Ok, I know I have had quite a few experiences and I was curious if you've ever seen a ghost, been in a haunted house (not an amusement ride) or experienced something you can't explain!

i havent seen a ghost but there is this huge house like 10 minutes drive from me serious its like one of those old proper gothic house. there is this story that when this duke and his family lived there and the duaghter fell in love with this guy a servent i thinkbut the parent didnt aprove so before she told them that they where to get married she buried her jewlery outside by the well just in case they kicked her out, any way they did get angry when she told them and she went to collect her jewles and she fell down the well and drowned later the servent guy hung himself by the window. and theres been tons of stories of people driving by, theres a road on the side of a girl hovering over the window of peoples cars. one woman actull knocked a girl over and when she got the girl was gone and people seeing the guy in a white shirt hanging from a rope in the window. and people hearing screams coming from the well. i dont no what is in the house now i dont even no whats in my mum did take me in there when i was like 3 to see the parots it was some mueseum i dont no whats in there now. it would be fun to go in at night, scary but fun.

you know what's creepy? me and Shadow were discussing ghosts just a minute ago and now I find this thread!
anyways, the only ghost story I've experienced is that I felt the ghost of my next door neighbours dead son in my bedroom for a while a couple of months ago, he even slept in my bed with me! creepy I know, but he was nice! and I kinda pissed of this dead queen in this cathedral today in Belgium, she followed me around for a while but I think she left when she heard these guys playing some sorta classical music.

I have a spirit in my house. She's friendly though. Her name is Agnes Stephens and she died of a heart attack in my room about 50 years ago. I've seen her, felt her, and heard her. I've spoken with her several times, and she visits me in my dreams.

Wow. That would be creepy. Hmm...I have to say that the creepiest thing happened to me once...I was watching T.V. late at night when the T.V. just shut off. Now what is creepy about that you say? Well, the power was working just fine....and the remote was five feet way from me.....

Definitely creepy.
My mom did a Ouija board at a sleep over in high school and it told her she would marry my dad. She knew who he was at the time, but they had never really met and certainly never dated.
Ok. That's not really a ghost story, but it's still odd.
Luckily, I've never had anything spooky happen to me, because I would totally freak out and probably pass out as well. I can't even watch scary movies. I'm a total baby. :p
-Night turns and flees again hoping that nothing is following her---

Okey first I used to do not normal things. If I pass my hand over lottery bills that you scratch (numbers covered) i can tell to you which have prize but I don't like do this, isn't good. And I can guess who is calling by phone or what's going to happen sometimes. i avoided a lot of accidents thanks of this. and things like that.
I had no one three ghost in my home, a girl, a young woman an a old lady.
The girl usually i saw her in my becrooms door, i don't care about it until began to de tired and annoy that while I was sleepind she sat in my bed, I turned to the right and she sat to the left and etc.
Often things dissapear of my room and if needed began to asked the gril that please gave me it back. And she gave me my things back when I returned to my room.
My mom in a beginig tought that I was mad until a day that she saw the girl, ahe know that was her becouse I had described her.
The girl loved ran in front of my door, and i didn't care that until she began to talk to me. I hate that. I went to visit a friend and I told him about my guest in home and he came to my house.
He amazed me, becouse he pointed me the places where i saw the girl and he described me her. And I never told him how she dressed.
In that moment he told me, "Just isn't one, are three."
"Damn!" I tought "Ok, it's enough this isn't a hotel everybody out!"
"They will go if you talked with hers" he explain me
"Never" I said " And if they answered me?? I will have a hart attack!"
So, he must to took them to the light, sorry, I don't like with invisible people...
******************************
My friend told me that the ghosts exist becouse:
*The people don't understand that is death.
*The peolple don't want to be death.
*The people doesn't know that is death.
*The people is lost and is searching for light.
*They don't want let her family.
HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE A GHOST IN YOUR HOME?
*Just put a glass of natural water in your bedside table, if in the morning have bubbles, sorry, you have a gost in your home.
*If your things dissapear frecuently in your room, try telling to your ghost that you are in a hurry and you need leave soon, that later you can play, get out and back few minutes later, you are going to find your things.
Lessons of how take ghost to the light later..... :D

When using a Ouija boards you need to be serious using it, cuz evil spirits can go through it...my brother owns it and he only uses it to speak to my grandmother and my grandfather....
My older bro has a picture of a wall and there is this white light, shaped like a human...and it looks so real...

Sorry I'm late. The first house I rmember living in was haunted. The only thing I really remember was that once my sister and I saw my dads' moms'(step grandmother)ghost. The house I lived in most of my life was also haunted. I remember when we first moved in(1981) we whould allways hear a party going on in the living room when nobody was in there. We also had a statue of a spanish knight that even though no-one else beleves me, I saw it move several times. There were other things but, I can't tell you everything now.

I haven't experianced any ghosts, just odd feelings. But what i have experianced i refuse to make sense of cause i just end up more confused than ever.
We once lived in a double story house near a beach in a small fishing town. Now the T.v. room was on one side of the house on the 1st floor, while the stairs to the second floor was on the other side. I remember once hugging my mom in the T.v. room, and then (not even a split second) i was facing the T.V. and she was gone. When i called out for her, she was on the second floor packing away clothes.

that's creepy Shadow! well last night I had another experience with the ghost of my next door neighbours son. His parents are on vacation so I guess he was just lonely or something so he was trying to contact us. He was freaking me and my sis out pretty bad. I was holding the handle of the door and I felt him place his hand on the handle on the other side. We could also feel him staring at us through the window. My neighbours find it kinda hard to let go of him so they still have his bedroom with all his stuff. It's right behind the wall next to my little sisters room and sometimes I hear him breathing when he's sleeping.

