I have 4 ideas. In 4 day's whatever is the winner of idea's everybody on this forum does. I mean by number 3 that everybody say's "the next show" everybody get's everybody to watch that show then the WB will think again.

Sorry - I'm not sure what you mean in option 3, sentence doesn't make sense.
Wait for LisaM to hear back from T/R productions BEFORE contacting other networks - *PLEASE*
I like the idea of your poll but the single most important thing everyone should be doing is spreading the word about the show. Do that first. If you have additional time, then write the WB. Option 4 is really the only way to increase ratings, which is what we need to focus on.
Spread the word in whatever way you can:
• tell everyone you know at work, school, etc, to watch on Wed. and tell them to spread the word
• email family, friends, pals, tell them to watch
• write to newsgroups, mailing lists, forums, etc. try to reach a mass of people in one shot
• print out flyers to advertise
• anywhere you can post a flyer, do it
And any other way you can think of to let people to watch the show. That is the only way to increase ratings.

What would have saved the show is more people watching.

If your going to based it by just asking more people to watch won't really help if ratings are concerned 'coz if 100 people watch BOP with no neilsen box and 1 person watch the Bachelor with one then only his viewership counts. I really think spreading the word to people that it's a great show with a lot of potential, no matter how impossible others may think it would be good for the show and is one of the best remedies for now.

The more people watch, the more likely you'll get those with Nielsen boxes.

Fine! Everybody, next Wed, we all rally the troops on all the people we know and to watch it next wed. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GET EVERYBODY TO WATCH!!!!

That's good, but that won't help the show. WB execs that wanted the show dead from the start have now gotten their way. No matter what the ratings are for this ep, the show will remain dead. Its cancellation was not just due to bad ratings, although that was the major part, but it was also due to an internal struggle within WB, and BoP was one of that struggles casualties... it won't be back in any shape or form.
Define struggle please? Or rather, details, if you would be so kind.

Number 3 won't work, unless the person's house you're watching it in has a Nielson box.

If evereyone tuned in and watched the show at this point it wouldnt matter because as previously posted, not everyone has a Neilson Box, even if we all could get one by the time it happened the show would be long gone,, unfortunately the only chance we have is mediums such as this, letters, emails and any other correspondence to The WB. Can anyone start an on-Line petition or get a name , number or email address to someone who matters at T/R Productions or the WB???

Pardon me for stating the obvious, but whatever we do, we need to do it fast because I won't have anything to watch on Wednesday nights anymore. BOP was the only reason I turned on the TV after the news went off at 7pm. I will post on a couple of my boards, and my website to get people to watch!

I watched the Twilight Zone before Birds of Prey started. The episodes these days are so dreary and sad nowadays, though. They kill so many people in that show.

I'd like to see if our efforts paid off. Does anyone know when the ratings for last night will come out?

Even if everyone would've liked the show, only the people that were watching it to begin with saw it.

The show has been cancelled, it's too late now to save it.

They're only making the series finale, now. Other than that, production is forever over.

Yeah, Jordan Levin got his wish, he wants the show gone, and that's how it will stay.

Unless someone kidnaps the cast or something and forces them to act, at gunpoint. Otherwise, the show is canceled. Forever.

Well I just thought of something. Why don't we send in an item that has to do with the show? Remeber what the fans of Roswell did? I think if we got enough people to send in an item then the media would catch on!! The publicity would sure help. Can anyone think of an item we could send to the WB? PM me with ideas if you have any...

My dear Frostbite, you aren't being very positive on the subject. Many of us don't want a good thing to go to waste! If there's something that you like, you shouldn't let it go without a fight!

Sure I like the show. Sure I want it to be on forever and ever. But I know that's never going to happen. They canceled it, it's over. Deal with it. There is nothing you can do.

Thank you Gothic Knight! Stand up for what we believe in! After all, we could very well save the series. You never know...Perhaps I get this 'Never say die' attitude from my religion...

Even a write-in campaign didn't work for Star Trek. The fans themselves kept it alive and in constant rotation in syndication. This led to the movies and the spin-off series.
So, go ahead and write-in, I don't think it would hurt. Just be sure to write nice, professional letters praising all the things they did correctly and why you like the show. Avoid using insults (e.g. "You're so stupid for cancelling this show!") Paper means more than an email.
*Then* get a subscription to the comic book and buy the trade paper back that's currently out and the next one as well. Write into the comic asking for more BOP related merchandise, ask which issues in the past have had The original Huntress' adventures (She appeared in mini adventures in the back of Wonder Woman comics in the 80's). Send them photos of you dressed in costume and fanart.
Money and potential money, unfortunately speaks louder than words. They may decide to bring back some form of the show, even if it's not the way it is now.
However, I think the networks have some conspiracy against tv female action heroes. Witchblade was cancelled despite excellent ratings and a huge fan base. Because it was too expensive to make in the current struggling economy.

I agree with you on the conspiracy against tv female action heroes. I am surprised that Buffy is in Season 7, and that Xena made it as far as it did. Witchblade was one of my favorite shows because I have every single comic. Sometimes I wonder if women do have the so-called rights that people say we do, when every time you turn around and a show with great female characters gos off the air!

And they should draft women into the army, too!
Canary

I was in the air force for five years, stationed in Brunswick. Why not draft women into the army? I think they could do a lot.
Frostbite
11-30-2002, 05:59 PM
And it's just wrong not to! It's no fair to the men that don't want to join the army, but get drafted anyway. I wouldn't want to be drafted. Drafting women as well as men would cut my chance in half.
The feminists are always like, "Ooooh, equal rights!" "Ooooh, treat us fairly!"
But when war time comes, "Ooooh, the army is for men! We're too weak and frail!"
It makes me sick.

I know what you mean. When I was in boot camp, the women were talking about what happened if they had to fly over a country that disliked us and they started firing at them. Next thing I knew, there wasn't that many women left, the somehow managed to *hurt* themselves...When some of these women first joined up they talked about how they could do it all. It's pathetic! You didn't see me running away, saying leave it to the men.

It's not that men dislike women, or that women are up to the challenge. It is because men want to feel that if they get a leg blown off, that someone is capable of picking them up and taking them to a secure area. Plus it's too much hassle keeping both genders in their own bunks. Keeping the attention of a soldier is hard enough with war going on, but having a female soldier down (everybody has to drop everyting). Another thing...war can last for many years, men don't get pregnant and be unable to work, leaving the military resposible to send them back to home. Does anybody know that in WWII, the military did not allow any nurses younger than 30 (I think) to help out in the war? I can probably understand women navigating boats, or decoding messages. I'm sure there will be some cases of heroines, but their will be a bunch more cases of women dying in combat leaving behind 3 kids. Having women in combat is just too much of a hassle. Everybody, that's why there is no draft for the females. I'm helping the military on my job. So are alot of ladies. I'm not aloud to say what I do, but you ladies sure could help if you want to help the great country of the US. Maybe if you private message me, I'll tell you what I do. In summation of what I said...women can do alot for the security of this nation, but should not be in combat.
Also, if I give a picture of me in BoP outfits, BoP will never come back. I'll scare WB away!!

I don't think there is anyway that we can put it back on the air. They have said that BOP will not be returning...and the actors have moved on. But we can still have it on DVD. To vote, go to www.tvshowsondvd.com, or www.freewebs.com/skinny_bones4 :symbol:
