View Full Version : How would you like Birds of Prey to end?

As it looks like there is going to be a two-hour finale to the series, what would you like to see happen?
Personally, I would want to see Harley creating chaos as the Joker makes his way to New Gotham. While I don't know exactly what happens, I know that Helena should die to make things more dramatic for both Dinah, Barbara and Harley. To make things more interesting, I think Bruce should show up for the funeral if Helena dies. Joker should betray Harley and try to get Barbara himself, but then Harley should stop the Joker as she realises her mistake. Detective Reese should face-off against his father and defeat him. Then we should see Barbara sending Dinah (now Black Canary) through a museum under siege and a new generation beginning.

If it has to end, I would prefer to see it open-ended, leaving the characters as they are and raising more questions than answers. That way the door is left open for another attempt at a weekly series or some TV movies. That said, I'm still holding out for a successful make-over of the series we have now and I'm not willing to contemplate an 'ending' at all.
Good question, though....

With the return of Batman and keep him alive.

I honestly think that their should be some sort of reunio between Batman and Huntress. They should duke it out. Then Babrbra sees that Joker has escaped from Arkham with the assistance of Halrey Quinn. Batman and Huntress realize that they are fighting for all the wrong reasons and that they are on the sme side. They should work things out and go after the Joker and Harley.

And to add on to what you see above... Harley and Joker should have something really really big planned. I mean like big anthrax laughing gas scare or something huge like that. Then when Joker heres that Batman returns he should taunt him and just do wht the Joker always has done. Drive him crazy. And word should get to Bludhaven that the Joker has escped and there has been signs of Batman. That would prompt the Return of Nightwing....and if we are lucky it would be written into the story that Dick took in Tim Drake and they are fightig crime togther there. Dick would seriously lay the ?'s down on Bruce on why he left and stuff. With the whole team back together agoain it would be time to take care of buisness....I.E. Joker and Harley. The end should be really really suspensful....like everything coming down to the wire.....like maybe Batman getting hurt and Huntress saving him...but all in all Batman needs to take the Joker behind the woodshed an give him a serious WHOOPIN!
Thats my idea...i think it rocks...I think it needs somemore details but hey...

I think Harlequin and Hawke teaming up would be great, but...why stop there? If they're gonna go, go with a bang! Involve all the DCU villains in this: Lex Luthor, Penguin, Magneto (wait...that's Marvel...LOL) Oracle could learn that this final battle for New Gotham would be way more than they can handle. Helena and Reese manage to get the good cops on their side, but it still isn't enough.
Oracle decides that it's time to push the proverbial "red button." She contacts the JLA. Sure they've aged some, but they're better than nothing. We get Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, even the old Robins. The JLA manage to persuade Batman to come back for one last fight.
Helena and Brucie end up having conflicts, that's a no brainer, but the JLA are also having conflicts as well. They turn out to not be the team everyone expects them to be.
The Battle Royale happens. Super hero against Super villain. Dinah has taken up the guise of the Black Canary in honor of her mother. Oracle stays up in the Clocktower doing tech-tactical.
One by one, hero and villain alike fall to their deaths in battle. Batman manages to avenge Barbara and Selina by taking out the Joker, but he's injured badly. His last words are with Helena, telling her how much he loved her mother and that he felt too ashamed to take Helena in after her mother died because he believed he was responsible for her death. He kisses his daughter on the cheek and dies.
Helena becomes enraged and manages to take out several men, but not before Harlequin opens fire on her using a gun that attacks the mind as well as the body. Dinah tries to save Helena by using her telepathic powers to re-establish Helena's capability to think while simultaneously using her telekinetic powers to remove the shells from Helena's body. It's too much strain for Dinah to deal with and she dies of a massive annurism, but not before letting out one last Canary Cry that people can hear the whole world 'round.
In the end, New Gotham lay in ruin. Civilian bodies lay in the street as they had been caught in the crossfire. Earth's greatest heroes and dangerous villains are all dead, save two: Barbara and Harlequin. They each swear that war isn't over and battle will continue once they've replenished their forces.
Depressing, yet leaves room for continuation...

