Impulse

I've just noticed that their last names are men's first names.

Barbara "Gordon"

Helena "Kyle"

Dinah "Lance"

How weird. Anyone else notice that?

Dinah's last name on the show is actually "Redmond".

Impulse
06-14-2003, 11:19 PM
Well, that was legally. but since she ran away and she found her mother. it's actually Lance.

And on the forum it's said "Dinah Lance"

Well, that's because the forum was created before Dinah revealed her last name on the show. Everyone just assumed Dinah's last name was Lance.

The last name of Dinah's foster parents is Redmond; her birth mother's is Lance. She never said after meeting Carolyn which she goes by, although she did introduce herself to the Birds initially as Lance before Barbara's snooping revealed the name Redmond.

Wow that is reallly REALLY strange....wonder if the writer's noticed that? But you know something that I always find amusing in TV land is that generally in a tv series and even alot in the movies is that characters usually have simple, cool sounding names. Like in smallville Lana Lang....Clark Kent... I see it all the time....

I noticed in the daily T.V. shows and soaps that many girls have guy's first names as their last names.

Many of DC's male superheroes also had first names in their last names. It was probably a trend of some sort. You've got Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne.

Then there's

1. Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern
2. Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern
3. John Jones, or J'onn J'onzz the Martian Manhunter
4. Ted Grant a.k.a. Wildcat
5. Barry Allan, the Silver Age Flash
6. Stever Trevor

You get the idea.:p

Red Mask is the one that said it. And I was telling Red Mask that if Barry's last name was spelled correctly, it would'nt be a first name.

Impulse
06-19-2003, 01:32 PM
I guess that would be correct. Alan is more of a common spelling of a first name.

QUOTE: FrostBite, " Resse is a first name? "

I dont know if u meant that by not knowing that resse was a first name or what, but I just thought by u saying that u did'nt know that Resse was a first name.

Oh, right. Well, at the time I didn't think it was a first name, but by the name that you said that, I knew otherwise.