Ok. Just wanter to put my thoughts here. I have 2 very conflicting opinions on this subject. On one hand, I'm really interested. On the other hand is the christian stuff I grew up with. like, I know ouija boards are demon stuff, but then again it is interesting. I would never mess with one though. I have had some weird experiences. Like once I tried to be a wizard and it kinda worked for awhile. I've had the thing where my tv would turn off by itself (but I think it was the people across the street b/c their living room window is right across from ours and I think they had the same kind of tv). Once, my sis's friend swore she saw/felt an evil presence in our house. She was so scared she went crazy for a minute (running around screaming bloody murder) then started speaking in tongues really fast. Anyways, like I siad, I don't know what to think.

I have a ghost that lives in my house. 2 actually. the guy that built the old farmhouse I live in. There's Elmer and I forget his wife's name. There may be a lot of disbelieving people, but I can see the energy plains of the dead and stuff like that. It's actually a thing that I get from my mom. We have both seen the ghosts that live in my house and my said that she lived in a house similar to the one that we are in now when she was younger and saw ghosts all the time. Our house was built in 1898, and the barn was built a few years later. 4 years ago the barn was condemned and had to be burned. It was a very sad time for us because, even though it wasn't our family, it was very similar to stuff that has happened to us. We felt bad that the barn that Elmer had worked so hard on was burned, because it was actually still in pretty good shape. You wouldn't know the barn had ever been there now. The whole point of me relating this to the topic was that Elmer wasn't happy when they burned the barn because for a week after the barn was burned, we heard things falling in the attic. We can't get into our attic because it was sealed shut. Our landlord (great-grand daughter of Elmer) doesn't know how it was sealed because it was always open and now it is sealed from the inside out. Well, I have a million more things to say on the super-natural track, but I won't. perhaps another time.... perhaps.

My grandparents house is definately haunted, it was built in the early 1700's and al sorts of wierd things happen there. I got blood all over my hands without even a scratch on them, the dog barks and growls when no one is at the top of the stairs, the power cuts out for no reason, and I have heard strange noises coming from the basement and the second floor. I have seen several spirits in my time and some are scary like the people I don't know and the ones I do, bring me comfort. My grandfather passed away in 1988, I was driving home from work, and felt something pass right through me, I smelled his cherry tobacco, he always smoked, and felt him. When I got home my mom said sit down I have something to tell you, I told her Pop was dead, she was like how did you know, I told her I felt his presenance and smelled the tobacco.

yeah, its always the strange stuff. like when the remote is on my computer table and im laying in bed watching t.v. and it shut off, and the power is fine and everyone elses tv is ok, and when you are standing somewhere and you feel a cold wind on the back of your neck but the wind is not blowing and the a/c is not on, and this freaked me out, i was about to get into the shower and i turned it on, and it has never done this a second time,i turned the nob, because you have to twist it to get more power and i let go and it kept turning.... and the nob isnt loose or anything. And everytime i wash my face in the sink and i look back up at the mirror i am expecting to see a ghost or something there lol, i am paranoid i guess. but yeah i burned my ouiji board and threw it away, that thing scared the shit out of me, i just let the dead be dead, i do not have any wish to contact them

One time I was in the shower and I heard what I thought was my mom calling me. So I yelled to her I'm in the shower, I heard it again and again did the same thing. Then yet another time. Well I was getting pretty annoyed so I turned off the shower, wrapped a towel around me and went to see what the hell she wanted. I looked all over and no one was home. Well, I got back in showered and got dressed and got the hell out of the house so fast I must have beat landspeed records going to work that day!

I was staying at Gls' house for the weekend back in '95 and witnessed the strangest thing I've ever seen. Fryday night he was messing aroung with his recod player trying to show me what Stairway to Heavan sounded like when played in reverse. The next day he wasn't himself anymore. His voice wasdifferent, he was able to do things that he shouldn't have been able to. He was like that for two weeks, I even saw him float maybe six inches off the ground. I know he was psessed. He claims he doesn't remember but, one of our friends got the floating on video. I've been in his old house several times and every time it was so weird. He had a statue of a knight that I know I saw move. I'm so glad he doesn't live there anymore.

When I was about 13, my friend's little sister was bugging us so I pushed her onto the couch. She ran and told on me so when her mom asked if I pushed her, I said "No". She said, "Well, if you're lying, you'll see the devil on the wall tonight."
I thought it was such a joke and laughed it off. Later that night, I woke up and this is in a room that is lit enough but does not cast any shadows. I woke up and rolled over to face the wall, which was about a foot and a half away from me and saw a shadow of a side view of a doberman dog's head. It scared the hell out of me!
I was awake cuz I was facing the open room, I THEN turned over to face the wall and there it was. In my younger days, I would picture the devil sorta looking like a doberman and considering that's what I saw, it scared me for life! I really don't like those dogs at all, I can't look at the wall at night and I rarely lie. I will find alternatives to lying just because of what happened so long ago.
I finally told my friend about this and she laughed hard, saying her mom said that all the time. Well little did she know, for once, it really worked. It was the freakiest thing that ever happened to me.

I used to work night shift at a nursing home and me and two others were in a residents room at the end of the hall, and there about 20 or so rooms down this hall, anyway.......We were all in this room at the end of the hall and out of nowhere we heard; bang, BANG at the other end of the hall, and it was rapidly get'n closer bang, BANG! So me and this other chick went into the hall and all the doors to the rooms were slam'n shut! When this weird whatever finally reach are room, it did not slam the door, we felt this cool rush of air and the closet door was jus a shake'n like sum1 was try'n to rip it off it's hinges! It was jus to scary then it was jus gone like that!

those won't work, you know, unless you maybe quote the Bible. The only way to get rid of demons is to pray or to quote scripture, and even that won't work if you don't believe it, and trust me, I know people who have tried to get rid of demons and it's really hard...I will try to think of any "ghost" stories for later, but I can't think right now.

