ok this might be totally in the wrong bit but i thought i am not a new citizen so it don’t belong in dark horse bar anyway just an announcement to say I AM BACK!

This forum look very different now but so I have lots to learn.

this whole internet thing is weird for me as I haven’t used it for like six months! as my computer didn’t work and I have been living in a van.
Basically an ex boyfriend of mine well his band struck some record deal with a small label and they where put on tour so me using my big mouth managed to be their support act. not as glamorise as it sounds. me and my band played in the worst places although it was very rock and roll with many parties. Things just got very crazy and ended with Dean my drummer nearly dieing from a heroin overdose. he’s still in hospital recovering now.
I left the whole rock and roll thing feeling very depressed and I was in the other side of the country with no money. And although it sounds adventurous trust me wasn’t it was very scary. I got as many free car rides as I could and met some weird intresting people.
I then lived with an elderly couple in their B and B as their waitress and cleaner to get my money to get back to my home town. I am now at home and things are calm again.
i now work in a lovely little book shop (I know the complete opposite to the rock lifestyle but its quiet and that’s what I need) I am now currently working with a fabulous producer/guitarist and where making demos. its very exciting. I am doing a very Lo Fi simple lyrically based music just me and a guitar really. I hope to post some of my material online soon.

So anyway I am now half way through watching birds of prey again on tape! And I decided it was about time I came back to the forum.

'ello Lady R. - My fave drink when I am back in UK now has a name I can connect with. Welcome home.
Any of us in this business can identify with your travails being on the road, lousy living quarters, lousier food, unreliable 'playing' mates etc., I just want to say, "Be good to yourself, nourish your gift and believe in your talent. You don't need validation from losers. Hold steadfast and you will shine. Cheers ducky Ian (Olde Alfredo)

Lady R! Glad you're back...and, even more importantly, glad you're safe & sound.

Yeah, adventures sure can suck, can't they?

I will say, though, I totally envy you working in a cozy little book shop! That's, like, my dream job. I love books.

Good luck with your music! And, it's real nice to have you back. Stick around!

nice to see Ian is still posting! and yes SamIAm working in a book shop is preety hot. my advice to like i did was just keep sending your C.V to every shop you want to work in town. just keep doing it and eventually you might get in.
