Now that Dinah has started fighting with Huntress, what name will she pick for herself? Obviously, Black Canary, in honor of her mother is an option but I'm hoping for something better: Batgirl
Barbara should pass the cowl to Dinah. It would be great! I also believe that Dinah, being more facinated and into the whole super hero mythos than Helena, would wear a mask when she fought.
Why not a Bat mask?:D
Thoughts?

Your probibly right, but what would you personally rather see?
I think Dinah would look great donning the uniform.

Yeah! Dinah wearing the Batsuit would be tight! She'd be great! It also might raise some tension between she and Helena.
I actually think that she'll choose some other wierd codename, but will eventually be Black Canary II or somethin' like that once she learns more about her mother.
But really...Black Canary just doesn't flow like Batgirl, Oracle or Huntress...

It's an interesting idea, but I think Dinah will take on being the Black Canary, in honor of the mother who died for her.
But, I think she'll wear a mask. Like you said, Dinah is really into the mythos of costumed vigilantes, a little more than Helena is, so I can see her wearing a mask.
I guess we'll see. ;)

Neither of the other two Black Canarys wore a mask. (Well, that's not true. But for the most part, they didn't. Black Canary I [from the forties] wore a mask when she was a criminal. She drifted to the right side of the law in her second appearance, and no longer wore a mask.) Originally, both of them wore blonde wigs as a disguise for their black hair. Black Canary II (the current one in the comics) got tired of the wig and dyed her hair blonde, so now, she has nothing hiding her appearance.

Cause Terry is challenging his sarcasm and wits.
That is if you could call Terry's attempt even anywhere near sarcasm or witty.

Dinah should wear a mask. I mean she's in high school she would be risking a lot if somesome from her school saw her fighting crime. I mean lets face it she's no Huntress. Helena could easily climb walls and buildings that's something Dinah can't do.
Speaking of Dinah I was just wondering, here we have a metahuman who is under eighteen, runs away from home to hook up with two women she saw in a dream, finds her real mother and loses her, and through all this her foster parents, the Redmonds, don't come looking for her. Doesn't that strike you of being a little odd?
I would like toan episode whre the Redmonds come to town to take Dinah home. After all they could do that because Dinah is still their responsablity. Dinah is under eighten, the Redmonds has all of Dinah's documents, Barbara doesn't have any legal gaurdian custody over Dinah, and whether Dinah likes them or not she's stuck with them. I thought this would make a great episode, assuming it was done right.
As for Dinah being Batgirl....Hell No!!!! There is only one Batgirl in my book and Barbara is it. Besides Batman wasn't Dinah's hero he was Barbaras'. She would be better as the Black Canary. Just like Helena became the Huntress and not Catwoman. Of course her situation was a little different.

What about Bette Kane, Helena Bertinelli, and Cassandra Cain? Have you chosen to ignore those?

I think she should take on a new name but have something like Black Canary's.

I meant Barbara Gordon is the only Batgirl. Not Dina Meyer, although she does play the part wonderfully.

I think Dina makes a wonderful Barbara.
IMO, she's given her a quiet emotionaly reserve which I find most appealing. :)

Dinah should stay away from anything Bat-related, She could become the new Black Canary.

I think that Oracle will gain the use of her legs again through computer technology and don the Batgirl suit again. I agree with Shemar Moore. She has a cute butt, why waste it by sitting on it if she doesn't have to. I don't necessarily think Black Canary is dead, so until I see DNA evidence or a burnt corpse, I think she is alive. Besides, I like looking at Rachel just the way her cute self is now!

In "Slick", Barbara ran a background check on Dinah; she said that the Redmonds didn't even bother filing a missing person's report on Dinah.
Lotta love in THAT house ...

Yeah but the gizmo brings her much pain, and it also makes her condition worse. She hasn't yet perfected it so she really can't walk. In the lady shiva episode she looked like she was in alot of pain and she could only take a few footsteps.
PreyOn

Yes that is still walking but I think everyone here knew exactly what I meant when I said walking. I wouldn't want anyone trying to fight crime for a living (on a consistent basis) until she perfected the gizmo she uses. I know of several babies taking their first steps but I wouldn't say they have mastered their walking skills.
I did see the Lady Shiva episode. Unfortunately because of Pacer basketball and my local affiliate I have missed at least 3 episodes.

"barbara already is able to walk with one of her gizmo's,you would know that if you watch the lady shiva episode"
that's exactly what PreyOn was talking about, you ass.
and no way is dinah going to be batgirl, she will become the black canary. they should bring in cassandra cain and have barbara pass on the mantle ot her.
and bette kane doesn't really count considering it was pre-crisis and her existence has been wiped from continuity.

Not really. They merely retconned her name to Flamebird. She was still the partner of Batwoman, which would indeed make her a Bat girl.
I think they should come up with a new name for Dinah cause her mom's name had something to do with her power the canary cry so maybe some name that has to do with her power. She's got some really cool powerful powers. I don't know maybe she won't even have a name like Helena or Barbara maybe she'll just be Dinah. In the next episode Gladiatrix she gets a cool new outfit.

They sort of theorized in Sins of the Mother that Dinah would eventually have the Canary Cry. And besides, what if she doesn't? The original Black Canary didn't have any powers.

Bette Kane wasn't Batgirl. She was Bat-Girl. There is a difference. Helana Bertinelli sucked as Batgirl and Cassandra Cain was a very poor imitation of Batgirl. The only reason she became Batgirl is as a thank you from Barbara for saying her adoptive dad from Cain's bullet. It wasn't because she was worthy of the title of Batgirl.

So.....I'm taking that as a "Yes. I'm ignoring them."

I got the new Batgirl comic, and it is Stephanie Brown who is assuming the mantle of Batgirl. But Barbara Gordon is also present, and will be around. Stephanie Brown, if you recall, was once Spoiler, as well as Robin.
