When a hit is put on the life of legendary mob boss, Al Hawk (Pileggi), the only person he trusts to protect him is his son, Detective Reese (Shemar Moore). Reese turns to Helena (Ashley Scott) for help, but when she learns that Reese's father is the same man who killed Dinah's (Rachel Skarsten) mother, Black Canary, her loyalties are tested.

*cackles and rubs hands together* More angst for our heroes! And since I'm a complete sap, I'm happy to see more of the trials and tribulations of Reese and Huntress.
I can see it now...
Reese: Al Hawke's being targeted by an assassin.
Huntress: Kudos to that guy. I'll give him a medal if he succeeds.
Reese: Normally, I'd agree with you, but, well, my mom wouldn't.
Huntress: Why wouldn't your mom want to see a crime lord go down?
Reese: Because she's married to that crime lord. Has been for over twenty years. God knows why.
Huntress: You mean...
Reese: Yep.
Huntress: Well, at least I'm not the only one to have a fudged up family. But Dinah's not going to like this.
*sighs* I have to wait two weeks for this! *sulks*

I don't think so. His last name is Reese, not Hawke. Al and Ms. Reese probably had premarital sex.
According to thewb.com, Reese's mother is Angela Hawke. This was changed from Corinne Reese, who was originally in Primal Scream.

I think what it might have been is that if Angela and Al Hawke are still married, then Reese might have changed his name so he wouldn't be put into a connection to his father.
Didn't the WB's description state somewhere that Reese is trying to make up for what his father has done over the years? I think it did say something similiar.

Well there goes my theory that the guy who can walk through walls breaks out Hawke from jail so he can go after Dinah! Oh well!

Yeah, a crime lord has to have a ton of enemies. Heck, the man's son is practically one of them!
And Dinah would definitely want the man's head on a plate.

hey guys! just wondering..bop-online says that "nature of a beast" will air this week..dec 18th right? well i checked the tv guide today from the sunday newspaper and it's not there..i think it was replaced by a basketball game or something.. can someone double check and tell me if this is true? will BOP still air the newest episode coz i really don't wanna miss it!

No, unfortunately it won't be aired on KTLA this Wednesday due to the game. So it's important we try to find all those XFiles fans and get them to watch - we need the ratings!
I've heard that BoP will be aired on Saturday the 21st but my TV Guide does not go that far in advance.
It will still be on normal schedule on every other channel across the US but for those on the West coast, you'll have to wait for Saturday.
If you live on the coast, you can always protest by sending in the comics and showing them we want our show to stay on the air ;)
