I think she looks very cool! That's why I chose her as my board handle :) I loved the kind of stuff she could do in the trailer, she is gonna kick some butt!

Its also an interesting concept having the daughter of a hero and a villian, it should be interesting to watch it play out, and see if she perhaps struggles at points with working out who she actually is...

yep, i agree completely...though, she didn't do a lot in the trailer :p

Which trailer did you see? I was referring to "Fall Launch" which can be found in the "Promotional" section, where she jumps up those steps, does the wacky thing with her eyes and does the kick... ;)

ohhhh, well, i was just referring to a tv commercial i saw :-p i only saw the same one a couple times...but lemme check out that section!

Yea, she is definitely perfect for this kick butt role. I thought she was good in Dark Angel too, this role seems kinda similar to her Dark Angel role.

I was thinking about "Dark Angel" actually, she is almost playing Max's role in a big way. I mean the two are very similar.

Okay, I admit, her hair really bothered me for a while. I just didn't like the cut; it reminded me of the recent haircut of Alyssa Milano's do. But then, as I watched her in trailers, I accepted it, and the even newer cut from the Fall Launch video, I like. I think she's going to play the part well; from what I've seen, she's got the attributes of her parents combined and it looks interesting. The trailers really got me interested and I've gotten over disliking the character's look.

Yeah that's what I didn't like at first either, the hair. It just didn't seem to fit, but now that it's been cut short and obviously been made darker, it works, and I hope she just does the character justice, since I haven't really paid much attention to the commercials and stuff. From the little I've seen, I'm sure she will. :)

i don't really have any dislikes about her appearance--it's fine ;)

Yea, Max was really huntress-like and she could kick @$$.

I was just thinking the exact same thing when I was looking at the Birds of Prey gallery a few days ago. lol

Like almost everyone said, the hair is kind of first thing that make me thinking about something. But then, I get over it and it start to look cool. I think she perfectly fit for the role. Even though maybe, Jessica Alba can fit too. But no offense for it heehee :D

Again, can't wait to see the show and see her action in it ;)

I agree. Ashley's a perfect "Huntress"/Helena. When I first saw her on Dark Angel in the second season premiere, I remembered seeing her in A.I. Artificial Intelligence. She's got such an interesting look, which really suits Helena/Huntress. Plus her experience on Dark Angel (watching Jessica Alba portray Max, do stunts, etc.) will give her quite an edge on the show. And ofcourse, she's quite a talent. :D

I think that Ashley worked hard and totally deserves this role. Her Character on Dark Angel could and should have been a lot more than it was allowed to be...shippers of the duo Max And Logan saw her as a obstical in their couples way and thus their treatment too the character seemed to weep into their views of the actress herself. In my opionion this led to the writers raising their hands in despair to keep please those shipper's and treat the character like a piece of erm....well nothing...cuz I'm in a good mood at the moment or else I might have said worse ;)

Although I haven't seen Ashley in anything but Dark Angel I could see an actress struggling with the lines and direction she was given a mile away and she didn't deserve that...and of course I state that with such confidence because to me the mere fact that she got this role through dedication and hard work...means that like so many of us...someone with the 'power' saw what we saw.

So amongst those last few remnants of babbling...I think I was trying to make some kinda of point or opinion...if you figure it out...email me a reminder so that tomorrow when I might read this back...I won't feel like such a twit..

I think there's alot of talent bubbling under the surface of what we were allowed to see in Dark Angel. The writer's didn't do much for her at all and what she was given to work with was shockingly bad. It's almost as bad as the way they wrote for their supposed 'Season One Leading Man' MW.

Looking forward to seeing her actually get to spread her wings and test some boundaries with BoP.

(Btw is it just me that thinks being called a BOP fan is kinda cool? Bop... it's just a word that brings a smile to your face no? hehe *takes her madness elsewhere*)

Lol you're not mad because I've been calling it BOP in MSN for a while now lol....just figured it's easier saying Bop than 'Bird Of Prey' in every line....Maybe lazy is more appropriate then Crazy *Laughs* :D

*puts it on and watches away*

:D

She does quite a lot in the trailer, kicks some ass, works in a bar, complains about Oracle wanting her to wear a costume etc. Some nice complicated bits in her :)

Only bad thing is perhaps some cheesy dialogue "I'm the Huntress and you're the prey"?? Ewww, no ;)

I think she deserves this role and that she will make a great job because she has talent and this character looks great for her

Bel

Though I gotta say her costume from the original pilot wasn't too amazing. I prefer the new one, far better :) And the new hairstyle too!