Since I have several encounters, here's another. One day I was really upset with my parents, it was around the holidays and I just needed to get away for a few hours. I went to the cemetary, don't ask me why, I was just drawn there. So I went and put flowers on my grandmothers grave. I was there and really upset, crying and all, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a old man standing at the foot of a grave and looking at me but it was like a look that went right through you. So I tried to ignore it and when I couldn't anymore, I looked up and he was gone. Just like that, he had no car and was old, I looked away for only a second and bam gone. Well, I got the hell out of that cemetary so fast, I'm suprised I didn't get a ticket!

~V~ First off SGH, my grandmother used to tell me us kids the same kinds of things. As for the Ouija boards. It doesn't really have supernatural powers. The glass moves from the vibrations you make. It's like when you tell someone not to look at something and they still do even when they try not to. I know too many people who think the board is evil but, it's just a game.

Like hell it is. My friends mother freaked out on us one time because we had one. She literally took it and threw it out the door. Then she told us when she was younger her and a friend were playing around with one and they were asking it all sorts of questions like who they were gonna marry and it told exactly who she was gonna marry. Then they questioned who the spirit was and where they were and the board spun up in the air and smashed into pieces. I have one, but it is not a toy and I understand that and never use it irresponsibly, that is how people get possessed!

Alot of people tell that story. I've heard it somany times that I don't even listen anymore. I also have one of the special ones. It doesn't look like the Milton/Bradley one at all. I have a milton one and I don't screw around with it! Anyway here is another encounter. Again they just seem to flock to me. I had a friend who had an anyorizm at 31, two weeks before Christmas. I knew she was gone before they told everyone at work that day. I saw her the night before giving me instruction on my new job, which I didn't know I was getting, but she did. For a year she kept coming to me in dreams, at least that what I thought, but I was consious. One day after I had finally gotten comfortable in her position at work, I decided it was time to let her spirit go, so I went to the cemetary and put flowers on the grave and said, how much I appreciated her friendship and her help, but it was time to let go, and with that she never came to me again.

The only ghost storys I have r these. The place where I stayed w/my brother, his wife, & my niece & nephew...well Jennifer & the neighbor who livesed where I do now went into their bedroom & susposedly felt a cold chill in the middle of the master bedroom. The only thing I felt was the celing fan which was on. Jennifer(Brother's wife) claims that my late Step-Father haunts my Mother's place. O by the way I don't believe in ghosts...never seen 'em.

Apparently the house where we used to live may have been a tad on the spooky side, not that my parents, sister or me ever saw/felt anything creepy, but here goes:
My Uncle and Aunty were house sitting for us while we went on holiday. Anyway my aunty had always been kinda creeped by the place, she didn't like going into the back of the house. She went into the bathroom one morning - which was at the back - and the bathroom door locked and wouldn't let her back out. When she did get out, she left the house and never went back. We moved a few years after that, but nothing creepy like that ever happened to any of us.
(Still in two minds as to whether she's making it up)

Here's another. I had a really bad case of the flu and I was running like a 103.5 temperature and I was just miserable. It was on New Years Eve and I didn't have the strength to get out of bed or sit up. I was so out of it, my doctor was pissed at me for not going in sooner, but I had work to do, so I just figured I would get better. Well that night, I was groggy and wanted to fall asleep but I couldn't because the temperature was making me chilled even with 5 blankets on me. So I was rolling over and over and over. Well I felt someone put their hand on my forehead to check my temp and then took my wrist to check my pulse. I looked up and there was my grandmother. She was a nurse and passed away when I was only 7, she was checking on me. By the way my room was my grandmothers old bedroom.

I never really made my mind up if my uncle was fibbing or not, but he told us a story that happened to him once.
South Africa's most famous story is of the Uniondale hitchhiker, where the ghost of young Maria Roux climbs onto the back of motorcycles and then unleashes an hysterical scream before vanishing.
What apparently happened to my uncle, is that he did pick up a woman that matched young Maria's description in Uniondale (near Pretoria), only she didn't scream, he just got a feeling to look back and noticed she had vanished.

Yet another, all the creepy things happen to me. When I was in junior high, there was an abdandoned home set back in the woods that had been deserted for close to a hundred years. Well the one day my friends and I took a dare to go in the house and explore it. My friends chickened out at the last minute, so went in while they waited outside. I went in and took a flash light, the home was boarded up and it was really dark inside. I went in through a window and searched the inside. It was so and rickety. Anyway I started to make my way up the stairs and I felt a cold breeze wiz by me, it was May, there was no cold breeze! As I approached the top of the stairs, the transparent figure of a man came into sight and I got the hell out of that house so fast I literally dove through the window I came in and ran like hell with my group of screaming friends in toe. Needless to say I never went back in that house. The house was destroyed in a fire about 5 years later, thank god!

I personally have never gotten to experiance such an event, however, a college I attended '94 - '96 was purported to have several haunted buildings. A custodial lady - I know her to be a straight arrow, no nonsense, not given to fantasies type of person - was cleaning the music hall & had just closed the windows on one side of the building & was getting the windows on the other side when, she once told me, she heard a grating noise behind her & when she turned around, they were all open again!
The main building where I worked as a switchboard operator had, in the 1800's been all there was of the college back then. 2 & 3 floors were the girls' dorm rooms & below were the classrooms. A young girl of a well to do family supposedly got herself in the family way &, depending on which version you hear / believe, either hung herself in the bell tower / was hung by the young suitor (cad?). In any event, a night watchman once enthralled me while I was manning the switchboard one evening with a tale of how he'd escorted a local maintanance worker up to the 3rd. floor to do some routine checking of the wiring, but waited for him at the 2nd. floor door while he worked, only to have the door hit him in the nose as the plumber bolted through it! The man explained to the night watchman that, while he'd been working he'd begun to hear what sounded to him like a shower running but when he went to where the noise was, nothing! That part of the building has no working plumbing in it due to being abandoned & closed off.
Well, that's about all I can remember for now. BTW - I worked the evening shift the whole 3 years I was at that college.

