I am interested to learn what has interested everybody about the show. There seem to be rather a lot of fans around the net and I was wondering exactly what got you eagerly anticipating the premiere?

Did you/do read the comics? Were you interested to see how it was going to be adapted?

Did you watch the trailers and clips at TheWB.com?

I personally overlooked the show at first, but after watching the trailers and reading up on it got really interested! It sounded like a mix of my favourite shows but with something unique about it. I, as many other people, cannot wait until the premiere! :D

I don't know what exactly made me interested in Birds of Prey, probably when I read about it at the WB and the watched trailers. And the fact that the producers from Smallville are part of the crew helps, if this show is as good as Smallville I will be really happy. :) :)

Ah, I'm continuing in my duties as a dedicated member :p

What drew me to the show? The fact that I understood it. When I heard the words Birds of Prey, I immediately thought of the Batman spinoff kind of series that's in comics. I rarely read any comics at all, but I remembered it from somewhere and got interested. To sum it all up: The Batman Connection. Oh and the fact that Huntress is Batman and Catwoman's daughter just sucked me right in. :D

I guess it started by hearing about it from people, then reading stuff about it, seeing trailers, still more reading... Anyway, can't wait to see the show :D

Btw, I'm new, so hi everyone :)

Well, I first saw the trailer on the TV and I was like, wow that show must be good. Then, I over read it on internet and browsing around the WB site. Then bam! I head about this site. After I went to this site and joined the forum, it make me even wants to see the show. I believe this show going to be rocks! and off coarse messa can't wait to see the premier. God I'm going to start counting how more day it'll going to be on LMAO :p

If you head to the front page of this site, you'll see a "Next Episode" section... next to the listing of the date/time of the next episode is a counter for how many days left til it airs. ;)

A friend of mine read the comics and she told me about them. I really got into the comics and then i saw on the WB site they were going to make it into a show. So i'm looking forward to seeing it brought to light and interested in seeing how they do it and if they stay true to the comics.

Well I had heard about this show a while ago from a girl called Nikki, she said it was gonna be cool and I didnt think much more of it. Thats untill I knew Matt was doing a site for it, I then went to the WB site and read about it and it looks very cool so I will be watching when it airs hear in the UK.

It sounds pretty cool, and although it will take soooooooo long to reach over here (stupid damned irish slow network people) I'm looking forward to it.

Plus look at the cast...

I have always been a fan of Cat & Bat, so the story after they have gone is just interesting. also reading about it has already got me addicted.

Then the fact how Smallville has done so well and how i have become a big fan of that show, I am thinking the same thing could happen here.

Also with such a good site/forum as this one, it just feed's my obsession.

What drew me to the show...

First off, I never read comics, so that is not that. I think what draw me to the show is the fact it has to do with Gotham and Batman. I watched the TV series (with the "Bam, Boom, Bang" ;) ) and all movies over and over again.

Plus, I usually love that kind of dark show with a twist.

The fact that Dark Angel was cancelled, and I liked Ashley Scott's character on the show. I'm going to be watching everybody that was on Dark Angel, and anything new they have coming out.

And plus, it's the WB, and I'm a sucker for half the shows they have.

Well, I'm always looking ahead to new shows about 3 months after the fall TV season starts. :p In December/January, I discovered news about Birds of Prey and was really excited about the idea. I love shows with kick-ass heroines (like Alias and Dark Angel). Then I heard about the casting and was even more excited ... Ashley Scott was completely under-used on Dark Angel, but she had a lot of talent and I think she'll bring a lot to the show, along with Dina Meyer, Rachel Skarsten and Shemar Moore.

And besides, I've always loved anything related to Batman. :D

Well...it's kinda weird to see Batman and Catwoman have a kid. :| That pulled me into this show. lol It's kinda weird too, there's 3 women like Charmed. :D Now only if this show had a hot guy. *sigh* :D

Ted

I first glossed over the show, and as awful as it sounds, maybe part of it had to do with seeing the picture of the cast and really being put off by Ashley Scott's hair. Yes, not great of me, but I know part of it also had to do with saying, "Another comic book adaptation, the people who bring me Smallville... well, wait, uh, I'm kinda tired of Smallville". And I was, for reasons I can discuss on a different board. ;) So I didn't pick up on it right away. Then I started talking about it with Matt, and the more I looked at it, the more I got into it. The fall launch trailer completely hooked me. We took about four or five days, put the site together (quick turnaround for the two of us, we usually take ages), and now here we are. I'm looking forward to it a lot, because now I've gotten past my assumptions about what it would be like based on Smallville, I can see how it combines sci fi/action ideas I like, I enjoyed the Batman movies, and would like to return to that dark and gritty world. I think it's a departure from shows like Smallville and Charmed which are set in lighter worlds, and I think it looks really cool.

