From Marc Berman at Mediaweek.com:

In what could be the deciding factor on a full season renewal, the WB's Birds of Prey remained consistent, albeit non-spectacular, with a fifth place 4.1/ 6 at 9 p.m. - two percent above its tired Dawson's Creek lead-in (#6: 4.0/ 6) and virtually equal to last week. Before the axe potentially swings (if all those low rated new WB comedies can get a back-end order so should Birds of Prey), the new drama is still 28 percent above Felicity on the year ago night (3.2/ 5 on Nov. 7, 2001). Five-week metered market track for Birds of Prey: 6.4/ 9 - 4.7/ 7 - 4.8/ 7 - 4.0/ 6 - 4.1/ 6.

They finally stopped the bleeding, which is definitely a good thing. The big question is: if the ratings have levelled off at 4.1/6, is this good enough for the WB especially considering the weak lead-in from Dawson's Creek?

Isn't DC going off this season? Or am I losing my mind? If it leaves, what will that mean for BoP?

This is Dawson's Creek's last season. If they keep BoP, that will mean that the show could end up being moved to another night.

In my email to WB, I recommended them switching Charmed and BoP.. instead maybe they could move Charmed to Wednesday and have BoP on at 8 instead of 9.. or something? Ya know, put a fairly popular show on that night. The WB was doing good on shows for awhile then they got cancel-happy. I really think by them letting Buffy go, it caused them more issues than they planned on. People are more loyal to shows rather than stations.

wednsday night is very competitive. 4.1/6 for BOP is very good. you got to remember that NBC and CBS has their best shows on wedndays and thursday. believe me when i'll tell you; if Smallville were on wednsday would have the same rating as Birds of prey.

yea...i think BoP is just having a case of really crappy luck....hopefully they will notice that its not just BoP getting so-so ratings..and that it is a show worth keeping...

They should move it to Sunday if they move it anywhere, since I don't know many shows that on Sundays myself. And they have the what? 4 show sunday?

One thing I found very interesting was that Target had a commercial in during the show and usually Target is very particular about what show they do there advertising on.

Sunday would be a really bad idea. The only reason Charmed survives there is because it has a strong following now. It's been established for five years.

Moving Charmed back to Wednesdays to lead out from BoP would be a great idea though. Charmed started on Wednesday nights in Season one, and both shows are very female dominated.

Now the ratings weren't that bad... they weren't spectacular, but they were okay. Hopefully WB takes into account how powerful Wednesday night is on other stations.

Sundays would be bad choice. You have ALIAS, Sopranos, Malcolm In The Middle, Simpsons, WWOD, The Practice. Very busy night for popular shows.
