Here is the link to the Entire column. Marc Berman of The Programmar Insider mentioned the campaign.

It lists the ratings for Sunday night but scroll down to the bottom and you will see a mention of the campaign:

Reader Feedback Forum:
Birds of Prey, Firefly and Friends

In a new regular feature of The Programming Insider, what follows are comments from readers on some of your favorite (and not so favorite) TV shows:

BIRDS OF PREY

"I thought I would put my two cents in on what has become a terrible initial four weeks for Birds of Prey. What makes Tollins/Robbins' other show, Smallville, a hit is the human element. It's the characters that drive the show -- more people caring whether Clark gets with Lana or Chloe, or that Pete actually has more to do than just fall into some trap. It's the triangles of Clark/Lana/Lex, Clark/Lana/Chloe, Clark/The Kents/Lex, etc. that have made this show a real winner. Birds of Prey is too far into the fantasy world and not enough into the characters.

Who is Harleen Quiznel other than the Joker's former girlfriend? What motivates Barbara to continue to fight crime even though she is confined to a wheel chair put there by the criminal element she attempts to fight? How did the Huntress discover her mantle? Where did Batman go?

For Birds of Prey to work it needs more human villains and more character-driven stories. There is so much more to the characters than just mega human hi-jinks."

Hopefully enough people can make the difference. Birds has too much potential to be cancelled like this.

Marc mentioned Birds of Prey twice today in his Programming Insider column. He mentioned Lori Loughlin's guest star appearance and warned that "If ratings for the freshman drama drop even further tonight, it could be over for the dark, but appealing new hour. "

Hopefully, the promos for Lori Loughlin's appearance as Black Canary will boost ratings.

Ratings increase this week weren't enough, compared to the level of promotion and money spent, to save this show I'm afraid.

Ratings still increased, nonetheless. It also did quite well in demographics, and that is one of the biggest things the WB looks at. They are waiting for the show to find its audience, which is why they haven't made a decision, yet. I am still confident that the show will survive. Nobody is going to convince me, otherwise.

Some good news: In today's column, Marc Berman has moved "Birds of Prey" from "on the fence" to "Probable Full-Season Pick Up". The column is at www.mediaweek.com under the heading Programming Insider.