I was walking home one day after college, and i spotted a young man walking towards me, and he was really fit he was about 28 - 30, anyway i smiled at him and he smiled back and i looked down cause that's what i do when i like someone, and i get al nervous. And then i looked up and he was gone.
And i know what your going to say, ''maybe he went into a house'', well there was a feild on one side and another feild on the otherside.
So i looked just in case, he was hiding somewhere or something but there was no bushes or anything.

And another. I used to work for a company that had a warehouse/office and on the third floor, which no one used, they kept all of the accounting data. I went up there alot to pulled invoices and file. This only happened to me, the lights would flicker, and the doors would sway, even when there was no breeze, I would hear footsteps and there would be no one there. After the first couple of times when I realized this wasn't my imagination, I made someone go upstairs with me.

That reminds me of when I quit my janator job. It was grave yard shift, literally. I was working at a church and the set things up for a funeral the next day. I had to vacume the main room where they were keeping the casket. Guess when my last day was.

This just popped up in me head. Thanks to Draco for refreshing my memory.
A couple of years back, no i'm not that old, my brother and i were watching this program. These kids were kicking a ball around and the ball bounced downstairs into the cellars, so they sett off to find the ball. Suddenly this skeleton jumps out at them and at the same time, our power went out (it was quite stormy outside).
It scared the bejeebus out of my bro, he shook like a leaf in a tornado.

And another, I went to a funeral for my grandmother on my dads side of the family. I was sitting down in one of the chairs and I just saw this shadow walking around the room and then I felt the area near me get extremely cold. I turned and out of the corner of my eyes, there was grandma! Well, needless to say I wanted to get the hell out of there, but unfortunately I couldn't. I just think she was around because she was such a bitch in life that heaven typed reject on her head and sent her back down!

I can't believe I forgot this one, except I'm really not sure what to classify this as. Well three days before my dad ended up in the hosiptal when he was diagnosed with cancer, I had a dream that he was young again, around mid thirties and he had a smile on his face and said bye to me and that he loved me. I just shook it off, and then when I got the phone call from my uncle that my dad was in the hospital I freaked!

I get that alot but, not that close to the actuall event. I've had alot of dreams about things that end up happening in the future. The scariest one was the school shooting in Colorado, about three months before it happened I kept having dreams about the kid they showed falling out the window.

Wish i could see my g'ma or something, lost both of em very suddenly. Never knew the one much except for the week before she died, she started telling me all about her life and showing me photos.
My other g'ma was the one who taught me to "curse like a sailor" he he he. I loved em both very much.

I'm not trying to sound meen but, some people have and others don't. I have dreams about most of the people I've known and lost through the years. I'd say to just ask around and go through the photo albums. That's helped a few people I know.

The dreams I have are fortelling ones. Just like the one about my dad, but ususally like GL said not that close to the event. It usually happens in advance about six months in the case of my friend Sindy. And it also happens if someone just pops into my head, I know they are either sick or gone. Its wierd and creepy but the whole side of my moms family has this, so I am kinda used to it.
Here's a few things I thought of, though only the first one could be classified as a ghost story:
1. There was this one window on a house in the town where I used to live. It had a reflection of a street going uphill. One day in the summer of 2000, I found something really strange about it. I saw a boy, around 15 or so coming down the hill. I said coming, b/c he wasn't walking, but floating and he had red eyes. I turned around to look at the actual hill, and he was gone. Later, when I told my sister and her friend about it, they naturally didn't believe me. So, while me and my sis' friend looked at the window, my sis went up the hill and stood halfway up. It was weird b/c she looked kinda grey like a ghost. The friend kinda freaked out and my sis came back and we told her what happened, then me and my sis watched while the friend went up halfway. She looked grey too, but a little darker. Then suddenly she went all white-see through. When she came down, she said she had repented of her sins (we're christians, btw...) She went back up and this time a black spot appeared on the whiteness. When she came back down she said she had cussed. From then on, my sis and her friend called that window the mirror of truth.
2. I had 2 separate weird dreams. The first was of my grandpa on my dad's side after he died. In the dream, I was talking to him and he looked like he always had to me. Then after awhile he said he had to go, and that he loved me. He dissapeared and I woke up. The same thing happened after my grandma on my dad's side died.

When my friend Sindy passed away it was very sudden, she was only 31 at the time, so you wouldn't think that a 31 year old would die. She had an anyorism, it burst in the office two weeks before Christmas. So we all went to the funeral and I came back to the office and I saw a bunch of the guys I worked with hanging around in one of offices moping around. I turned to them and said, Sindy wouldn't want you all to mope, comeone lets remember how good a person she was, but with smiles instead of tears! Well all of a sudden a huge rainbow appears and its right outside the window, when I am done and everyone is feeling a little better, the rainbow disappears!

