View Full Version : Birds Of Prey/Smallville Crossover?

Hmmm.....someone recently commented to me on how the two shows could cross over. Now I am not a BOP Guru or anything, its all still new to me and I am researching etc to try and get more information on everything...BUT...would a crossover even be possible? Timeline-wise I mean...
Especially when they are still wrestling with the idea of bringing Bruce to Smallville/Metropolis at some point in the shows run.
Anyone care to enlighten me? ;)

Whoa, that would be kinda weird. I personally don't think that it's possible, Smallville is a million times different from Gotham City. Clark Kent could join the girls and become one of the Birds of Prey. LOL! I don't know how would they be able to keep a more serious tone to the episode, I'd be laughing through the whole thing.

I honestly don't believe that they'd be able to manage a Smallville/BoP crossover, no matter how successful both shows get. Unless they had Clark travel through time or something, or one of the Birds do that too. Because the creators want Bruce to be like Lex is at this point, which would make them similar in age, which just wouldn't make sense timeline wise with the other show. And Clark is just too bright of a character to even work in the gritty Gotham world.

It all depends i think. Perhaps if Lex were to make an appearance in BOP (but i'm just Lex obsessed me) he could perhaps be involved with an investigation or something (its late, been working all day, mind numb)

See I could understand that - Lex stopping by, he is the rich "visiting cities and places such as these" all the time kind of guy, but in the time frame of BoP, Bruce Wayne is a lot older and long gone, and Lex and Bruce are currently considered by hopes of the creators to be around the same age or so, so it wouldn't exactly work. But who knows, it really all depends on how they write it if it were to happen :)

I don't think I could see a real crossover. Though seeing a bad guy go from New Gotham to Metropolis (or vice versa) would be more feasable.
The shows have two different settings and ideas. Though, as seen in the pilot, BoP does mention the effects of a meteor shower, but I think that is just a character talking about what we read in the comics and not saying that what goes on in Metropolis is really happening. If you know what I mean ;)
I think I would prefer no crossovers at all.
I don't see it happening. Though there has been that funny remark by Huntress about meteor rocks giving people powers :) It would be nice if a crossover did happen, but it's probably unlikely to occur yet. Maybe if the show goes on for a few seasons it might, when there's a decent fanbase etc. to start yelling for one ;)

The way I see it, it *could* work. All the Smallville char.s would have to be older, though. Like Superman is looking for Batman in hopes of trying to reform the Justice League after learning that a bunch of villains were joining forces to take over the world (or something impossible like that.)
Superman doesn't really age too much, so we could slap some blue and red spandex on Welling, dye Mack's hair dark brown and make her Lois, and Rosenbaum could be Evil Lex. Yeah...It could work...LOL
If he's "Superman" it wouldn't be Smallville any more, would it? :) Oooh... have you heard of the Batman vs Superman film that's being worked on? Now that sounds cool :D

Like the other people said...
Wouldnt it be a bit weird? The times wouldnt match...lol Clark is much older than Batman and Catwoman's daughter. Unless....there's some kind of portal where either one of them could travel through time. lol
Why would the writers even bother to make a crossover between Smallville and BoP??

Even if they did decide to do a crossover which I am now opposed to after thinking it over, I don't think the plot would be very good no matter how they wrote. Time Travel is to sci-fi for Smallville.

Smallville is taking place before he became superman, and this show is taking place after Batman in "New Gotham" Logically..it's not possible. But it would be awesome if it did happen ;)

Well from the Lex idea, he may become a one time Villian-of-the-week, he could be *insert batmans age here* and have his empire built up.
Alternitivly they could do a future episode in Smallville, like some people getting blasted with kryptonite explosions (Don't they always?) and being able to see into their own future-- then a crossover is very possible.
Oops, I forgot about the different time frames. It would be near impossible for a crossover to happen then, as it'd need Superman who isn't going to come on the scene until the very end of Smallville, or maybe not even then :)
Time travel would just be silly, I can't see that being worked into Smallville. BoP possibly, but unlikely. They'll just have to settle for all the subtle comments about Smallville and vice versa. Which isn't bad, as they're kinda funny ;)

Nope it could not happen as everyone has said the time scale is wrong......if they do try that i would find it weired to watch as i know the time is all off. But it's going to be a cool show without any Smallville crossovers. I think it will stand well on it's own.

I hope there's no crossover, the whole different times thing... don't really like the idea of time travel.
I think Birds of Prey and Smallville will be fine on their own without having to crossover. :)
Yeah, they should only even consider it for a humorous, poking fun at yourself episode, and only after both shows have gone for a few seasons :) Not like Star Trek or Buffy/Angel where they can throw crossovers in quite easily. Though they have the bonus of better continuity I suppose.

Nope! No crossover between Smallville and BOP. They both have a different setting, time, and different tone. It would be weird if they do the crossover. I can't even imagine it Clark and Huntress work together LoL.... Maybe it would be cool if Huntress and Dark Angel workd together LMAO oh well, it just my imagination heehee :p
Lol, now THAT would be cool :D

THAT would be hilarious! Too bad DA's cancelled. :(
But imagine that!
Max: Asha?!?
Helena: Who?!?
LMAO. :p
But back to BoP & Smallville crossovers ... I don't think they should do a crossover at all. Although occasional (and I mean occasional as in ... once every 5 episodes or so) witty references to Smallville/Superman would be funny. :D

Yeah, that'd be ok. But no crossover, even if they did manage to work out a way of doing it :)

Joker, worried, thinking to self...
{Okay, Bats I can deal with. Exploding pies, electric handshake buzzers with stunners, wind up toys that are really killer robots... but no Kryptonians. No way, no how... hmmm. Maybe I can make up some Kryptonite-based knock-out lipstick for Harley and sic her on him?}
While I'm sure they *could* pull it off, in terms of scientifically and logically, I don't see any reason to do so. I mean, what reasoning is there behind having either of the show's characters appear on the other? They would have to have a really, really great storyline for me to be convinced that a crossover is necessary.

I personally hate the idea, they're set in totally different worlds, and it would never work.

I disagree about them being set in different worlds, because effectively they are all part of the DC universe and kind of slot together in some ways. I just personally don't think its possible because of the time differences, the fact they want to bring Bruce to Smallville and the different tones show the shows have.
I do agree that its not a good idea though ;)

Yeah, it wouldnt work. If BOP was only a few years ahead of Smallville, maybe, but the time difference is too big. There is no way I could see it happening. Plus, what the above people said, the tones of the shows are too different.