I'd like to see some reunions as well. But I also would like to see everyone get some screen time in. Let the entire cast shine in the night!
I see Harley breaking the Joker out of prison and they begin to wreak havoc on New Gotham. Bruce, upon hearing that the Joker has returned, comes back to Gotham for one last showdown. Maybe he could be completely different than the calm, collected Bruce that we've all come to know. Like he's still half-crazy with grief and guilt over what happened to Barbara and Selina's murder. This time, he's out for blood.
Rumors make it to Bludhaven about the return of Joker and Batman. Determined to put an end to the green-haired psychopath, Nightwing and Robin (if he's there) pack and head for New Gotham.
By this point, there is some heap-big angst going on between everyone. Helena and Dick are POed at Bruce, Tim is hurt that Bruce left them when they needed him most and says that they all could have helped one another, Barbara is too close to them to really reign in the chaos.
Maybe Dinah could do something to get them to work together. And on the side, maybe she could kind of be a little awed at meeting all these famous superheroes. I mean, these guys are the greats! Batman, Nightwing, and Robin. The original team! I would think that any teenager would have a little case of hero worship.
Maybe they could agree to work together for the sake of the city and getting rid of the Joker and Harley. But the distrust that still runs rampant doesn't make them very effective in battle. It could take one of them getting hurt (like Dinah, the only truly innocent one in the party) to get them to overcome their prejudices and let them work as a true team-a family.
Then, in the end, we have the Joker and Harley either locked up again, or, preferably, dead. Everyone agrees to try and work things out. Bruce and Helena agree to take things slowly.
Perhaps we could then fade out on a sunrise coming up behind a building and a black cat watching the group-you know, a little symbolism that shows that Selina is still watching over the people she loves...
Of course, we'd have to find something for Reese to do in the midst of all this. Maybe he could be out fighting in the streets and Helena is trying to help him but still torn between doing that and ripping her father to shreds.
Okay, I think I'll stop now before I turn a two-hour finale into a four hour movie. *blushes*

Those are some kick @$$ ideas!!
I'd like to see the Joker break out and him and Harley go on a crime spree. Barbara somehow gets back in touch with Batman, Batman comes back. Helena has already made it to one crime scene, Batman shows up and they fight it out.
I'd LOVE *putting it mildly* to see Nightwing make a visit.
And I just thought of something *it's gonna sound stupid* but maybe the WB went at the show a totally wrong way *duh* but maybe they should've added more characters. I know it's about the comic and everything. But instead of having Black Canary make an appearance they should've made her a regular character. Not killed her off in that fire. They should've had Nightwing make an appearance and maybe join the group.
I dunno lol I'm just rambling now *shuts up*

Black Canary is one of the only people that didn't make me cry when they died. I cried when the Lone Gunmen died on the X Files, I cried when Ryan died on Smallville, and I cried when Edith died on All in the Family. But none of the deaths on Birds of Prey are tear inducing.

If there had been a pouring out of the heart between Black Canary and Dinah I probably would've cried. But you're right none of the deaths are tear inducing. And you are also right about Black Canary possibly not being dead. I know they never showed a body but *don't kill me if I'm wrong* I thought Reese told his dad that he made Dinah watch her mother die. And I know just because he said that doesn't mean anything. I guess they did that so if they brought her back it would be a major shock.

First of all The Black Canary is totally a secondary character...she was only in one episode ans Dinah has gotten over it ....we need to focus on BATMAN! He is the only reason that all this stuff is happening....

This my ending for Birds of Prey:
Harley has finally recieved all the resources she needs to let mayhem occur in New Gotham City. The story unfolds and we discover why Harley needed weapons, money, assasinations. Then Harley blows up Gotham's bridges connecting it the main land and lets all the lunatics loose. The psychos run wild destroying, stealing, and killing.
Meanwhile Helena recieves a letter from her father explaining many things to her about himself and his actions. It probably says things about abandoning her because he allowed a horrible act happen to Helena although he doned his cowl to prevent pain and suffering. She doesn't know what to think.
All the birds are overwealmed by the current mayhem. Oracle is trying her hardest to stop it. She not only tries to save the innocent but find the cause of the crisis. She gives Dinah the responsibility of saving the innocent from thugs, robbers, and maybe even killers.
Helena then investigates for the master mind. But Harleen knows this all to well that Helena would be looking for her. She wants to hurt Helena physically and emotionally. She sends mercenaries to come after Barbara, Helena's only family and friend.
We get a flashback of how Harley met the joker. We see her working with the joker and eventually falling in love with her.
Being attacked in the clock tower, Barbara uses tear gas, birdarangs, and her escrima sticks to defeat the assasins. By using information she gathered she finally realizes that Harley is the master mind.
She contacts both field agents. Dinah arrives first to Quinzel's office and they fight. Unfortunately Dinah is almost killed by Harleen, but Huntress saves her. Huntress and Harley fight. Loosing Harley uses Helena's emotions as a last attempt to survive. She tells her in Flashback view, that she harbored the joker for those few hours after the last fight. She also told the joker to not attack batman but the ones he loved.
Huntress finally gets another opportunity to kill Harley, but she doesn't. She finally realizes why her father never executed revenge. Harleen is wheeled off to Arkham.
The birds talk in front of the clock tower and we see Batman watching them. He smiles because he knows New Gotham is safe and leaves.