This is really still in prgress.
Two weeks ago I came to stay with my Great Grandfather to help take care of him as he was on his death bed. He was being moved back and forth between a rest home and the hospital which were two places he didn't want to be. So he was brought home to die and my grandmother and I were here to monitor him and call everybody when he was gone.
So last monday he passed while my grandmother was on the phone, as soon as she hung up the phone she said she saw a really bright light coming from the hallway and thought it was me. When she went to see, I was still asleep and she checked on my gandfather for the last time. Obviously he was gone then.
Well since then I've still been living on my Great grandfather's ranch keeping an eye on things and witnessing things that are pretty hard to explain. Like last wednsday I went somewhere with my grandfather, but I forgot my glasses. Before we pulled out of the drive way, they were on my face. It just happened.
The next day I was watching TV and the lights started flickering as if it was a power serge, but the TV stayed on without any problems. I've never seen anything like that before. Just lastnight I was able to hear my great grandfather's voic as if he were calling me like he was the night he came home. I even heard him say ,"Everything is alright.: , which was the last thing he ever said to me.
The weird thing is that nne f this scares me like it should. It's almost like I'm enjoying it, even though I used to have nightmares about this place. I swear this ranch reminds me of the house from Night of the Living Dead, except the only way to the basement is outside. It's really scary looking at night, especially if it's foggy. What really freaks me out is at night the heater starts making this noise like someone is banging on it. It never does that in the day time though and I didn't notice it until last week. Maybe I'm thinking about it too much, but the glasses thing still makes me wonder. It's not like the rings I usually wear are like the one the guy in my avatar wears. So I know I'm living on haunted land.

That is freaky!!! But I will say that right after a person passes they do not necessarily go right to the other side. In Russia for instance it is a custom to cover all the mirrors in the house for 40 days until the spirit has fullfilled its progress to the other side. I know this because I worked with a lady who was right off the boat. Her father passed away about 2 years after they came here, and she was following the custom, when she got a call from her cousin one day, who they all called the witch because she claimed she could talk to people, well she told my co-worker that her father was pissed at her because not only did she have the mirrors covered but she also had the TV off and he missed his favorite show. Well needless to say the TV was on after that!!!

I don't remember all the ghost stories I've been told or read. What I have to share with you all are only what must have been waking dreams.
In my second year of college I decided to live in an apartment instead of the dorms. I didn't have a lot of stuff then. The only thing I had for a bed was a new futon. Anyway, I lived on the third floor of an old apartment building near school. One night, I thought I woke up and saw people walking into my flat and moving around. I felt too groggy to get up or even feel afraid. But I was aware that two people were kneeling beside my futon. One was at the right, and the other behind me at the head of the futon. I didn't say anything when I saw these people. They didn't say anything either, but I knew were both looking at me. I then reached out and ended up grasping the hand of the girl (how did I know it was a girl?) who kneeled over my head. That touch felt as real as can be. I soon woke up and saw nobody in my apartment. Nothing was missing so I don't think I was being robbed.
The only other time I dreamed of feeling a real touch was after my father's funeral. I was so saddened by his death. Two nights later, I dreamed that I was awake in my bed crying when I felt my father's hand hold mine to give me comfort. I didn't look up to see if it was him. I only believed that it was him who grasped my right hand. Unless that was Jesus or an angel, I believe my Dad's spirit had visited me.
Now here's the scary stuff. I dreamed that somebody had given me a dire warning. Now I've had nightmares that the Devil was after me. Being raised a superstitious Catholic does that to some people. I even dreamt once that Old Ben rose from the sand underneath me. But one night, during the third year of college, I had a different nightmare. I can't remember the dream before it (I sometimes have multiple dreams after another.) But I saw this person warning me to stay away from another person. I got the feeling this guy was pure evil, as evil as they come. The messenger kept shouting to me his name and then I felt that that same person had heard him (him?) and came looking for us. I don't know where I was or the person warning me. There was no clear setting in this nightmare. But I felt so afraid that I woke up and THEN I heard a woman's voice above me repeat the name of the evil man. I looked up and saw nobody there. Makes sense since there's nothing but ceiling above me. I forgot the name in the morning and hope I never remember it.
Those are my personal ghost stories. By the way, I don't know if this makes any difference, but as far as I remember, my dreams are in color. Someone said that dreams are in black and white, but not mine.

I had a tape of something scraping against the wall in my closet(I got suspicious and placed a recorder in there). There area few pictures that have orbs in them. There was a old guy that live in this house before the people my parents bought it from. His name was Mr. Pillsbary. That explains why I go "HEE-HOO" whenever someone pokes my stomach.

Here's a fun one for you! At my old high school, the gym is haunted by our first mascot. It was a small horse that was kiddnapped by some students from the crosstown high school about 40-50 yrs. ago. They had painted him black and then released him. He died three days after he was found and cleaned up from the lead in the paint. Funny thing about it....our mascot's name was Spirit. We had one other horse(Spirit II)that was done the same way, From that point on in Texas, no one was allowed to have live animal mascots. Spirit is still our mascot, but is now the highest ranking girl who tries out for cheerleader and doesn't make the cut.

Ok lets see...One time at my grandmothers house in San Angelo my dog ,Max, started barking, growling, and I mean really growling ..That dog growl that sounds like a death threat, and hes a big dog so it was wicked scary...Anyways he was growling at the sliding glass door so I went to see what the hell he was getting all Kujo over..So I'm lookin out the door and theres absoluely nothing there...Its was pitch black but I think with the moon and all I would've seen something...Just to add my grandmother lives like in the woods, deer, racoon and all those kinds of critters...If there was something out there you would've seen the reflectionin their eyes from the lights in the house and the ones outside...So I'm looking out the window with Max next to me going all "Kill"and wicked protective...So I sat there for a good 5 mins. looking for something but never saw ANYTHING....I was outa that living room so fast, I don't think I've ever been that scared before......We called my grandmothers friend down the street to come and look for us and everything...Its was soooo damn spooky...I wouldn't go back in the living room all night .....Not till the next day while the sun was out.....
Ok another one is when I use to live in Alabama with my mom and her current boyfriend, we were living in this apartmen at the time, I had to sleep on the couch and you could see straight into the kitchen from where I was sleeping, so I woke up one night and when I looked into the kitchen I saw these black, shadowy kinda figures walking through the kitchen...Going towards the phone, looking like they where answering it, looking like they where getting in the freezer...Then this other time I woke up with a cord from the speakers around my throat....I thought it was a dream or something......I don't know.....
Ok one more ....Theres these railroad tracks up in Dallas or around it , somewhere around here, where these kids in bus(I think) got hit by a train...Now if you go up to those tracks and put baby powder on your car, and stop on them, the kids will push you off, and if you look back where the baby powder is on your car theres suppost to be little hand prints.....
Is that no live mascot thing in Texas for the highshools only??Because UT has Bevo....Thats live mascot.....

