Okay I have been collecting Supergirl comics almost as long as I have superman. But there is a problem, for a long time I wasn't into them so I didn't read them (especially when I was younger) but the last four or five years I got into them.

Now I need some things cleared up. Don't worry I know all about the Matrix, "Mae". And ofcourse Linda. I have in recent months read lots of my old comics, right now the number I've read (and this is just a count of the old ones, not the new) is over 850. Ofcourse only a few were supergirl. Though I may have some questions of old.

What I don't get is recent. Linda was sent back to our universe by the spector, and Kara sent to hers. Linda went back on one condition, her daughter was to live. In the end it showed her daughter in space, she very much looked like the new Supergirl in Superman comics. But that was the last, to my knowledge, Supergirl comic.

So here it is.

0 Why didn't Linda have the same powers that the Matrix had had.

1 is Linda still alive?

2 is the new Supergirl hew daughter?

3 Why aren't there any more Supergirl comics?

Please, if you are a know-it-all (exploitive deleted) who has only read a couple of the comics and thinks they have all the answers don't respond. I am looking for the actual answers, not whatever you can come up with.

0 - Linda did have most of the same powers that Mae did ... for example:

shapeshifting - since they merged she only changed from Linda to Supergirl .. you could only make two assumtions .. (1) either she could only change from Linda to Supergirl because of the bonding between the protomatter and the human flesh ... or (2) she could have changed more all along, but because the Linda personality was dominante .. she may not have ever bothered to try to go beyond that anymore.

telekinetic blasts - she used them quite often right down to the last few issues where she blasted Kara's ship out of the way.

flight and strength ... well those go without saying.

The only one she didn't use after the merge was really her invisibility ability.

The changes in powers could be simply that Linda's human form couldn't handle the same powers as Mae's form .. but to be honest it was never really talked about that I remember.

Also ... remember ... in the last few issues of SG .. Linda's Earth Angel (that bonded with Twilight) said that she restored as many of Linda's powers as she could ... so no one really knows what powers she may have now.

1) Yes Linda is still alive somewhere ... remember the letter in the final issue ... she wrote to Clark telling him that she couldn't handle being Supergirl anymore and she was basically "retiring" and not to look for her. Will this self imposed "retirement" be permanent is anyones guess .. my guess would be if DC gets enough letters and email they will bring Linda back.

2) No ... for what I can gather Ari is still living happily in the pocket universe that the Spectre created for her. Remember ... Ari was the daughter of Linda and Clark ... the "NEW" Supergirl Cir-el (as she calls herself) says that Clark and Lois are her parents and that she comes from the future. But of course nothing is written in stone in comicbooks so that may change as the story unfolds.

3) Very basically ... lack of sales ... Supergirl was really at the bottom of the barrel for a while there ... when Ed came on the book and they brought Kara into it there was some slim hope that the book would be saved .. but alas, it was too little too late. I'm sure there will be another Supergirl book in the future ... though which SG will be the main charactor will be anyones guess ... if Cir-el does well it will likely be her .. if not they will bring Linda out of retirement. (my vote goes to Linda of course)

I hope that answers your questions.

Elektra ... the last version of Supergirl (Linda) ended with issue #80 ... the new version (Cir-el) premiered in Superman # 192.

PS ... I honestly thought I could just let this slide ... but most of you know me by now .,.. I have a BIG MOUTH .....

DBZ there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for this kind of comment .. first of all .. your being a complete ass just by wording this final paragraph this way .... second sometimes there ISN'T an "actual" answer to certain questions ... so a persons best guess is all you might get.

Remember ... people who haven't read every book in creation might have have a different prespective on a situation because they don't have all of the "baggage" of pre-crisis material .... but that doens't make thier opinion any less valid than anyone elses.

Your questions are perfectly valid .. but ending it with a comment like this will likely just piss people off ... so if can't say something nice its better to not say anything at all.

You could have left that whole segment out and still have gotten all the answers you wanted.

"first of all .. your being a complete ass just by wording this final paragraph this way "

I was simply being honest.

"second sometimes there ISN'T an "actual" answer to certain questions"

and thats fine when there isn't an answer, but there were, or seem to be, to my questions.

"Remember ... people who haven't read every book in creation might have have a different prespective on a situation because they don't have all of the "baggage" of pre-crisis material .... but that doens't make thier opinion any less valid than anyone elses."

First off to this comment, the supergirl I asked about was completely post-crisses, so pre-crisses doesn't matter.
Second if they don't know much about it then they shouldn't answer, that is what I have stated, but with more aggressive words. But I never said their OPINION was less valid, I said I wanted the answers. Answers are normally facts, not opinions.
And please tell me if my logic about answers normally being facts is wrong.

And to your last two paragraphs, well that is your opinion.

"Being honest" shouldn't exempt one from being POLITE .. something you obviously haven't learned yet.

In any event .. I can't speak for anyone else on the boards, but in the future ... I'll personally be a bit more selective about answering questions which are worded in such a manner.

DBZ - If you want to be honest, that is one thing but please don't call people "asses" on this board. Respect is a must here - this is a friendly board and no attacks/insults will be tolerated.

I did not attack jesse (And I believe Jesse knows that, especially since I personally asked Him to answer my questions. which would go oposite to an attact based on the last paragraph that opened this thread).

Nor did I call anyone specific an ass. I apologize to any one hurt by my previous wordings, I just wanted some facts. Thus I set about to get them without having to wad through 50 thoughts that aren't completely right. And it worked.

So to some this post up, I respect Jesse and his opinions, I attacked no one specific, I apologized to those hurt (which none have claimed to be), and in the end I let one of my opinions be known.
i.e. "it worked."

Is it just me or does the new Supergirl comic made no sense and is pointless? In the first 7 issues. She is fighting with every team in DC. First the Justice Society,Then the Teen Titans,The Outsiders and finally the Justice League. Maybe I missed something along the lines in the comics and if I did. Tell me what I missed, because it makes no sense.

It's their way of a quick re-introduction as opposed to an initiation. They want to establish her place in the pecking order.

I'm with you, Oracle/Batgirl. The storylines have been non-existant (except for the Kandor story... which was almost kinda aborted without ever really finishing or solving anything). I think Red Mask must be right, because there doesn't seem to be any other possible reason for the random stuff they've been doing.
