Not entirely true. The Huntress was introuced in the 1970's as part of DC's Earth 2 Universe. This was a Universe featuring the same characters from the DC Universe, but slightly different. It had been around for some time (since the 1950's I think), and had been created to explain the differences between the 1930's and more modern incarnations of certain characters such as Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.
In the Earth 2 Universe, Batman and Catwoman didn't deny their love and got married. However, Catwoman is murdered by Joker, and as a result Batman retires (but doesn't leave Gotham). However, their Daughter assumes the mantle of Huntress, and works beside Robin.
In the 1980's. DC published a mini-series, Crisis On Infitite Universe, in which they unified Earth 2 with the regular DC universe.
There is a scene towards the end of the series when Huntress, now in the regular DC Universe, cannot find her mothers grave, and then discovers that while they are still in love, Batman and Catwoman never married or had her as a daughter.
The producers of BoP have taken different aspects of the DC Universe mythology as they have seen fit.

There is a Huntress web site that goes over this. I had a brief discussion of this in one of my emails. If you go to Yahoo.com and type in Huntress, you will discover her website with both origins in it.

Yeah...And Marvel's "Rachel Summers is Jean Grey and Scott Summers' daughter from an alternate timeline's future but got thrown into 616 as Phoenix II and then decided to age 100 years by time traveling 4000 years into the future to become Mother Askani and raise her half brother who's half machine and then dies only to return to the present as a teenager" isn't confusing...LOL ;)

Lol... good point
I think all comics have an inherent sense of confusion. There's also the Franklin Richards deal, Reed's death... all in Fantastic Four, so much in X-Men that can be confusing, a lot in Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman...
The entire comic industry can be confusing

I am so-o-o into the Huntress...maybe I don't care about the discrepancies. There are other things to worry about and one of them is that darn Clocktower. How is it that Oracle seems to run the Birds of Prey Roost from there like its all hers? Is this more of the Wayne family fortune standing smack dab in the Gotham skyline? Help me figure out who actually owns the building the Clocktower stands on and if there is any significance to the TIME displayed scene to scene....? (I'm facinated with the architectural details of Gotham...call it a guy thing.) The Huntress appears to be fairly young in her Gotham tenure...how does she always know how to get around anywhere in the city? And does she ever get lost and asks directions? Or is she so savant that a map has been encoded genetically in her DNA profile?
Does the Earth2 Universe version address any of this?
(Full of queries - huh?)

Wayne Enterprises owns the clocktower and guess who owns Wayne Enterprises?
I am sure that either Barbara Gordon or Selena Kyle gave Helena some pointers.

I think Bruce Wayne/Batman bought it for her since he felt guilty that she got shot. He also trained her when she became Oracle. He was indisguise of course.

There are so many things wrong with that statement. Let me disect it one by one.
I think Bruce Wayne/Batman bought it for her since he felt guilty that she got shot.
Guilty that she got shot? "Oh, hey, sorry you got shot. Here's a clock." Yeah. Bruce wants Gotham to be safe, even though he's no longer there. The clock tower is just Oracle's equivalent of the Batcave, under Wayne Enterprises funding because, let's face it, being a teacher isn't the highest paying job there is.
He also trained her when she became Oracle.
Trained her how? Barbara was already a master hacker, far above Bruce's level, even before she was shot.
He was indisguise of course.
Why would he need to be in disguise? Barbara knows who he is.
