okay thanks, if you want to know what problems I'm having is equation problems like for an example 2x+4-5x=4x+5 like those kind of problems, cuz the addition and subtraction mixes me up, like I'm not sure if I'm doing right or wrong

I did very well in algebra even though I hate math, if you have a question, I'll try to answer it, if I can remember that far back!

I found one called www.algebrahelp.com. You simply enter your equation and they take you through each step on how to solve it.
For the problems your looking at ,though, just remember what you do to one side you must do to the other. (like if you subtract 3 from one side you have to subtract 3 from the other side). Try to get all the x variables on one side and the numbers on the other.
Though in college now, I was on a math team in high school(where we did nothing but answer math problems for fun-crazy I know:rolleyes: ) and I've had every class from simple algebra to calculus, so if you need any help just PM me. I tutor my friends all the time so I can explain things pretty well. Good Luck!

This is the format that I was taught:
2x+4-5x=4x+5
-3x+4=4x+5 -I added the 2x and the -5x and got -3x.
+3x +3x -I get the -3x by bring it across as a positive.
---------------
4=7x+5 -The -3x and the +3x cancel each other out. 3x+4x=7x.
-5 -5 -Now bring the 5 over.
---------
-1=7x -You know the drill now. + and - 5's wipe out.
-------
7 7 -Now to get rid of the 7, you divide 7x by 7.
-1
-- = x Your answer is -1
7 --
7
Get it? If you need help, PM me.
BTW- We had Math Quaterlies- Got highest grade in my class! ^^

I have another math question, by the way I don't have my math book...I forgot what this type of problem it is called, it goes like this A=P(1+% (I forgot this part is) and divide from the percent) then N squared, something like that, I forgot how to get % divide by either monthly, daily, yearly ect. Does anyone know what I'm talking about...

Whoa....that's really confusing, but it sounds familiar. Sounds like you're compounding interest or something. (Ex. I put so much money in the bank and iterest is added at a certain percent based on whether it is calculated monthly or yearly). Does the problem read like this:
A= P (1 + r/n) nt (nt being to the nt power, r being %, n being year, month, or day)
Is that what you're talking about? I wouldn't know for sure unless I saw the actual problem, but from your description that's what it sounds like.
