This is sort of speculation so I figured why not put this thread here. Anyone feel like being creative?

We all work different jobs here such as driving a cab, teachers, pet store workers, sadistic McDonald's clerk, printers, home improvement stores, etc, etc, etc. We somehow seem to survive the daily grind of our jobs but I ask you (cue Psycho shower music - *reee reeee reeee*)

What would happen if the Birds
 were working YOUR job?

Could Helena survive as the many customers order Big Macs or could anyone survive Barbara's taxi driving? Think Dinah would spend far too much time reading the pets' minds or comparing her canary cry with the other birds? What? Do tell? Can they hack it?

What would Harley do if she were working at the home improvement store? And really, could you see Alfred doing computer technical support? Details! Details! Let's hear the scenerios.

Pick a character and describe the adventures/nightmares they may have being in your shoes for a day. :D

My job: Part-time cook at a day treatment center for seriously mentally ill adults. There's a small cafeteria on the premises; we serve a low-cost breakfast and lunch for the patients at the facility (For some of our patients, this is their ONLY meal of the day. :( )

Dinah: Would go crazy after reading the minds of all the schizophrenics, manic-depressives, and obsessive-compulsives wandering about. She would be fired after two weeks for violating patient confidentiality rules by blurting out someone's case history in public ("Do you REALLY believe the CIA is transmitting messages through your bridgework, Mr. Mashburn?")

Helena: Would lose her temper, cause a scene, and be fired after one week ("RAY, WAKE UP! THE PHONE'S RINGING, DAMMIT!")

Barbara: She COULD work in the kitchen, but I doubt she would be particularly happy there. She'd probably be better off working in the office (behind the computer, of course ;) .)

You think Helena would last a week? Huh... I would have given her half a day at best doing that job.

Im the training and Development manager of three hotels in Acapulco, Mex...}

Barbara: Definitly she would turn crazy and began to organize this disorder working in all the manuals and procedures. The most hard part would be try that the departamental chiefs understand about what she was talking about. they are good for work but about rules they don't know anything.

Helena: After kill 4 or 5 a......s -incluiding my boss- she surely would quit and return to her Bar to work, she would think than this guys don't deserver her time and her few patiente...

Dinah: She would sit and cry and surely she would give a hard Canary Cry angry; of course after it she would go back to New Gotham or a more peaceful place....

As for my job. I am cashier in the Garden Center @ a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Barbara: Well she would have a hard time doing that job due to bieng confined to a wheelchair. Not that Wal-Mart would not employ her. Just not as a cashier.

Helena: I don't think she would last long after orientation, much less her 90 probationary period. She would lose it with a customer.

Dinah: She might actually have what it takes to be a Garden Center cashier. The whole mindreading thing would help her with difficult customers. Her telekenisis would help her with putting up stock.

Just my thoughts.

I'm a high school student.

Barbara: She would blurt out all the answers - she'd know everything already! Then she'd wonder what she was doing there. She might also get in trouble for bringing her laptop and hacking into the government's systems.

Helena: Ditch. She would SO ditch.

Dinah: Dinah might actually be able to handle it. I mean, she IS a high school student herself...

I work at a carwash. I clean between the doors, the dashboard, the windows and i vacumm them.

Barbara: It will be hard for her to do my job because she is confined to a wheelchair.
But she will be good as a superviser or a manager at my job.

Helena: Well she won't last 2 hours, because she will lose her temper at a customer and
get fired.

Dinah: Well she will be happy, because of all the cute guys that bring they're cars.
She can use her telekenisis to do her job better. And with her mindreading she can
learn a lot of secrets that people have.

as i read this thread, i know everyone is probably thinking that the only one would could do the job of The Supreme Dictator is harley. however, i would like to propose that it would actually be barbara that could be a Supreme Dictator.

The facts:

Dinah is too sweet and, obviously, doesn't have it in her to be a dictator, supreme or otherwise. after all, she wants to be a superhero. disgusting, isn't it?

Helena, while suffuciently angry and arrogant, doesn't really have the brains to pull it off. No, she has the brains, she doesn't have the ambition. She likes her freedom and likes to be rather "hands on" with people. She could never hold up to the mental challenges/stress of the job.

Harley, the obvious choice, while she would make an excellent dictator, could never do my job as The Supreme Dictator. why, you ask? because she would have killed all of you by now for the unacceptable insolence that you display. refuse to bow to her, she will kill you. i, on the other hand, have shown myself to be infinitely patient with the whole pathetic lot of you (except gf, you rock, dude!)

that brings us to barbara. the cyber genius with the ability to be patient under the most trying of circumstances. (dinah's telekinetic tantrums, helena's poptart obsession) additionally, she has the self-control to realize that if she kills people, her kingdom will get smaller (never a good thing for a Supreme Dictator). finally, she has the brains and the capability to create and excute evil plans for creating her dictatorship. alas, deep down she IS a good guy, so she could never truly do the job.

that leaves me. yes, yours truly, the only person who can fulfill the job description of The Supreme Dictator. Bow to my supremacy. :teehee:

Hmmm. . . Could they do my job. . . I don't know. As most of you all know, I'm a paramedic for a local fire department, Work every third day for 24 hours and generally don't have a whole lot of time. But this thread caught my eye and I thought, why not?

