LOL Looks like something *I'd* wear!
The new coat is better than the previous coat "thing" which just looked weird. She looks much better now, the whole outfit seems to fit in properly, nice and dark :)

Yeah, the new one looks much better. The old one was so trampy. Bleh.

Helena doesn't wear a mask like Batman or Catwoman or Bat girl...interesting...
With a face like hers...a mask would be wrong.
Beautiful!!!

I think that this series is really cut off all of a sudden from Batman's OG story..but I like the show so far...It's kinda weird though how Bat girl just got shot like that on the first episode. All in all I think that it's pretty kool, I was wondering also why dosen't Huntress have a mask on like Batman did. I also wanted to mention that Ashly Scott bares a close resemblence to Batman and Cat woman mixed together....it's fun to see that..maybe it's her eyebrows. I think that this is going to be fun to watch...

The new outfit is stunning, if you look carefully, you can see how the corset shines, purple kind of colour, but still dark !
And the jacket looks great! Better than that see-through rag.

One thing that I tended to notice in the pilot was that she wore her hair up while working in the Dark Horse bar. (nice "in" joke there.) She then let it down when she prowled the streets. Also, I do think that the new costume is much more practical and better-looking then the original outfit. As for the lack of mask....I can see wear it would be difficult and with Ashley's looks, the producers are smart to not want to hide them. (On the other hand, I have to admire the producers fidelity when presenting the Batgirl flashbacks with her classic costume.) :)

Ah yes!
Gough & Millar; or may be it's T-R-P; have a history of 'in jokes'. But I must admire their fidelity of story. Their version is recognisable as 'original' but their twist is ...Je nai c'est pas.

I think the lack of mask shows, in a way, that she doesn't care who sees her. Also, it was a flashback of Batgirl getting shot;it didn't actually happen then.

I can't remember where, but one of the producers was saying that Huntress did not wear a mask to sort of signify a new era in Gotham.
The newer costume is a lot better, much more pragmatic.

Simple truth is Ashley's face is so great covering it up would be a shame but for pratical reasons I think some of the old superman arguments have to be brought into play. EG metta humans can excert a fogging effect so that normal humans don't recognise them. Other wise her cop buddy would sit down with a sketch artest and have a composit and from that find out who she is prity quick.
As to the costume. As a guy I must say I apreaciat both and perhaps the first was a little more riviting of my... instintive funtions... but the second one is much more pratical. I read an artical that said Ashley aparently kept popping out of the first one at inopertune times. That translates to time and money spent on retakes and possably some embaresment to Ashley so I'm all for the new outfit.

The new costume is more fitting in with the Batman/Catwoman theme. Boy I wish I could have an outfit like that!!!

I agree her costume is good, but people must be oblivious to not recognize Helena, just because she changes her clothes. She could just have one of those masks that fits around the eyes(like the Robins, or Nightwing, or many other comic book characters), this would still show Ashley's face pretty much, but would hide it a little so nobody in "New Gotham" would really be able to tell, but then again, they already can't tell if she changes her clothes.
Ehhh... I see where you guys are coming from, but I think you're missing one of the greatest conveniences of not wearing a mask - blending in. If Helena were trudging around the city in some cape and cowl with a big shiny bat on her chest, she would stick out like a sore thumb. The beauty of just wearing slim sexy clothing and no mask is that if she's walking down an alleyway she doesn't seem out of place. Ketterly in the pilot remarked on her outfit and she claimed to be going dancing later. If you see the small black jacket she's worn in Slick and for every ep beyond that, she looks like she could just be walking along the street and nobody would question her.
So yeah, maybe Reese could recognize her, and get a sketch done, and find out who she is - but for sheer ability to get around New Gotham, a girl in a black leather get-up can get more places than someone in a funky costume with armbands and a mask.
The Huntress 'costume' evolution :
1) A PVC top with her chest exposed, wristbands, black pants, and a see-through frilly coat.

http://www.birdsofpreyonline.com/gallery/ensemble/BP01_ENCT03.jpg (with coat)
2) A purple-shimmery top that tied/clasped in the front, black pants, wristbands, and a heavy black leather jacket with big sleeves.

3) A simple waist-length black jacket or long black trenchcoat, black top, and black pants.

As you can see, they've kept her necklace throughout all the incarnations (it's how she speaks back to Barbara), but they ditched the wristbands in the end and the funny corsets and now she wears more streamlined regular dark clothing.

Yeah, those costume changes makes Huntress a more unique type of hero. Making her wear a mask just ruins the whole new concept of the new Gotham super hero type.

I like her recent outfit better..and if I were her, I would much rather prefer being a BIT more comfy and fit in around the street..even though she's not walking that much. The jumping over all around..on the skyscrapers is always fun..I think I know why she lives in a BIG place and not the country..oh yeah, jumping over trees, like that would be fun..

i like the last outfit that oracle posted the most...sometimes just good old plain black leather can do the trick....

True true, her recent outfits are way more practical. She looks good in anything anyways. It'd be interesting seeing her kickass in a hoodie! :D

They say the clothes you wear make 90% of you. I guess confidence also is a factor on why she doesn't really have a costume. If she wear the clothes she likes she feels more confident which is essential in kicking a$$. Same as bruce takes on a different persona when in his Batsuit...

While the first outfit was a little easier on the eyes her recent outfit does seem more practical for all the flipping, jumping, and fighting she does.
As long as there is some black leather involved with her outfit I'll be happy with it! :D

I would also agree that the later costume would be much more practical though I think the previous one is much more unique. I also think the wristbands are way cool. Too bad she ditched them.

Yeah, but what if a wristband got caught in a pipe or on a screw or something? *That* would be embarrassing. :D
I like the last outfit the best--less is more and all that.

I like the classic outfit I don't have a pic but it was the promo shots with her black har, leather duster, boots and then i like the "clubbin" outfit. I'm all for praticle but I like Huntress to have a uniquness about her. Also the picture where shes just wearing a regular leather jacket is not her Huntress' look I think she just didn't have time to change. Cause thats like theonly time I've seen her in a short jacket...I mean face it she can't pull a Clark Kent to Superman everytime someone screams help.

he can't pull a Clark Kent to Superman everytime someone screams help.
Good point.
I like the leather duster, though. Even if it runs a risk of getting "hurted" by bad metas.
"Augh! Look at this! Do you have any idea how hard it is to find clothes that look sexy?"
