When meditating, you take a word that really means something and chant it over and over. Everyone has at least one favorite word that has a special meaning. What I want to know is what words mean something to you, and why? One of my favorites is meta-moira, which means beyond fate. I like this word because I'm a big spiritual person. I believe in fate and destiny, and am always hungry for knowledge of what awaits after destiny.

Fun fact- did you know that weird also means fate?!

I've never really given much thought to any specific words that I've ever said. I do have a few that I say alot but, they wouldn't qualify here. To be honest the oath from the Green Lantern comics seem to be the ones I'll say to myself in order to calm down or just get through something. I'd kind of feel silly posting them knowing that you've posted something more universal, so I wont right now. I might if it's requested though.

I never really thought of that. Hmm...I can't think of any special words right now, maybe I'll post some later. Good insight, though!

Get Ready For some Uber-Dorkishness (I know that's not a word, and if it was i would have misspelled it) :

When i get really angry i just recite the SORTING HAT'S SONG from 'Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire'. But if not that, then i sing BREATH by Faith Hill in my head because my GirlFriend sang it to me once when i couldn't sleep.

Okay, that's my regrettable revelation for today.

I was thinking about this yesterday......
Have you ever heard something in a song or a movie, or mayber read something in a book that just stuck with you? Just something out of the blue that really wasn't meant to be helpful or enlightening but, it still grabs you and makes you say to yourself, "That's it!"
I think anything like that could be concidered meaningful words. Even if no-one else thinks so, as long as it means something to you it's meaningful.

Ok when I am angry I can't post what words I use here or else I will be banned for foul language. But when things are bad and I need to explode because I am so pissed, I repeat the word Calm over and over again and picture myself walking on the beach or someplace that soothes me.

There are no words or whatever that calms me down and put me a good mode but there is one song called 'Unwell' by Matchbox 20 and I'm able to get things through..I only listen to it...if I'm ticked off...I can be really mad...like really easily....and annoyed as well.

Another word is LOVE. I don't take or treat this word lightly, when I say it I mean it. And I have been saying it since 6/18/03!

Well after i bang my head a couple of times and mumble a curse each time, i sit up, take a deep breathe and say "Think Happy Thoughts" and hum a song. Like today i hummed "Reach Out (I'll Be There)" by the Four Tops.

i know this isn't me, but my best friend is big on the musci thing, so when he's pissed off her just plaes his violin (SP?), and he actually makes it sound pretty rockin'. he likes to play the theme from ANGEL, and really-wild-4-square-dancin'-soungs. he's a trip, but it psises off him mom when he plays at 11pm and all the neighbores call to complain.
