Anyone else have their letter to Jordan Levin refused? I just got my mail and there's my letter....unopened and "REFUSED" written across the front of it. I guess he's not open to anyone's thoughts. :fume:

I had the same problem. My guess is that, following the anthrax scare, they stopped accepting mail at that address. Trying now to come up with an alternate one.

Really! Hmmm I never got my letter back! Wonder if it will now?!?
I wonder what we did different?

So I guess we must now stick to postcards?!?!

Over at the Save Roswell campaign,we have indeed been sending postcards because of network uneasiness about written letters post-anthrax scare. I guess that would probably be best here too.

Best wishes,

Scott

That's one reason. Another reason is that the decision is made, and no amount of letters, postcards etc. will change Levin's mind.

That's almost a good thing though since postcards are cheaper to mail. Oh and Helena Fan if you have time could you pm me about the Roswell Campaign?

Anthrax? How can they still be afraid of anthrax?

I sincerely doubt letters have been refused because the show is cancelled; if they are returned unopened then he has no clue what the contents of the letter are.

As for anthrax, I don't really have an opinion on that.

I haven't had any of mine refused or returned as yet. I did put the Start a Revolution Save the Birds of Prey Logo on the envelope. Not sure if that may have made a differece in tsi acceptance.

You see I did not put anything on my envelope to show it had to do with BoP.
I did however used a stamp for my address instead of writing it out.
I have not gotten mine back either. Who knows?!?!
I agree with Oracle. I don't think it has to do that the show is cancelled. Could be something else entirely.

Some are opened, and if they are seen to be about BoP, they are tossed in the trash. Some are returned.

Unfortunately that can hardly be possible if nothing is written on the envelope. Just because they open a letter doesn't mean all the other one's in the bag are the same. I know for a fact quite a few Angel viewers are writing in about the move to Wednesday as well. I have friends who like Angel that have in fact just done that.

The most probable option is mail room incompetence. It happens at places with huge mail rooms. I send things out all the time to major publishers who get hundreds of letters a day. Occassionally something gets returned. I was upset at first thinking I hadn't even been given the chance, but then was assured by published authors that sometimes things just get sorted wrong.

Places like WB would get a lot of mail with complaints, fan mail, show ideas, teleplays from hopeful screenwriters, etc. Usually from a place like that, you don't get anything returned unless you include a Self-addressed stamped envelope. (SASE) Even then you may be graced with a form letter.

If someone didn't want to read the letter or didn't like the letter, it would be recycled. Returning is too much effort. So the letter probably just got sorted to the return pile where someone mechanically returned it. Just like an assembly line. No time or money to spend on making individual return decisions on each envelope that comes in.

I've been trying to PM you for the past couple of days about the Roswell campaign but your mailbox has been full. Would it be easier if I E-Mailed you?

Best wishes,

Scott

Hi! Just popping over here from Roswell to show my support- Keep the postcards rolling! Remember, there should have never been a Roswell season two OR three-- Only because of the fans! We still haven't given up!

Why would you be in awe of them? The show was still cancelled, never to return...

Because they worked hard at something they cared about. So in the end, they failed, but they tried and that's a great life lesson.

We all can't succeed but we can all try to do our best, no matter what the circumstances.

Hi- Since I'm just a visitor here I won't say much & I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but you are right TheWraith , the show was cancelled. But that was after it had been saved by the fans two other times. Yeah, two other times it was cancelled and was fan resurrected.

As for never to return? Never say never :D Especially when you are campaigning!!

Good Luck :)

It took us Forever Knight fans a heckuva longtime and the Battlestar Galactica fans even longer but we've both been proven success stories too ;) You are 100% right, Becky...never say never ;)

The phrase "Never say never" is an oxymoron. In saying that, you are indeed saying never.

Trying to keep the show on the air is fine by me (now), but if you use oxymorons in the process, that gets me peeved.

You can say what you like, but Roswell is gone for good, nothing was achieved there. It's cancelled, same as BoP, and I see nothing to be in awe of!

You mean we're just supposed to roll over, play dead, and not do a goddamn thing to save our show?

I won't buy that. I won't accept that ... and the campaign won't accept it, either.

If we have to, let's complain to AOL/TW!

Richard D. Parsons

AOL Time Warner Inc.

Surely SOMEBODY is above Levin.

Levin may have the right to cancel a show; at the same time, we the fandom do not have to sit back and take it -- at least, not so long as there are people who are above him we can complain to.

What exactly IS the relationship between Turner and The WB ... if not parent company and subsidiary? Judging from the company website (http://www.turner.com/about/tabs_blue.html), The WB appears to be one of several networks under the Turner aegis.

In the final analysis, Levin is a little cog in the $8-billion machine that is AOL/Time-Warner.

And furthermore, how do we know Levin isn't putting up a smokescreen to mask the fact that he mishandled the show? (Letting it twist in the wind against The Bachelor wasn't exactly a smart move on his part, IMO; a sensible man would've done much more to protect such a supposedly expensive investment).

If I understand correctly, the primary cause of the problem was the inexperienced Laeta K. If I remember the credits to "Lady Shiva" correctly, she is now a co-executive producer with several other people; this would seem to indicate that (1) her duties have been scaled back and (2) whatever problems that may have existed in the past have been resolved.

I wouldn't rule out BOP not showing up someplace else; lately, it has had two things going for it:

Increasing ratings ("Lady Shiva" scored a 4.8 overnight rating ... on Thanksgiving Eve -- a night when no one was even supposed to be watching TV! )
An active, vocal, and GROWING fandom (if the hell we've caused Levin lately is any indication :D ). That's always a plus.
Buzz (or have we forgotten about our dear LisaM's press release campaign? ;) )

BOP is NOT Levin's personal plaything; no TV show is. He doesn't have the power to "bury" it.

Not same as BoP. Not yet, anyway. They had three seasons of Roswell, and they fought for the second and third like mad. I'd say getting two extra seasons is something achieved.

I'd sure as hell like another season of BoP and if, by some holiday miracle, we get that, then I'll say we achieved something too.

It's all in how you look at it.

Or least the WB could have ordered the additional nine episodes to make a full season.

Seven would only make it 20 episodes. Doesn't a full season usually go to 21 or 22 episodes?