Then three years ago on Halloween when my sister was gone somethign knocked on the door to her room. I was on the couch which is about 15 feet away from her door. My mom and dad were calling out to her to see if she came back in. Needless to say I didn't sleep at all that night, nor did I move from the couch or turn off the t.v. .

Worth and all that........If you go to White Rock Lake there suppost to be like a lady floating on the top of the lake or something...I don't remember that one to well....I've only heard about it once or twice....I don't like the dark now because of the shadowy figure incident but it only happened that one time sooooo I don't know....And if I saw a figure at the end of my hall with no feet and not moving I'd go hide somewhere or scream ...I don't know which since I'm not a screamer...These days I'd probaly shrug and go 'cool I've seen a ghost now!'.....So I'm gonna go with my 'If I ignore it, its not there' routine.....

Well here is a weird one .. when I was in Jr. High School, I took a year of French for language class .. the teachers name was Ms. Sartan, she was one of the most unusual, but genuinly nice and kind hearted person I've ever met.
Anyway, on the first day of class Ms. Sartan told us that while she was visiting France on her honeymoon she stayed in a haunted hotel and that a poltergist (that she had named Irving) that lived there followed her home, so if anything strange happened in the class not to give it any mind that it was probably just Irving.
She told us all kinds of stories about things that happened in the years since her honeymoon ... to be perfectly honest I always thought she was a bit of a kook myself, but after being in her class a for a while, we all did notice that strange things would happen from time to time. Erasers, books and so forth would fall off shelves for no reason, things that were there one minute would disappear the next .. it got to be REALLY spooky after a while.
To tell the truth, I never really beleived in Irving that much until one day. We got a new student in our class about 1/2 way through the year .. Lourdez was her name .. OH MAN was she NASTY .. the day she came into class there was only one seat available so Ms. Sartan told her to just sit there and we would get a new desk by the following day. Well during the class some erasers fell off the blackboard sill .. Ms. Sartan looked up and told Irving to stop it (something the rest of the class was pretty used to by now) but Lourdez not knowing what was goin on sot off her mouth and in a very nasty tone said "who the hell is this crazy woman talking to" not 2 seconds after her saying that, the bookshelf that Lourdez was sitting in front of collapsed knocking her upside the head with about a dozen or so French books.
NO ONE was near that bookshelf ... coincidence ... maybe ... but as for me from that moment on .. I was a firm beleiver. :)

While this isn't really a "ghost story" per say, I remember reading this story in the Reader's Digest ... keep in mind according to them, this was a TRUE STORY.
There was a young girl that was diagnosed with a terminal illness (I honestly can't remember from what though), she was an artist and before she passed she began painting a portrat of her "dream man." When the girl passed on the doctors asked her mother if she would consider donating her organs for transplantation, the mother knowing her daughter would want this agreed and signed all the papers.
According to the story about a year or so later, the mother received a telephone call from a guy that said that he had received her daugther's cornia's which restored his sight. He asked the mother if he could come and see her to pay his respects to both her and her daughter and once again the mother agreed. A few days later the mother recevied a knock on the door and greeted the young man. The mother told him that he looked strangly familier to her. After some breif conversation, the mother went upstairs to show the young man some pictures of her daughter and some of her work.
While going through some of her paintings, YOU GUESSED IT, they came across her last painting of her "dream man" .. there was NO DOUBT it was the same guy !! And the freakiest part of ti was that the only portion of the portrat that was painted prior to her death was the eyes !!
I remember that they showed a picture of the guy and the portrait and there was no denying it was him !!

I said in my last post that it's story still in progress and just as things seemed to be getting back to normal, I've noticed some more strange things around this huse.
Lately when I'm the only one in the house I've been hearing footsteps and other movement thrugh the huse. I know some of it is due to a rat problem that I've been trying to get rid of while I've been here, but the footsteps sound like someone my size. I've even noticed shadows that shouldn't be in the room with me, in fact I can see one now. The weirdest thing is that I've started fallowing some of my grandfather's old habits in the past two days. The reason I think it's so weird is because of the last time we spoke to each other.
Exactly two weeks ago when My grandfather came home from the hospital I was up all night to keep an eye on him. At one point I went in his room to see how he was and he put both hands on my face, looked me in the eyes and said, "Everything is alright."
I beleved him and went back to the living room and listened for him to call me again, but he never did. That was the last thing he ever said to me. Now I've been wondering if I'm just imagining that his spirit is still in the house or if it really is. The strangest part is that I'm copying his old actions.
My grandmother told me today that I was sitting in my grandfather's favorite chair and staring out the window like I was waiting for someone to come, when I asked how long she told me it was two hours. I don't remember it, but I took her word for it. I was told I've been doing other thing like my grandfather too, but I don't want to go into detail rightnow.
I'm thinking of calling a priest tomorrow to calm me down if nothing else, I really hope I'm just stressed ut or something.

