Is it just me or the writers copying the old idea from BATMAN YEAR ONE, where Batman and Gordon make an alliance. It starts out rough but eventually the two become allies. But there is one or two crucial changes, Helena is romantically involved and Resse is considered differently as a detective because of his work on the force with the metas.

No, I wasn't talking to you! I was talking to the person who posted right after you.
Yeah, they're copying from Batman: Year One, but can you blame them? That was a good story, and it works.
Other than that, I have no idea what any of the latter stuff was about, so I no comment.

They're not copying per se, as Jim wasn't Batman's love interest.
....Or was he?
Bruce wasn't Ace and Jim wasn't Gary...
At least, I hope not... here's hoping Kevin Smith isn't reading this, 'cause this could quickly devolve into Chasing Amy...

I see you're referencing the Ambiguously Gay Duo (http://alexrossart.com/rossreport/oct2001/img/ambigduomockcoverLG.jpg).
Yes, well, we all have our failings.