I was the same. I let it slide originally cause I thought it'd be yet another poorly done comic-rip for TV. Hardly a good assessment given that I did the same with X-Men originally... THEN I saw the trailer and immediately was one of the ones queued up on release night to go see the movie. I saw the launch promo and it actually gave me goosebumps.

I can't wait to see the show kick off over here, which granted will be in Jan sometime no doubt... but that's why broadband's such a dear friend. I'll be hooking up a download ASAP in Oct :D.

For me it was the shows premise...also the fact that I'm a huge Sucker for all things Batman, Spiderman, Superman....ok anyone seeing the theme here?

Batman was the films that I can remember going to the cinema for the first time (i probably got taken before but I don't remember...must say something huh?)

So when this show comes along and throws BatGirl and the child of Batman and Catwoman...HELLO...much hooting (No boys not that kind *Sigh* ;) ) followed. I'm so excited that I've only looked at pictures, no spoilers, no trailers...Nada. When this show appears on my TV I want to be fully blown out of my chair without those little expectations that might start penting up when you've read a lot about a new show and are then waiting for it to air.

Of course...give me a month...ok a week....a day maybe? And I'll be the biggest spoiler monster going :p

Can't remember why I was drawn to it..... I remember hearing about it when I learnt Ashley Scott was involved after Dark Angel. Then I think I was idly looking things up and ran across another site about it which had a few trailers. One watch and I was hooked. It also helped I'd put the pilot on my download list out of sheer curiosity.

Wow, no mention of Ashley Scott in revealing clothes, or 3 female leads or...... Oh. Damn. I was doing so well too :p

Can't wait for the premiere.. Well I'd say that I love the character Harley Quinn, and to find out that Mia Sara is playing her! Wow that's cool. I hope that spoiler isn't true. That's all I'll say about it.

The first thing that got me was the whole Batman/Catwoman getting together thing, since I always said they should but since I don't read the comics, I don't know if they ever "officially" did.

One more thing was the focus on Batgirl, who has always been one of the most neglected characters - treated like a dumb blonde (even when she has red hair) most of the time. This is a great twist - but admitedly it doesn't fit in with the cartoon, where she ends up being head of the Gotham PD. I like this version better.

The Batman Beyond story, speaking of the cartoons, is very cool, and it did follow along with the original story, just in the future. The BoP storyline is already different, with Batgirl/Oracle's uh...situation, (not to say that it won't change by the time she gets old). But it seems now there are two completely different versions of Future Gotham running around, which is totally confusing but I am a big nerd and will deal with it.

Why I was drawn to this show? Hmm....

Well, my all time favorite show was Dark Angel and Ashley Scott was in it. Also, I'm into Sci-Fi, and shows with mythological-ish meaning. :)

Love the action too!

I actually was watching Starship Troopers and I thought I wonder what Dina Meyer is doing now so I looked her up on IMDB.com and found out about Birds of Prey. I'd seen Dina in Starship Troopers, Bats, Johnny Mnemonic, Dragonheart, Federal Protection, and Friends. So then I searched the net and found the trailers and clips. I downloaded them and by the time I finished watching them I was like I'm going to watch this show. I'd never seen Ashley Scott in anything but just through the trailers I can tell that her and Dina Meyer have some great on screen chemistry. Plus Shemar Moore is good looking and a good actor. So I came because of Dina but I stayed because of the obviously terrific cast. I can tell already that this show is going to be great.

Well....I'm a devoted fan of Charmed, Buffy and Smallville...and this show seems like a cross between all three in some ways *smiles*

I'd seen Dina on Friends before...and a few other things, and she kind of intrigues me too...

All in all....I have high hopes for the show *thumbs up*

I heard about BoP when I went to see what new shows would be on The WB this fall. I glanced right over it, didn't even read to see what it was about.

Then, I saw a few boards being formed about the show. I figured I would check it out. The minute I found out Shemar Moore was in it, it was over. I was definitely going to watch.

