upbeat music would work for this show. I want to see something different.
Groove Armada's "Chicago" is something I listen to often, and it doesn't have any vocals so I think it could work for the credits. I would recommend it. And I like Garbage's "The World is Not Enough", which kinda works for crimefighters saving the world, except it's too 60s-spy sounding and slow for opening credits. Radiohead's "I might be wrong" would be cool, the opening part of it before vocals start. Or a vocal-less version of Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams"... so many possibilities! Or Fluke's "Atom Bomb" or "Kitten Moon" and I should stop before I just list every damn song I have. I had to weed out lots that wouldn't fit, but those are just some possibilities. What I think would be really cool would be something by Moby. Love his music and it would be new for a show to use it.
The pilot I've seen didn't really have an opening credits scene so there wasn't a 'theme' as such. Maybe if I'm bored I'll do some sound capturing later :)

Personally I think they should go for something original, maybe a little rock-ish like the Buffy theme song.
However, if I am to pick a song, I'd like to see "Bitter" by Remy Zero (Ohh c'mon who didn't like the Smallville theme?) or maybe Gramarye by the same artist...
Maybe Elevation by U2? Or Addictive by Faithless.
That might work. So far the main sound I spotted is a kinda 'roaring' sound, like something made by a BIG cat, when Huntress is fighting. Seems to be her personal theme so far. Have to see what the show theme will be, hopefully something darkish to fit the atmosphere of New Gotham :)

I have no idea what could work as the theme for BoP, I suppose something dark would work best. Rock could be good as the theme also. I guess we'll have to wait and see...or hear. ;)

I like uhh...club music. lol It kinda matches with this dark theme thing. lol Since this plot takes mostly in the city, i think it'll match pretty good. *shrug*

In the pilot I saw, there were no credits at all.
I think that "Elevation" by U2 would fit in well. Especially, if they put a lot of action sequences in the opening credits. Any song they choose, it needs to be like "Elevation" or have a techno feel to it.
Yeah, a techo feel would be good :)

i agree it should be something up beat...but pilots don't usially have opening credits......as far as i remember they just start off so..........a mix of techno and rock would be nice..........elevation would be good depending on the scenes they use
You're right, pilots tend not to. It just had the cast names pop up on the screen (I think, been a few weeks since I watched it)
I'm sure they'll come up with an appropriate tune. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an actual song, like Smallville, shows seem to be going that way. Though if it's anything like the Enterprise theme, I will have to kill someone :)

I hope it's something techno-y and dark. Something like the opening of Remy Zero's Yellow Light could work, but possibly not so happy sounding... just my opinion :)

I am really not sure what I want, I like songs that kind of give you that funny feeling when you watch them combined with the visual aspect of opening credits. I like to get a chill down my spine and get really excited about the episode.
I am really open to anything providing it fits with the show, which I am sure it will. I am not sure whether something a little less techno would be better though, something more batman....

Wow, great topic! :D
Theme songs are very important, in my opinion. They really set a mood for a show. For anyone here who watched Roswell, Dido's "Here With Me" really set a darker, yet very passionate tone for the show. That's my idea of a successful theme song. Ditto with Remo Zero's "Save Me" for Smallville, which also sets the mood for the show really well.
I don't really have any suggestions at the moment, but I think it'll need to be something with a slightly darker mood, but with a stong message.

I was listening to 'We're in this together' by Nine Inch Nails...and I was thinking that they just like 'Vast' would probably be ideal for a theme song for the show :D

I wouldn't mind something sort of soft and then turn into some rock music; sort of like the credits to Buffy.

I was just listening to 'Safe and Sound', by Sheryl Crow, and I think it would be a good opening credits theme song. I can't really explain why, I just think it would work well with the show. It is dramatic, yet it has a sense of vulnerability, which I like.
Though, I think 'Elevation' would be good too. It has more of an action feeling. I can't really choose though. :o

Hey there, newbie here! :D I don't know whether BOP will get here eventually, but hey at least here I can read people's opinion of it.
Now, the theme....hmmm... I think something similar to 'Angel' would be good. I'm hoping it's an instrumental created specifically for the show (again, like Angel) but if the song is good, then by all means. This worked for 'Roswell'.

A slightly re-mixed elevation would be great.
Or the beginning of Nickleback's Breathe.

I would like a techno themed song.
The song "Lust" by Balligoming has been featured in two major BoP promos/trailers so I am beginning to think it is the theme song. If they use the right parts of the song in the credits it would do just fine for me!
