Canary and Catwoman?

I was watching "Sins of the Mother", and listening to Barbara Gordon talk about the problems Black Canary had with Catwoman. Now I was wondering what if the problems they had were based on the fact that they were both girlfriends of Batman?
I know it probably is just wild speculation, but do we have any idea who Dinah's Father is? Could Batman have more then one daughter? I mean Oracle didn't even no Black Canary was pregnant so maybe there was a reason that Canary kept her pregnancy from Batman associates like Batman had another Daughter with someone other then Catwoman? I know I probably have an over active imagination, but does anyone else think it is possible?

I just hate the idea of Dinah being Helena's half sister--please not that!-- but I wouldn't be surprised if Canary might have been jealous of Catwoman considering her comments. Maybe she just wanted to be his girlfriend or Selina stole him away.

yeah, i don't like the idea of helena and dinah being related. that's too weird. plus, they don't look a thing alike. and it just doesn't sound like a good idea.

No chance for Batman being Black Canary's lover, its always been Oliver Queen the Green Arrow who BC loved from the start. People have been writing about a Black Canary and Batman hookup fanfiction but she's really more widely known to be the Green Arrow's true love.

If Dinah was Batman's daughter, then why use Helena to keep Batman closely in the story when they could just use Dinah?

Dinah is no one's daughter. She is fictional; they have not yet given her a father.

Over at the WB, Dinah's father is listed as "Top Secret." Maybe the writers had some big episode planned to reveal who Dinah's father was.

It's quite a cool topic for speculation though. Why *did* the Black Canary have so many problems with Catwoman?

Here are some of my ideas:

1. Catwoman was a thief. On the opposite side of the law.

2. Perhaps BC considered her a seductress, seducing Gotham's greatest champion, the one who stood up for the law in a way that the police were unable to.

3. Maybe Carolyn Lance *did* have a thing for Bruce Wayne, but his heart belonged only to Selina.

As I said, it's a great topic for discussion. There are even a few fanfics that revolve around that topic.

Not remotly possible. Because Helena's older, and Batman loved Catwomen, why would he go off a few years later and get some other woman pregnant?

upon further thought i have changed my mind about this
i was really just trying to come up with ideas for the virtual season and i just posted the first thng that came to my mind
i dont think these 2 women who obviously loved their daughters would keep them apart if they were sisters

I don't like the idea of helana and dinah being half sisters. It just dosent seem right. About the issue of batman being dinah's father (uh) NO WAY! Oh and about canary and catwoman not likeing each other, well personally I'm a catwoman fan, and I like dinah but I was a little hurt when I found that dinah's mother didn't like catwoman.Back to the issue of batman being dinah's father, I'M NOT JUST SAYING THIS BECAUSE I'M A CATWOMAN FAN but I really think catwoman and batman really loved each other, so I don't think that batman would hurt catwoman by cheating on her with te black canary.JUST MY OPINION!

Actually, from what we have seen so far, the show has been know to stray from the comics. This could mean that Dinah's father could be anyone. Hell, she could even be related to Reese for that matter. Remember that Carolyn (obvious change from the comic, although I think it was a smart move. Two Dinah's got to be confusing in the comics), spent a good deal of her time working undercover on the inside. Her style was to get close to the perp, then bring him down. My thought is that Dinah's father was supposed to be revealed in a later episode that will probably never materialize ifthe WB gets its way. I think it's quite possible that Carolyn may have had a crush on Batman at one time and disagreed with his falling for Catwoman. Perhaps they were forced to work together and Canary just didn't like Catwoman's style. Or maybe Catwoman turned against her. Would love to know the answer to that trivia question the WB had up a while back about Black Canary. I think the possible answers were something like: Catwoman and Black Canary were sisters, Canary was Batman's protoge, and something else that I can't quite remember. Maybe that would shed some light on the bird/cat thing. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was explained in the actual show Sins of the Mother, and just left on the cutting room floor - they do quite a bit of that with this show. Sometimes the most important and informative scenes get deleted this way.

actually, in the comics he was the second black canary's love, even though i think they will change it around for the show so that he was the first B.C.'s(carolyn) love and dinah's father.
and it's bad enough that batman knocked up one girl, but it would be stupid to have him have two children from different mothers.(not that i'm looking down on this, it's just something that batman wouldn't do.)

Carolyn is supposed to be the second Black Canary. The first Black Canary (Dinah Drake-Lance) was a non-metahuman from the forties, who gave birth to the second Black Canary (Dinah Jr. in the comics; Carolyn on the show), who was the one that romanced Oliver Queen.

are you sure? that episode really made it seem like carolyn was the first and only black canary.

Only Alfred was alive when the first Black Canary was around. It's not uncommon to not remember something that happened before you were born.