I have been in love with SM since he was on Young and the Restless. So, of course when he is on a TV show I must watch.

I checked out the premeire. I actually just finished watching it. I think I've got a new show to watch every week. I loved it. The graphics, the cast, the story, Shemar Moore! What else could I ask for. *sigh* I love The WB!

I was looking at the The WB fall line-up... then I saw "Birds of Prey", and I read the story behind the show... and the fact that it's the same guys who makes Smallville... I thought to myself

BOP is gonna be huge !, it's gonna be the new Buffy, since Buffy will end soon.

Well, I heard an ad for the show on the radio so I looked up this site. It has a talented group of actresses and the thought of Batgirl teaming up with the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. Who wouldn't wanna watch??? Two of my favorite shows are on their last season(Farscape and SG1)so I really hope BOP turns out as good as I think it will, and lasts.

I think I was drawn to it by the three heroines saving Gotham. The show should stay focused on their loyalty and friendship to each other. They shouldn't do like Charmed and put too much relationships on it.

It's been a few years since I read any comic books but I have always liked the Batman character. I think the idea of these three ladies carrying on the fight against evil is very noble. There is always someone, somewhere, who will stand up and say "Enough is enough! Something has to be done about this, NOW!" I wish the show good luck.

I used to be a big batman fan, when one day I was checking out the new fall shows for each t.v. network. I saw the title Birds of Prey under the WB fall lineup and decided to check out more info about the show. When I found out that Ashley Scott is one of the cast members, I just had to checkout the show.

Something about Oracle has always had me captivated by her. I don't know what. I first came across her in either one of the batman graphics novels or one of the JLA's. Either way she';s been one of my fave characters.
I first heard about BoP in SFX magazine here in the UK and I thought it'd be pants at first. Just another crapppy program. But it's more than that. Itr's Batman II meets Buffy. Simply; It rocks!

I'm a fan of most comic book characters and Huntress, Barbara Gordon and Black Canary are a few that I like. When I heard that they were getting their own show I was hooked. I don't read te BoP comic though, I still haven't seen an issue at the comic store I go to all the time.

I don’t know what drew me 2 the show, if some1 was to describe to me the idea of the show "well; Batwoman got shot in the head and managed only to be paralyzed, and she took 'huntress' (catwoman and batman's secret love child) under her wing oh yeah and she's a mutant, and oh I almost 4got, there's a girl w/ psychic powers as well..." just wouldn't really draw me in, but the trailer I saw made it look like what it is (or at least wot I think it is); Dark Angel meets Charmed. I was hooked from the trailer, then I saw the episode and I was completely dependant on the show for my survival. But now the stupid cable ppl took away CNX (the UK TV channel that BoP is on) and I cant watch it, I'm currently d/ling many many episode on Kazaa but I’ll miss it :(

Firstly, I guess, I'm a Batman fan and I really like Batgirl/Oracle and Huntress. I think they are great strong characters. Then I saw some pics of Batgirl in costume for a new WB show called Birds of Prey and I found out that Dina Meyer was playing Babs and she was always my dream casting for Barbara Gordon (I'd remembered her from Dragonheart and Starship Troopers) and I thought this can't get any better. (I don't know about you but I constantly casting actors that I think could play the comic characters).
Then I discovered that the Huntress character was to be Batman and Catwomans daughter and I was WHAT !!! that's not true....I was a little miffed. So I did some digging and discovered that there in fact was a character (Pre-Crisis) called Huntress who was Batman and Catwomans daughter. I was back to being really excited and interested where they could take this chatacter that they were bringing back from "the dead".
So I downloaded the 5 min promo trailer and the rest is, as they say, history.....
The show hasn't aired here yet and I don't have a computer at home so I had to download the episodes from kazaa at work and watch them during quiet times. Although I have now seen every episode there is a difference seeing them on t.v and knowing that others are sharing in the fun.
Can't wait... Fingers crossed.

what first got me interested in the show was looking at the WB 2002-2003 schedule in horror when Maybe It's Me had been canceled, and then seeing Birds of Prey on the list. I looked at what it was about and I found it EXTREMELY interesting... watched the Pilot and LOVED IT EVER SINCE. Too bad its not on... YET hehe...

This thread is QUITE old for this message board and I'm wondering what happened to all of the fans! They all LOVED the show and couldn't wait for the premier and now that its canceled they accept the WB's idiocy again... :weep: why do they have to be so cruel.... :weep:
