I was just watching an add for Spike TV on TNN. They say to go to www.spiketv.com and tell them what shows you want to see. I can't think of a better oprotunity to get back BoP than this. I know there are rumers about the Sci-fi channel but, if they're just rumers we should fill this new site with requests for BoP.

Ummm...isn't Spike TV just TNN renamed and rebranded. I'm not sure they'd air BOP.

SPIKETv is claiming to be what lifetime is for women, but for men. Since they're all about the testosterone, maybe they'll pick up a show with 3 beautiful ladies kicking butt (Can you say every male's fantasy?)...BOP has my vote!

Spike TV is owned by Viacom.
WB is still smarting over the loss of Buffy to UPN (Another Viacom property).
Having said that, I doubt we'll be seeing The Birds on Spike TV anytime soon. :p

First off DQ, the way they're rebuilding they will show anything in order to get vewers. Second SS, TNN is owned by CBS who has alot more pull than the wb and can have whatever they want to take from them.

If THAT was the case, they would've gone after Xena.
GL2814
05-28-2003, 05:48 PM
Oprahs' network has that, I guess it does go after more women than men. I wasn't a Xena fan but, it was the first show in a long time with a female lead in an action setting. Womaen like that part more than men notice. They might still try to get it though, right now they just want the vewers to tell them what they want to watch.

Have you heard the latest?
Director Spike Lee has filed a lawsuit against TNN (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=597&ncid=763&e=10&u=/nm/20030613/tv_nm/television_spike_dc).
Apparently he sought (and recently received) an injunction to prevent TNN from "exploiting" his name. The TNN "rebrand" has been temporarily placed on hold on account of the injunction.
IMO, if ever there was a man with an over-inflated sense of self-importance, it's Spike Lee. When I first heard the name "Spike TV", his name did not -- repeat, did NOT -- come immediately to mind.

Hey Seven, I posted that here already. I do agree with you and ADRL though. I've allways hated Spike Lee for reasons like this. If there was ever proof that an ego was to big for the owners own good it's Spike. Beside, TNN said it's entertainment for men. Not for spoiled cry baby directers that can't even make a movie worth watching and just slaps his name on as directer of a stand up comedy film that didn't need a directer. Nobody cares that he wasn't nominated for an oscar anymore, that was a long time ago. I wish a basketball player would crush him the next time he goes to a game.

The reason they're going to air is because the money has been spent to advertize those shows. I read on the web site that they want to bring in more shows but, they're having trouble do to the money going somewhere else right now. Well that last part was in my opinion. They are trying to get Airwolf and they still want to bring in shows the vewers ask for but, with stuff like what Shermon Lee is trying to pull they are have complications. So everything they have already advertized will be there, anything else has to wait until the lawsuit is taken care of. btw Did you really think the guys real name is spike?

I was watching the new add today and they're moving farword. They mentioned that they can't say the name on the air but, it is Spike TV. I think now they will take more requests from vewers to add shows. The law suit with Sherman Lee seems to be at the bottom of their pryority list now. I'd suggest checking the web site again and sending in our feedback. I still think they would air BoP and maybe even take suggestions from fans. If they atleast show reruns at 3:00 in the mourning would be good. It would be a sign that someone cares a little bit about what vewers want.

And then TNN/Spike TV should be called: "Spike TV, not affialated with Spike Lee at all."

TNN Network Can Call Itself Spike TV
By SAMUEL MAULL, Associated Press Writer
NEW YORK - Spike TV won't be getting spiked after all.
Filmmaker Spike Lee and Viacom settled a dispute Monday that allows the media giant to rebrand its TNN network as Spike TV, ending a lawsuit that contended the new moniker was a deliberate attempt to hijack Lee's image.
Lee, director of "Malcolm X" and "Do the Right Thing," had obtained a temporary injunction in June that prevented the name change, but on Monday state Supreme Court Justice Walter Tolub lifted the order.
The ruling means Viacom, which also owns CBS and MTV, can proceed immediately with plans to call the network Spike TV, the "first television network for men." Details on the settlement were not disclosed.
TNN shows reruns of "The A-Team," "Baywatch" and "Miami Vice" and sports entertainment such as pro wrestling and "American Gladiators." The network also carries an animated series featuring Pamela Anderson (news) as the voice of Stan Lee's "Stripperella," an undercover agent who is also a stripper.
Lee, whose real name is Shelton Jackson Lee, said he objected to being associated with low-brow programming.
The judge initially ordered Lee to post a $500,000 bond on June 13 after he issued a temporary injunction against Viacom's plan to rename TNN. But after a hearing two weeks ago, the judge raised the bond to $2.5 million and gave Lee until Monday to post it.
The additional $2 million was never posted, and the judge vacated the injunction after both sides reached the agreement, said one of Lee's lawyers, Terry Gross.
"We have settled the case with Viacom," Gross said. "It's obviously good when parties settle."
During the hearing Monday, TNN vice president Kevin Kay said the network had lost millions of dollars since the injunction and stood to lose millions more if the bar continued.
Viacom officials didn't immediately return telephone calls seeking comment on the judge's order.
While the case was pending, Lee was in Los Angeles filming "Sucker-Free City" for Showtime, a cable network owned by Viacom.

Now the network has a new lawsuit coming their way. A stripper in Florida (I think that's where she was from) is claiming that she created Stripperella. The good thing is...that Ren&Stimpy, Gary the Rat and Striperella are on 2-night. So without fail....I'm there at 9pmCST. R&S are so nasty this time around. Hurraaah for John K! Hurraaaah for Ren&Stimpy! Hurraaaah!

Mr. lee didn't loose his case. He decided to drop the case as Viacom (owner TNN) offered him a chance to produce a show on their ShowTime channel. An obvious payoff and what Lee was probably looking to do in the first place

Geez! Has spike's talent gotten so bad that he must stoop to courtroom tactics to get someone to let him produce a show? Wonder what'll it be about? How To Be Pissy, Sue And Get What U Want? Why the hell Viacom even settled for this outcome is a SIN! If it were me, I'd have told him to F**K OFF and quietly move into obscurity. At least the shows weren't affected. Major Jeer to Viacom for giving this IDIOT anything! :fume: :fume: :fume: :fight: :fight:

What telant are you talking about? They probobly thew him that bone to prove he has no telant and to get rid of some cash that the IRS wanted. You know, kind of like giving to charity. Anyway, they still want viewers to e-mail them with show ideas. They want to know what we wont to see so keep sending in the BoP requests. If they get enough requests we might get to see the show go into season two.

What talent? The talent to make incredibly long winded, bad movies. Now there's a suit against Spike TV by a stripper claiming that she created stripperella. At least the shows haven't suffered any. And I'm going to SpikeTV.com now to voice my wanting BOP on their schedule.
