Birds of Prey is the best show i've seeing in years. But to be honest i really don't see how this show can be saved. I hoped this show would stay for the long run but after seeing this weeks ratings, the thoughts of throwing the towel is going through my head. unless another network is willing to pick up the series or the executive producers desides to go to sindication it's pretty much over.

Has anyone heard anything back from the production staff yet as to what we can be doing? I would just like some definite news on what's going on.

The show was up against the season finale of the Bachelor and that Victoria's Secret show. I don't think the ratings are that bad considering all this.

Yeah, the ratings are abyssmal. WB doesn't care that it's up against tough opposition, because even the demographics are abyssmal. The Flash was up against The Cosby Show for most of its run in 1990/91, but that didn't save it from the axe.

Does anyone know how Birds of Prey did in the key demographs?

I am not surprised, so I don't know why everyone else is. The episode hardly got any "real" promotion at all, while some of the other shows did.

The ratings being down was a foregone conclusion.

I think that since the Bachelor has ended, there will be a huge chunk of audience looking for something to watch on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. Just maybe a good portion of the Bachelor audience will shift over to BoP this Wednesday.

Yes, hopefully better next week with the BoP double feature.

In the San Francisco area this week, "Split" was up against:
ABC: Bachelor finale
CBS: Victoria's Secret
NBC: The West Wing
UPN: Twilight Zone

Next week for "Lady Shiva" I think it's:
ABC: Paul McCartney Concert Special
CBS: Amazing Race
NBC: West Wing
UPN: Twilight Zone

Are there many BoP-prone viewers that love Paul McCartney?
-----
Edit: I forgot it's the day before Thanksgiving too. Dunno what the impacts of this would be.
Edit: West Wing

Ok, I found some more info regarding the ratings for Split from the Daily Variey: NBC's second-place "West Wing" (5.0/12 in A18-49) held up pretty well, declining just a tick week to week and beating "Secret" by 26%, while the WB's "Birds of Prey" (2.1/5) was up slightly. Fox's "Fastlane" (2.9/7) seemed most affected, down 12% from the previous week.

Ok, so it says that numbers went up slightly, yet on this site the numbers went down. I'm confused. Well, at least Variety says that ratings went UP. What do you guys think?

BoP vs Paul McCartney is going to be a tough one for me since i love BoP and i've always being a huge Beatles fan. *damm* decisions decisions. No matter i can watch one show and tape the other and since i've always known what kind of banana heads the wb are i'll tape bop like i always do. Never mind i can always watch Paul some other time i think i'll watch and tape BoP.

Those are the numbers for the 18-49 demographic. So, BoP was slightly up in the 18-49 demographic than it was last week. That may or may not mean that it was slightly up overall from last week.

This site reports the overnights on the front page--which were down from last week. Based on the average decline of this show between the overnight rating and the actual rating, I'm guessing that BoP will come in at somewhere in the 2.3-2.5 range, although it's possible it could go as low as a 2.1. (It received a 2.5 last week.)

That sounds about right, Lita. Low numbers no matter which figure is accurate.

According to my tv guide, Birds of Prey are up against:

CBS: Survivor, then Amazing Race 3
NBC: Tim McGraw Concert, then The West Wing
UPN: Enterprise, then Twilight Zone
FOX: Bernie Mac, Cedric, then Fastlane
ABC: My Wife/Kids, George Lopez, then Paul McCartney in concert

So they are up against comedies on 2 channels and 2 concerts. Totally different genre's. And with Survivor, they kicked off the last cute girl so there's no one interesting left to watch ;)

I don't know how many younger people will want to watch these concerts... so I'm crossing my fingers here that ratings go up.

No probably not. The thought was good while it lasted though. Heh. Just kinda irks me that I can't sit down on Wednesdays at 8 anymore and anxiously await another episode of Birds of Prey. :( But hopefully, we can get our show back someday. :D

No Burning The WB! Just keep annoying them to sell the rights to the show, Call them & Write them, they are gonna burn themselves in the ratings with their new fall season, we can all just sit back and laugh, HAHA! Anyway the ratings could reflect what we have all experienced in the Northeast, Poor Advertising and Scheduling!