The other morning I was the first one in the office, and where I work is an extremely old town, founded in 1666. The office building is pretty new but strange stuff happens alot here. So I just put my jacket on the hook in my cube when I hear footsteps, now I had just disengaged the alarm and no one else was here yet so I thought I was hearing things, it sounded like someone was coming around the corner to which I grabbed my letter opener and was getting ready to nail someone good. Then the sound was gone. I inspected the entire office and no one was here, and believe me if someone came in the office I would have heard it because the door we come in lets out one hell of a shriek when its opened, which is how they keep an eye on you.

I'm not sure what it is, but, something is wrong with my house, we think its haunted by my Grandmother (god bless her soul), because, once or twice Dad would talk about the flaws my Grandmother had, (they didn't get along that well), and his phone would cut off EVERY time he mentioned something bad about her, and we've spotted Mom talking to herself, and she says shes talking to her mom, BUT, there's no phone Anywhere, so, I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure there;s something strange in my house

In my home town, there is this old Pioneer cemetary. There is a creepy portion of the cemetary waaaaay in the back, where the trees grow close together.Back there, you'll find a drop off point. Now the headstones go right up to the drop off point, so you figure its possible that at some point in the past, erosion causedsome graves to crumble away into the vegatation at the bottom of the cliff. One of the graves in this back area is marked "Unknown Man" and me and a friend once found an alter made of sticks sitting on this grave and the remains of an animal sacrifice a few feet away. All in all, a creepy area.
Once I visited the cemetary with a pocket tape recorder, another time with a disposable camera. While neither time did I personally see or hear anything, I may not have been alone.
playing back the microcassette, its mostly noise of birds chirping, wind blowing, my feet stomping through the grass, etc. Until one point when the tape reaches a part where I pointed it at a stone slab/grave(?) with no markings, a brief echoing "moan" is clearly heard.
All of the photos I took came back okay, except for one of a tree which seems to be obscured by a foggy, smoky mass. I assure you it was a clear, if overcast, day and the other pictures on the roll can attest to that.
I could be wrong. Maybe there is a logical explanation. Maybe.... :)

Okay, srf's story reminds me of something that happened ten years ago at my old house.
Before I get started I have to give some back story. I used to hang out with alot of pot heads back in high school. So during the summer of 94 I had a three month long party at my place.
Early in July there was a metior shower that showed up really clear over my house. It kind of looked like the fake floating ghosts from the haunted mansion at Dinseyland. So here I was sitting on my favorite black velvet couch in my back yard with my friends, they were stoned and I wasn't. At least that time I wasn't because that was when I decided to quit.
So here we are on the couch and we all see these things flying over my house like a bunch of ghosts and my friends started freaking out. My friend Eddie even wet his pants. After watching this for about a half hour someone came outside and asked, "Can you guys see the metior shower?"
I turned to Eddie and started laughing because he pissed his pants. I got thrown into my pool for laughing, but it was too funny. The best part is without planning it, it turned into the best practical joke I pulled that year. All I did was mention the house was haunted and a bunch of stoners freaked while seeing some lights in the sky.

Just the other night I was getting ready for bed and I heard some noises coming from behind a chair in the living room. I didn't really think it was anything to worry about, but I looked anyway.
I looked around and didn't see anything, then I heard a voice. Not one that I knew either. That's when I went to get the shot gun. I thought we had some unwanted visitors and I figured I should get rid of them. Well when I turned around I saw a shadow on the wall and it wasn't mine.
I just forgot about the shotgun then and ran to get some new pants. Yes I said it.
I know it wasn't a burgler like I thought, but it was still unwanted.

The other night I made some hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for my family as we were discussing the days events about my dad. I had finished the cooking and we were sitting down to eat. I made a comment on how my dads mom was like the bitch from hell and all of a sudden the baked beans exploded out of this bowl and landed all over us!! What a mess!! I knew that woman was evil. Time to visit the Santaria!!!

My Grandma is back!!!! Last night I was visiting my Dad in the hospice and he was nodding off and on. So I was sparringly watching the TV and glancing over the pictures we brought him from his apartment. I looked over at my grandma's picture, the witch, and said you know if you loved your son, you would take him because he is suffering so bad. Thats when I noticed that YIKES the lips on the picture were moving and saying something. No I am Not a Loon. I couldn't figure it out, but those lips were a movin!!! I mean YIKES!!! So to make sure I wasn't losing it I looked away and looked back and sure enough moving!!! So then I noticed that eyes and facial expression on the picture was changing as well. Thats when my Aunt's & Uncle showed up, thank god, and saved me from god knows what!!! YIKES, still have the heevy jeeveys!!

I can honestly relate to that. Over the last three weeks I've been seeing stuff like that at the ranch. It did freak me out at first, but since they're not making noise I've started to get used to it. If I start hearing voices though, well I'll be locked away in the wacko basket.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Now my dad is seeing someone. MBN has seen him looking into space too, so I know its not just me. He is lying there and staring at different areas of the room and moving his lips but nothing is coming out. He was pointing to something the other day and there was nothing there. When we asked him he didn't recall. He was trying to hand someone a wash cloth the same way. So I know someone is in that room. I can feel it too!

My grandfather was the same way. He was always looking into space and talking to someone. I know I mentioned that before, but it's common I guess. It's someone close, I know that. It could be an old relative or a friend, but it's deffinately someone watching over you guys, not just your dad.

My new office is totally haunted. I went in on Saturday because I needed to catch up with some things and as it turns out I still didn't finish. So I am in there, mind you the air conditioning said the temp was 75, but it was colder than an ice box in there. I heard desk drawers opening and closing and footsteps. I went and checked all of the offices and cubes but there was no one in, and as it turns out no one else in the building period. I checked with my co-workers who are often here late into the night and they complained about the same thing. Except they told me that they high tailed it out of here, and they couldn't believe I stayed. I also had this sensation that someone was breathing on the back of my neck and I kept turning around but again no one was here.

I think my rooms haunted or it could be my imagination, anyway a few years ago me and my sister each got a black tile clock with cats at the bottom of it, and on my clock has my cat's name and on her clock has her cats name on it (who we had to have put down), and the battery's in my clock have run out so i took them out and it only works with battery's in it, anyway it had stopped at 8:10 pm and i looked at it awhile later and the time had changed to twenty to 7, and now it's changed again and now says 8:43. And i've asked all my family if they've changed the time but they told me they hadn't, so it's either a ghost or i'm imagining it, but i can hear noises as well, a faint ticking and i go over to the clock to see if it's that but it isn't.

We'll here I go again. This weekend I spent a great deal of time at my Dads apartment tagging and bagging stuff for an apartment sale to get rid of all the stuff before I have to dump it. I felt my Dad around us the whole time, I mean you could feel him just being there. My Brother got shitted on by a goose when he went to take out the trash. A saw came off a hook and scrapped up my leg. And when my sister was tagging stuff with me, an egg timer kept going off but no one was even by it. Then on Sunday, MBN and I went over so I could use my Dads saw to cut down some shelves for her kitchen. I felt him standing there again. Its like you can't see him but you certainly know he is there. We left after that and came back later in the evening to chit chat. We were sitting the the bar area when I felt the same presence all over again. MBN was sitting accross from me in a chair because she saw me staring out into space and was concerned, I really thought I was gonna get a glimpse of My Dad. Then I felt something tug at my shirt, and turned around. Nothing was there and MBN was like what. Right after that I felt something touching my back, it was light at first and then there was more pressure, It was a hand on my back and it wasn't MBN's. It was my Dad, I knew it and started crying hysterically. But smiling because I knew it was him and he had visited me but not in a scary way like I had asked him. After I had calmed down and started to feel a bit better, I felt something else, it was another presence, but not a nice one, it was one that didn't want me there, I told MBN that I wanted to go, I didn't want to be there, and began crying all over again so we left, it took me a good hour to stop shaking because there was this sinister presence there that I never want to feel again. It was like we were interrupting something, this presence was there for and I have never felt so much dread from anything like it. I wish I could put it into words but it is really hard. It wasn't something I saw, but felt. My stomach went ill and knotted up and my head and heart just said it doesn't you here, leave and we did in a hurry!

I can relate to some of that story, but not all of it. I'm still in the prosess of tagging and bagging stuff to get rid of at the ranch, but unfortunately I'm there with a pack rat which is why it's taken four months longer than it should have.
Every now and then I'd get a feeling like the one srf just described, as if I'm not wanted. I've gotten used to that feeling though. I only get it when I drink some of my grandfather's rum, but he drank alot so I'm guessing that's why I'm not wanted sometimes.
Aside from that feeling though I do have a question. Why would you ask someone to do a scary visit?

I didn't ask for a scarey visit. I didn't want a scarey visit because being woken up in the middle of the night and having someone at the foot of my bed not the way to have a good nights sleep ever, after that! I asked him not to scare me, so make it something light which he did.

Okay, I missunderstood then. But sometimes being woke up with someone at the foot of the bed can be a good thing, then you wont care how much sleep you get.
Gee who did that sound like. lol

LOL!! Your right depends on who is doing the waking up!!!
Also found out from a co-worker that the spirits of the dead wander for 40 days and 40 nights and then they go to heaven!

Ok I had another encounter this morning, and it was two times today. I was in this morning and by myself totally when my boss who sits right next to me, her computer started up all by itself. Then I went to the ladies room and I had just walked out of the stall and the door was really stiff so it stayed where I wanted it to I looked over and it started moving all by itself, I mean that door was done moving and then it started again!!

I suppose this would count as one, though I really don't put much stock in this sort of thing. Actually, I just think it borders on weird coincidence, but, whatever.
So, a couple of weeks ago, I was on foot patrol inside the Midrise, making sure that the unoccupied areas stayed unoccupied. Residents have a habit of hanging out in executive areas - especially when the executives have gone home for the day. Anyways, I was on the seventh floor and noticed a shadow behind the closed blinds of an office door. Knowing that the room was supposed to be unoccupied, I cautiously approached. I figured I'd grab the door knob and thrust the door open. If the door was locked, I'd have alerted someone to my presence, but I was betting on the door being unlocked. What I was betting on was that when I thrust the door open, it would hit whoever was behind it, stunning them long enough to give me the advantage I needed. So, imagine my surprise when I thrust open this door to find that the room was completely unoccupied. I looked around the entire office - no one home. Later, I checked the same door - no shadow either. Weird. :um:

That's a trip.
I don't have a new story to tell at this time, but I'm gonna be spending the weekend on a local college campus with a haunted building there. If anything strange happens I'll be on here to tell about it monday.

A friend of mine that does photography as a hobby of his decided that him and a couple of his friends would try to spend the night in a famous haunt in franklin township. Its a 17th century farmhouse that has a very sad history behind it. Well they brought the sleeping bags and set up the equipment. And before they could get comfortable all kinds of things started to happen. Furniture moved, thanks to the caretakers of the property not dusting it was easy to see where the piece was and how it was dragged. Then the windows started opening and doors upstairs were closing and opening as well. To make a long story short, they got a picture of a male on the stair case, another one of a woman staring out the window and as they left that same night because there was no way they were staying there. My friend snapped a picture of a boy on the porch.
