Birds of Prey had 1th episode last week, here Brazil.
I didn't like Harleen's playing.
She wasn't funny like cartoon's, not so pretty, not so young than.
It's that happened just 1th episode or not?
Did you like her?

In Birds of prey Harleen is at most the same age as Babs...she was funny in the cartoon's 'coz basically it's "cartoons". She's sorta a wack job in the comics.
The shows Harley Quinn has many differences from her cartoon counterpart...She's more mature (if you can call it that), more ruthless..evil...well you know what I mean...every typical thing you could imagine in a 'criminal psycho' shrink.
And yeah I like the character portrayal here.

Is she ever gonna wear the costume ? Like Ever ?
Or are the producers, planning to make her wear street clothes, while fighting BOP, with NO MASK on
And Helena won't recognize her right ? How LAME WILL THAT BE !
And Dr Harleen won't recognize Helena also right ?
They should really rethink the no-mask idea...
Unless they plan her to be like releaser of evil meta-humans and crazies. And then she sits around on her butt, end of episode. Next episode, same thing again... what a surprise !
Harley Quinn is ready to kick some BOP butt, but will it ever happen ?

Thanks to post guys, but I prefer that she was more funny like cartoons.
That would be more interesting.

But notice, Harley almost always wears red, black and white in every ep. I think a couple of times she had on something else, but usually it's the Harley from the comic's colors. I guess they're trying to steer away from actual costumes. That was the old era of superheroes. This is a new age.

Come the season finale, when the Birds of Prey finally realize Harley's behind all the crimes, her secret identity will be revealed. She'll put on the costume and make a run for it, with a giant hammer and a rubber chicken and a POW gun. It will be like the good old days, just you wait and see.

Problem is, BOP might/might not get a full season, we still don't know officially yet.
And before then, I would love to see Harley, not Dr Harleen Quinzel, couldn't they just cut some scenes into a episode, where we see Harley full costume (something similar to the one she wears in the cartoon, please), but not allowing BOP to see her face ? In that episode, we can have a similar villian, but the fact is, Harley is the one actually doing it, not that other villian. Now wouldn't that make a great BOP episode:D

I blame Mia Sara. She's not crazy enough to play Harley. They should have gone with Hudson Leick, who played Callisto in Xena.

I'm Hudson Leick fan as well but I think Mia Sara is doing a fine job as Harleen. I mean, she's twisted enough to be a psycho yet normal enough to be perceived as a psychiatrist. I loved that scene with Reese and Harleen. I did NOT see that coming.

I don't know why anyone would complain about her being more mature. Women in their 30s haven't hit the wall yet. I thinik Mia Sara is great as Harley.:D

I agree that Mia Sara is a great Harley, but I also think Hudson could have been a better one, by far. No disrespect towards Mia, but when it comes to playing a twisted villainess, nobody can f--- with Hudson, and if u saw her as Callisto, then you have no reason not to agree.

Agree userlordj. Hudson is/was the baddest bad girl I've ever seen. That smile is just 100% pure evil.

Mia's just fine, but I whole heartedly agree that she just doesn't have the nuts. (Bad pun. . . )
She's not wound itght enough to be the same character. Even all through out the comics, shows, and other clown saga, she's been crazy. You don't just go TEMPORARILLY insane...

Before she met the Joker, she wasn't insane. She was just a slut who slept with her college professors so she was able to intern at Arkham Asylum. Then the Joker turned her crazy.

Is the sleeping around thing a development in the comics? I haven't heard that before. It wasn't a part of the cartoon Harley history.
She was already crazy before she met the Joker. No sane person would fall in love with him. It's just that when not in the Joker's presence she isn't triggered to the same levels of insanity or silliness. This is shown in many of her sans Joker adventures.
Mia Sara's Harley is insane, she makes comments about buying shoes and bombs in the same sentence. That's very Harley.
However, it wouldn't work to play Harley in live action the way she is in the comics. That would just take us back the to 60's Batman and the latter non-Burton Batman movies.
Mia's Harley is much more in line with the brand of insanity we were introduced to through Jack Nicholson in the first movie.
Perhaps Hudson makes a good cartoon kind of Harley. But Xena *was* campy.

Frosty, you're stupid.
BOP taking place after she's met Mistah J.
Meaning she shoudl be Nuckin Futs.
Mia's harley isnt insane at all! So she mutters harley-esque lines here and there.
WHERE'S THE PASSION? WHERE's THE MADNESS? WHERE'S MY PSYCHOPATHIC CLOWN?!!
Psychopaths and Sociopaths aren't the same.
Mia's Harley's just an uptight old bitch.
Harley Is Harley.
You can re-write a well established Character.
And Jack Nicholson...*swoon*
Totally mad. And Fun. And Loud. And Funny. And Hyped. And Bold.
Not Mia.
Sad now.

Ok, I dunno if it has been discussed here or not...hell, I dunno if anyone is still around here since the show was sh!tcanned (damn shame too), but since this DOES take place AFTER Harley met the Joker, went loopy, dressed up and looted Gotham, why:
1. ...is she STILL allowed to practice phych? Bats and everyone at Arkham knew Harleen=Harley and having that on her record the medical powers that be STILL allowed her to continue her practice? WTF?
2. ...does nobody make the connection that Harleen is Harley? Helena MAY not know, but I think it is resonable to assume that Babs prolly knows who Helena's doc is and she damn sure should know who Harleen Quinzel is.
I'm not ripping on the show at all, I loved it to death and am sad as anyone is to see it go, but this one small point seems like too far of a stretch to me and always has, unless, of course, I am missing some important comic tidbit here that makes it possible...if I am, someone clue me in, please!

Yea, I'm willing to buy that she may have convinced the Arkham docs she was no longer out of her skull, but even still, who would let even a former criminal practice medicine?

She has "amazing insight into the criminal mind".