Yá, I guess she is perfect. Pretty and she kind of: gives life at the character.

i've never seen her before so i'm not sure if she can do a good job........but her look overall seems to fit the character........will make a better decision after seing the pilot

Bel
08-18-2002, 09:38 AM
Hehe, her looks changes after the pilot apparently, you'll have to judge again :) I prefer the new look, specially since that irritating flimsy coat thing has vanished. That was just wrong :)

Cheezy as it sounds, the line had to be used at least once to point out the 'Prey' issue for the less bright amoung viewers. You gotta believe that's why they use stuff like that at least once, otherwise, you'd lose complete faith in the writer's ability NOT to use crappy dialogue, lol.

Bel
08-18-2002, 10:12 AM
But it was just soooooooo cheesy. They better not do that again! :D I'll forgive them this time, but it was a small let-down in the pilot.

You've got to have a few cheesy lines in there at some time, don't you! I think it adds to the whole 'personality' of the show. Not that i've seen it yet. I just find it so funny when you listen to a cheesy line, and have to cringe. Hilarious!

Dark Huntress

As for common Cheesies amongst the Batman genre....can I just point out 'Kapowe', 'Bang', 'Smack' and 'Holy Batman' just as a few things amongst the many that the TV brought to our screens with Batman?

No Genre show is without it's cheese because it comes from comics...and I'm yet to see it change in films other other TV spin off's...they all find some way to bring it in there

Bel
08-18-2002, 04:00 PM
True true :) Heh, they could do a great spoof episode using 'Bang' 'Smack' and the others though! How's that for an idea?

"Holy rusted metal, Batman!"

Lmao, sorry, best I could come up with. It's from Batman Forever right? It was on not that long ago... mmmm Val Kilmer :)

Anyway, the best cheesies are ones that are delivered with a straight face. If Ash can do that, she'll have earned my respect, lol.

LOL! :p That is the funniest line ever. And speaking of Batman Forever, that's one movie that I know I've seen more than 20 times. And to think I was never a HUGE Batman fan, although I *am* a fan. :)

batman movie wise i only consider the first two.....the last two are non existent in my vocabulary.........cheese is always good

Bel
08-19-2002, 06:19 AM
Cheese is good in moderation. But yeah, the 1st two Batman movies were the best, lets not even think of the others :)

If Ashley can pull off the cheesy/funny lines, then go for it. But if she can't...... ewww. Let Alfred do it! :D

I didn't even think Batman Forever was good at all, LMAO. But still, I think I may have seen it more than 20 times since it came out. It's on TV quite a bit, plus we have the video, for some strange reason. The only thing I liked about it was Nicole Kidman. She's cool. :D

I never saw Batman Forever or Batman & Robin, and everything I've heard about them makes me glad I haven't. I think they sound awfully cheesy. If they had just done Tommy Lee Jones, I think that perhaps the movie could have been dark (well, okay, get rid of Joel Schumacher first) with him as a villain, but Jim Carrey? Does not impress me as an actor who could really fit in as the evil guy in a dark world. He just brings too much zany pep and over-the-top enthusiasm to his craziness. I prefer my evil more subtle.

Dark Huntress
08-19-2002, 12:12 PM
I actually enjoyed Batman Forever....Jim Carrey really did bring the 'Puzzler' character movie life....Tommy did an excellant job with 'Two-face' as well....anyhoo...Val Kilmer and Chris 'Thingie me bob' *swoon*

Batman and Robin...can I just say...Batgirl's cozzy? Those that know shall get what I'm on about just by saying those two words back there. They really made a mistake doing that costume in that way :)

Anyhoo, I think that Ashley will pull the lines when given them which after a few episodes I'm guessing will start to ease off with cheese and all....Still we'll have to wait and see....

Anyone give me a hint as to where I can download the pilot?

Bel
08-19-2002, 01:02 PM
Try IRC, the pilot is floating around, but you gotta look hard to find it. Could try the repost newsgroups...... That's about it. I can't offer it for download atm unfortunately.

The worst Batman villain for me was Arnie as Mr Freeze. Now that was scary only cos it was so awful!!!

Dark Huntress
08-19-2002, 01:22 PM
Yeah plus he went good at the end although I'm glad because ALfred didn't die but that's about the only reason....

Kazaa isn't helping at all...grrr...I'll just have to wait :) ( I didn't want the spoiler anyhoo)

Alfred is cool. I'm glad he's made it into BoP. He was definitely a good point in the pilot :)

Hello all,

I was watching the Dark Angel episode "Radar Love" again (for about the 5th time just to laugh)because it now has the funniest Dark Angel scene ever, the "I'm going to kick your a$$" scene. The scene where Asha gets her only opportunity to fight and doesn't kick anyone's a$$.
http://dawnzone.crosswinds.net/ashleyscott/gallery/da/big/da0204_39.jpg

At first it was embarrassing because I liked Ashley Scott and her character looked like a fool. But now that I've seen the BoP pilot and I know Ashley studied Tai Kwan Do and gymnastics it's just FUNNY.

I think she's going to be a good Huntress, it's too bad she didn't have a bigger role in A.I. She looks so much better with Dark Hair.