It should end like this:
Al Hawke is still in the hospital. Harley visits him and asks what happened. He tells her about the new heroes in the town. She is so pissed he kills him and says "there's only one person who can take down these heroes and drive the city into turmoil, and thats me!!" Somehow she finds the clocktower. She goes there to find Dinah there . So she takes Dinah and Babs hostage and introduces her to the Joker, who Harley busted out of prison. Meanwhile, we see Reese and Helena walking in the park talking about stuff. They start realizing their love for each other and kiss. Before anything goes further, both of them are knocked out by Harley's guys. They wake up in the alley where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. Helena see's Dinah and Babs chained up, then she realizes shes chained up as well. She sees Harley and says " Dr. Quinzel?!!" Harley says , " No Helena. I'm Harley Quinn!! And these are my fellow Psychologists!!" All of a sudden, Penguin and Joker pop up!!! They torture Helena and the Joker says, " You are just as weak as your mother!!" She get so pissed she breaks the chains she's in and Dinah also breaks herself and Babs free using her telekinisis. They put up a good fight and knock everybody out, even Harley!!! After that they check up on each other. But then behind them Joker creeps up behind Helena and almost stabs her. But before he can, a dark, masked figure descends from the sky. It's BATMAN!!! He kicks Joker really hard in the head. Babs looks on in awe. After Joker
is down, he goes and talks to Babs. " Long time no see Barbara." "Yes it has Bruce." Then he looks over at Helena, wondering who she is. " Who's this Barbara? She looks like Selina." Babs tells him, "Bruce, thats your daughter." He looks at Barbara and says,"That's impossible. I've never been with anyone. except........." "Selina, right?" Bats goes over to talk to Helena."Barbara told me I'm your..." "Father. Yeah that's true." they start bickering and Helena says some stuff about how she needed a father. Bruce says, "I'm sorry Helena, me and your mom just didn't get along very well." "You mustv'e got along with her pretty good to have a kid with her!!" Then, she turns away. Batman goes to Barbara. " I don't think she wants anything to do with me." " I think it's best if you go now Bruce." So, he goes back into the shadows. the three women talk on the clocktower again. "Why didn't you give your father a chance Helena?" "He can't just show up in my life suddenly and ask me to forgive him! Plus, I have a feeling he'll be back soon." The camera goes up on the tip of the clocktower and shows Batman watching on them, proud of them, especially his daughter.
just my thoughts, nothin special. cool thread idea by the way

I think I said in in another thread, but the best way to end BoP would be this :
DR. QUINNLAN sits reading at her desk. There is a knock at her door.
HARLEY
Morons forgot their keys again...
HARLEY stands up and approaches the door.
HARLEY
(Yells) This better be good!
She pulls back the door, and the camera POV is from the other side, looking in at HARLEY opening the door.
A look of shock, then that unmistakeable Harley Quinn smile crosses her face.
HARLEY
Mistah Jay!
FADE TO BLACK
Now, if THAT didn't get people to come back to BoP, I don't know what would.

Here's the way I think it should all end--no details just the highlights of the climax and wrap-up.
Harley carries out whatever nefarious plan she has going, weapons of mass destruction, Watchtower breached, all involved in huge battle. Harley--who could possibly be revealed to be the person who actually killed Catwoman (who else would Mr. J entrust with the job)--dies in the battle but not before taking out Reese who was trying to protect the Huntress. Batman -- who will be revealed to have been observing events for some time and who will have done some Batman-heroic thing to help reconcile with his daughter --I leave it to the writers to figure out exactly what--Are you following me here? Batman will step in to comfort Helena. The two of them will tour the world to get to know each other better and so Bruce can put her through the same training and experience he went through to become Batman because she relies too much on her meta abilities.
This will leave Oracle and Dinah in Gotham to eventually become just like the comic book version of Birds of Prey -- Oracle and Black Canary. But...while Dinah is still in training... Dick "Nightwing" Grayson will transfer from Bludhaven to cover for the absent Huntress, help train Dinah and resume his romance with Oracle.
We fade out with the whole bunch up there on the roof with the clock.
