Should the producers and writers allow Babs to walk freely from her chair, this early in the season?

I for think, Babs could handle many a villian on her own in that chair of her without the added tech, that the producers are rumored to be using against Lady Shiva.

No i don;t think the producers should have her walking freely. But it would be ok maybe for an ep. or during a flashback or something. Having her walk could be good or bad. It could bring back memories of her past and that could be used to tie in how she hasn't fully dealt with her disability. But one could make the argument that she already accomplished that during the pilot ep. But hey who knows...:)

I'm just speculating here...but I think with regards to Babs making a way for her to walk again would eventually fail her in order for her to realize that a) she can no longer long for that (her to walk again) and b) for her to realize that she doens't have to walk to be of purpose...

I don't mind if she gets to walk anytime this season. What I wanna see more is her kicking the crap out of the bad guys with just a stick while in her wheelchair.:p

I agree, Babs has taught and fought in that wheelchair in the comics. Don't just let her sit in the clocktower, she can still fight. Maybe not the way she used to but the only problems I see her fighting in the chair with is if she's caught in a back alley with no place to escape. Then again this is the original Batgirl, I'm talking about not some streetwalker looking for a fight. Babs is superintelligent she would find away.

If anybody wants to take a peek at Babs walking for two/three issues check out the current issues of BIRDS (47,48, and 49). It's the perfect point to jump on and to not get bogged down by continuity.

No, I don't believe Barbara should be allowed to walk again ... with the possible exception of a failed attempt to confirm for herself that Oracle is the appropriate role for her to play. I believe that while she misses Batgirl she's moved on and is confident in her abilities as Oracle.
