I don't even pay attention to spoilers or where the show is headed for this particular show, but I always thought Babs and Dick should be together, and it would make sense right? Batman's gone, shouldn't Nightwing pay a visit, or the powers that be somehow just integrate Dick Grayson as part of Barbara's former life into the show, if only for one episode. I think it would work, but that's just my opinion :) What do you think?

I did read sometime back in Xpose that Nightwing could make an appearance.

Dina Meyer seems really interested in the Barbara/Dick relationship, so I definitely think there's a chance. I think it would be awesome if they brought Nightwing in as a guest star for the season finale and then kept him as a regular cast member starting season two. :D

Btw, Peace......I am with you on Babs & Dick being together. There was always chemistry there and I would like to see that again.
Be nice if it could happen, though I forsee that other guy, erm, Wade (?) throwing a spanner into things there......

Wade it is. But you can see from the unaired pilot that he is not satisfied completely of his relationship with Barb. He doesn't know ALL about her and he wants more than she gives him. Poor him :(
The scene is not supposed to air in the pilot we will see on TV. But we never know.
Indeed. And even if that scene is cut, he should still turn up in later episodes :) Oracle's character is just asking for a "normal" person to fall in love with her and complicate matters!

I wonder what Wade's character will be like. I hope they give him as much depth as possible. Another Whitney (a la Smallville style) wouldn't help the show at all.

well, i think, if he does make any appearance at all, it'll be brief and on rare occurences, like batman.

I think the show will establish the main characters first, because if they start throwing out new characters at non-comic fans of the show, it tends to confuse and lead to disinterest.

I have never read the comics, so when did Dick Grayson change from Robin to Nightwing?

i dunno if it's mentioned in the comics (i'm not a comic book reader, either), but i remember that robin becomes nightwing a couple years or so after being batman's partner. hope that helps.

In a sense, I like this idea, but in a sense, I don't. I would really like the show to stay away from the comic books. I think this is a new era for Gotham City, and I really would like there to be a new beginning. After all, Gotham does have a new name, New Gotham. ;)
That's a good idea though. After all, it would never hurt to see some friendly old faces. :)

I don't Nightwing appearing just yet... Meybe in mid season, when every character is better established. A love triangle between Barb/Wade and Nightwing would be fun to watch.

I think that it would be great for Nightwing to make an appearance on the show. The complex interplay between Dick and Babs is one of the things that makes the BoP comic book series so compelling. He's around the same age as Barbara, so it makes sense that he would still be an active crimefighter.
However, I agree that bringing in Nightwing during the first season would be way too early. The show really needs to be able to stand on it's own before they start bringing in guest characters, otherwise it will seem too much like a simple gimmick to boost ratings. Once the the main characters have been fleshed out and the writers have really hit their stride, then start sending in other established DC characters.
This could also add an interesting dramatic element. If Nightwing hasn't been around, why not? He and Babs were pretty close, so why would he leave? Maybe something happened to strain their relationship, something that still hasn't been resolved. This could add some tension when Mr. Grayson finally does make an appearance (early-to-mid season 2 would be good).

dick actually broke off on his own to join the teen titans (apparently an up and coming cartoon network show now) back in the early 80's. he took on the nightwing persona soon after to express this break from the batman.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dick Grayson/Nightwing showing up. It is a show based on a comic book after all and you already have 3 comic book characters, well 6, I forgot about Harley, Alfred, and J.Reese. So it makes perfect sense to have other characters poping in to New Gotham. The Dick Grayson character really would fit in. He is a cop now working for the Bludhaven Police Department. He could be working on a huge case that takes him back to New Gotham. The writers of the show just have to be creative and clever enough to come up with a great story.
P.S. There are however certain characters I don't want to see poping up in new gotham like Aquaman, Green Lantarn or the Flash. I don't even want to see Superman.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you want to see Green Lantern et al in New Gotham? Just don't like those characters?
