U KNOW WHAT RG, DONT EVEN WORRY ABOUT THAT PHYCO MANIAC. HE CAN KISS OUR *******************************, WELL U GET THE PICTURE. PLUS HE'S REVIEWING THE VERY FIRST EPISODE AND WE ALL KNOW THAT IT WAS'NT THE BEST EPISODE( well it was rated # 6 on my list. I for 1 liked that episode.) I BET THAT OVERGROWN DEMON WOULD CHANGE HIS MINED BY THE TIME HE GOT TO NATURE OF THE BEAST. IF NOT ( useing the quotes from Huntress in Nature of the Beast....) I WILL TAKE HIM DOWN, DO U UNDERSTAND ME AND NOT U OR ANYONE ELSE WILL STOP........ HE'S MY FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woops, sorry, got too much into the episode. But u get my point.

I wouldn't take it to heart.

If you'll notice the URL, it's an ARCHIVED issue (meaning: it's somewhat old). We don't know when this was originally published.

It's a snapshot of someone's POV at a particular moment, nothing more.

I know that but it still makes me mad! :fume:

We've heard of plenty of reviewers not too thrilled with the show, and we're still here. Just let it roll off ya.

I think that's a fair review. All the faults the reviewer pointed out are correct (though he mistook Dinah Redmond for Dinah Lance) . If Birds of Prey was such a perfect show, it wouldn't've been canceled. It's time to face reality, everyone.

More than one show has had a lousy first season (The Roddenberry-era eps of ST:TNG are said to some of the show's worst).

The same can be said for Magnum, P.I. (Look at some of the early eps; the acting is wooden and the writing is forced. At that point in the series, neither cast nor writers had a clear grasp of the characters).

Anyone with a sense of history would've known this.

Furthermore, there is no such thing as a "perfect" show. No show is all things to all people (FTR, neither Buffy nor X-Files -- two shows that most people rave about for some reason -- appeals to me).

It's ultimately all a matter of taste.

(so he cant b that gud a critic) neway as his little brother summed up BOP as "HOKEY" im gonna sum up his article as: "SH***Y"!!!

Frostbite sed that the show cudn't hav been that fantastic 2 hav got cancelled!!! im sorry but ive gotta argue shows like Smallville copy Buffy and r following in the shows shadows!! Charmed is not liked by alot of the critics (SFX for example) so wot i jus wanna say is the BOP woz not ure typical everday Sci-fi show and thats wot i think peeped the wb off!! the show woz different and 2 other shows and wasn't copying nebody else!! finally i wanna finish by saying BOP may hav not bin a fantastic show but it woz a gud show and shud hav not bin cancelled!!!

Sorry 4 goin on but like Reese'Girl it p***es me off wen BOP gets slagged off!!:fume:

Sorry frostbite no offence 2 u i jus didnt agree with ure viewpoint and i watch smallville, charmed and buffy BUT im sorry if ive offended ne viewers of those shows!

*Sigh*

You people just don't understand. The guy's a critic, it's his job to point out all the wrong things. By doing his job, that does not make him "shitty". That makes him a good employee.

EVERY show has its flaws (Don't get me started on Star Trek: The Next Generation: Animatronic acting, formulaic plotting, leaden dialogue, a pompous and overbearing Captain Jean-Luc Picard ... ).

Say this on a Trek board and you'll be lucky to get out with your life!

You want to meet some REALLY anal-retentive fans? Try spending some time on a Trek BBS. ("This scene violates the continuity established in the Episode 'Blah Blah' in Season Four of 'Deep Space Nine'." )

You should see some of the Holy Wars that break out over the merits of Akira- vs. Constitution-class Starships.

Let's face fact. The first ep was not the best! But the show improved so much and the finale was fantastic! It was short sided on the part of the WB to cancel it prematurely.

And Sevenslave: There have been a lot of discrepentcies in the whole Star Trek saga. But to call Jean Luc pompous and overbearing is simply unforgivable! Your propably one of those who didn't find Bashir beautiful. (JK)

I wouldn't know about Bashir ... I never watched much DS9. ;)

EDIT: AE, I think Picard is a pontificating windbag as well. :p

SS: That's like saying that Shatner is the king of overacting or Troi's best assest is her buxom bosom.

I love BOP!!!! And if a guy wrote something evil of BOP in this board we can answer him, but we couldn't stop the opinion of the critics, we couldn't avoid hat many people disagree with BOP, and less if they are journalist and are doing his job, that's intolerance.

I'm not agree with him in all, but in several points yes, we were discussiong those points in this forum several times.

Another thing, the critics many times hates pictures that the people turns in sucesfully movies!! They could say and think anything, but the last word... We have it!!!! :p

In the mental battle, his mental self was killed. He lost his mental life, causing his physical self to "lose his mind".

Which wasn't "DEATH" as the reviewer put it.

Yes. He said that he "died in a mind battle".

Well, I guess I can see how it could go either way. But it was his job as the reviewer to be more specific. And you'd think he'd catch on to the fact that it was called "New Gotham" and not just "Gotham" and that there must be a reason for why the city looked the way it did

I love the show. It was one of my favorite shows. But all I'm saying is that it had many, many flaws, and everyone needs to be aware of that.

^ I'm sure that if you look closely enough, every show does.

Searching for the flaws within an otherwise decent TV show is, IMO, something akin to viewing a Van Gogh with a magnifying glass.

You run the risk of not seeing the whole picture.