If they where real people, no.

And before I get burned at the stake, hear me out, please.

I've been shot at, puked on, cussed out, hugged, kissed, thanked, kicked, punched, propsed to, (Granted, he had just hit a tree going 70 mph and probably had some fantastic head trauma going on, but I'm a romantic sap like most women out there and thought, although it was weird, cool.) I've had to tell people that their loved one has died and no, that even with all of my training, I couldn't save them.

As most Police, Fire, EMS, CSI, Doctors, Nurses, and civil servants out there know, we have a thankless job. A job we wouldn't think of changing in the world, one most of our families don't understand. I personally think its horrible that something as tragic and heart wrenching as 9/11 had to happen for others to realize just what we go through on a daily basis, the choices we make, ones we have to make, Ones we force our familyies to accept, even if it means we might never see our families again. We are everyday people, someones mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, grandfather, grandmother, you get the picture- yet our funding is the first on the choping block. Stations are forced to down size, duel train everybody, in one area near where I live, if your a cop, your also a medic and a firefighter as well-there go's two jobs. But thats getting off topic, and I am trying to stay in line, so, anyway- I personally think that under the word hero in websters should be the name of every man & woman who has died in the line of duty severing their country, from the military, Police, Fire, EMS and so on. Because with out them, we wouldn't be where we are today.

So, If they where real, and still had their TV personalities, NO.

Helena would get puked one once and lose it.

Dinah would faint at the first sign of blood.

Barbara would go crazy because sometimes, things go way off the plan.

Alfred. . . . He would make it. I can see him as a good fire chief, he's fair and level headed.

But this is where we all come in: Since they are charecters, we can make them anything we want to, they can become the strongest people out there because we can shape them into what we want them to become. and that is the beauty of it.

So, I hope I didn't offend anyone, that wasn't my intention, and I'm sorry if I did. Its just how I feel on wondering if they could take my job OR yours. Because we are unique-no one can ever replace us.

Could any of them possibly last a day walking in my dark bootsteps?

Perhaps.

That depends on which boot you refer to. The right, being my boot of world domination and evil mayhem I think would cause a bit of difficulty...considering their current profession. The left, a boot of burger flippage and employment at McDonalds might be a bit easier however.

Barbara: Honestly, I think Barbara would make a fantastic world dominator. She has the mental capacity, as well as a thirst for violence. Perhaps she veiled it under a female rodents mask, but I'm sure it could be pulled out for much more....sadistic purposes. MUAHAHAHAHAHA...Not quite sure if she could master the evil laugh though. As for working at McDonalds, I imagine she could deal as well. She is rather resourceful, though the grease would get her soon enough.

Helena She too would make a good world dominator, but she would burn out far too quickly. Impulsivity would blind her, and eventually a minion would run amok and betray her, leading everything to ruin. In my other not so culinary field, I give her fifteen minutes before she knocks a rude customer or hovering manager in the face before walking out.

Dinah Someday, maybe, she might have the capacity to even be worthy of my job as Darkphoenix, World Dominator and Almighty Evil One. But she'd have to get a few lessons in darkness from Harley, among a few others. However, if fate smiled down upon her and handed her my job anyway.....ten minutes. That's all I give her before her concious goes all "save the world" on everyone. At McDonalds...eh...she'd probably do better than I am. After all, she's much more of a people person and about as close to your normal teenage fast food drone as your going to get amongst the three.

Could someone please get Dark away from the Psycotropic meds?! It's bad enough with Night! Unless they both start trying to use potatos for world domination.....:scared: LOL

Hmm....let's see....Babs as a cabbie.....ok, I could see that....but would she put up with the sheer number of drunken men hitting on her every night?

Helena....oh, yeah----THAT'S GONNA HAPPEN! She'd go meta on the first person that tried to get out of paying and give them an atomic wedgie from the top of the first available light pole! APD kinda frowns on that. :teehee: But she'd have plenty of time for poptarts! LOL

Dinah: She'd never have a major problem with customers: either they pay or they end up a gooey mess in the back seat. Not much time left to fight crime, go shopping, etc.

Let's see... my old job:

Coling lathe operator... let's begin, shall we?

Barbara: Since this job required constant standing and uses a foot pedal to control the machine, Barbara couldn't perform this job... unless she finally gets the neural transponder to work permanently and safely; then she'd have no problem. Maintenance would probably get mad at her since she'd try to rewire the machine so that most of the work was computer controlled, and the maintenance folks are pretty touchy about others trying to do their job.

Helena: She wouldn't last a day... she'd complain about the heat (the machine is by a large oven that forms the coil in place and keep it's shape) and if she messed up a part, she'd go meta and break the machine most likely.

Dinah: Could do it easily, especially if she used her telekinesis to do most of the work... if not, she'd probably tire of it quickly since it can be quite boring.

Ashes to ashes,
Pheonyx
