I was brousing comicscontinuum.com and when I saw the preview of page one,there was a photo of Renee Montoya kissing another woman(No,it's not Margret Sawyer).I was suprized.


Now it's the time to discuss.:cool: :smoke:

It's not something DCComics does often. They take great care to be responsible when they do. If you think about it, her private life has been kept under wraps. The only man who has shown great care and respect, maybe even admiration, for her is Harvey Dent. That was during NML, and we really haven't seen much since....

DC is GREAT on the portrayal of gay and lesbian charactors !! I always suspected it of Montoya .. BUT I'm really glad they gave us a chance to get to know her and learn to like and respect her before introducing this asspect of her charactor.

Its been my personal experience that people who get to know me as a person before they find out I'm gay don't like or respect me any less once they do ... more importantly it shatters thier preconcieved notion of what a typical or sterio typical gay person is or should be .... KUDOS TO DC for being wise enough to realize this too !!

Also KUDOS .. to John Byrne for bringing Maggie out of the closet way back during his run on Superman and also for introducing Northstar ... whom he had always intended to be gay since the inception of Alpha Flight ... kudos too to Marvel for finally bringing him out in Alpha Flight 106 !!

Has anyone else noticed that almost all the well known female cops in the DCU are lesbians? I'd have to say that's very stereotypical.

Chase .. though she is more of a secret agent than a cop.

Nightwings partner .. whos name escapes me right now.

I do believe he said Chase was more of a secret agent, and Gannon is right about where Rene was during NML.....and I don't see Shauvahn going after the females any time soon.
