BoP Season 1 dvd boxset

I know it's kinda early but do you think if the show goes a full season that WB will make a dvd box set of it with special features?

Not until it hits syndication, which is generally 5 years.

How does that explain 24 then because they got DVD's out after there first season. They might of been a big show but there is still hope for Birds of Prey.

That is a very good point - and not one for which I have an answer. Usually networks won't allow dvds to be made of their shows until they are sold for syndication in order to protect the syndication market. Syndicators aren't going to pay huge prices for reruns if people can buy the episodes on dvd. The only usual exception are HBO shows, which they aren't looking to sell in syndication. 24 appears to be an exception to the rule. Perhaps it had to do with its unique format.

BoP is by the WB.

Fox and every one other than the WB knows what thier fans want..

Actually, FOX does Buffy too and they took close to five years for a DVD release. So, it's anyone's guess. But I wouldn't count on a DVD release anytime soon.

I would love BoP on DVD (my tapes suck). It will be a while. Here's my question why does the UK get a lot of DVD's before the US?
I mean you can already get all three seasons of Angel, lots of Buffy eps and tons of other shows?

First.. Why would FOX do Buffy? The WB owns the first 5 or 6 seasons...

Second.. It does seem that everyone other than the US gets DVDs sooner...

Also, I just saw that the WB is releaseing the first season of Felicity... OH BOY!

The WB aired Buffy for the first five season. FOX produces and distributes the show. The DVDs come through from FOX's home video division. The WB no longer has any rights to Buffy whatsoever. The FX Network, local FOX affiliates and UPN have the rights to air the show.

And American shows take longer for DVD because of syndication and money issues :)

A Birds of Prey season 1 dvd boxset sounds great.

I'm still waiting for them to even release a Smallville season 1 boxset.

Birds of Prey on DVD -not for a long while, maybe they'll do a Smallville, release the pilot on DVD...

If you really want Tv shows on DVD, why not purchase a multi-region dvd player, and get British (region 2) dvds ?

If you have the time, the internet connection, a CD-Writer...you can get svcd of Birds of Prey for FREE...The quality of these are near if not equal DVD quality 'coz its direct-satellite-rip.

Although you might not get bonus stuffs like those in a DVD boxset...but hey if you can't wait...like i said b4 it's free!

SVCD is = Super Video CD. Huge MPEG files like 700 mb+ with great picture quality, you can put 750 megs in to a 700 mb CD. Usually you can find them with programs like Direct Connect and then there is messaboards were people post their IP Adresses so people can download from them.

I got mine from 2 sources...irc and newsgroups. Although you can also get them from edonkey but it has less sources. You can't find them in Kazaa or Morpheus...

For Newsgroups it is released by a series of rar files (about 54 rars). If you have a newsreader...subscribe to alt.binaries.multimedia and check by every wed night onwards and they will release them..Make sure that your newsserver is stable 'coz sometimes the post becomes incomplete.

If you want the complete file...goto Dalnet and register your nickname and goto #birdsofprey-episodes. I think so people release the svcd versions there...
