me through this life time and three others.” Bruce slowly walked up to Selina’s ear and her lead forward. “What ever happen to Catwoman?” Bruce whispered.
“She is still around somewhere.” She whispered back. Bruce looked deep into Selina’s eyes.
“Can I buy you a drink?” Bruce asked. Selina gave a smile and the two headed for the bar. Bruce pulled out a seat for Selina at the bar and Selina sat down. Bruce placed himself on the stool beside Selina.
“I’ll have Raspberry Wine. And for my lady she’ll have?” Bruce told the bartender.
“ Um, Shirley-Temple.” Selina finished Bruce’s sentence. In a few moments the bartender was back with their drinks, Bruce paid for the drinks.
“So you have stayed out of the spot light.” Bruce whispered.
“I have learn from my mistakes.” Selina replied.
“Was I one of your mistakes?” Bruce asked still in a quite voice. For a moment Selina said nothing. Images of her love life with Bruce flashed through head.
“In some ways you were my biggest mistake but in other ways letting you go was my worst mistake.” Selina replied. Bruce slid his hand down Selina’s leg. Selina threw him a look.
“Just checking to see if you have a gun this party.” Bruce laughed. Selina did nothing in return.
“Bruce we can’t do this.” Selina said in a calm voice. Bruce threw a troubled look at Selina.
“Do what?” Bruce asked concerned. Selina started to cry again then stopped and whipped the tears away.
“This what we are doing right now. You’re acting like everything is ok but it isn’t. I’m Catwoman and you’re Batman we are enemies not lovers Bruce!” Selina said.
“Come home with me Selina. There has to be so good in you.” Bruce said.
“There is, but not the good you are looking for. I defend the little guys from people like you Bruce. I protect people from people like you and my boss Bruce. I speak for the person with no voice.”
“Wow, you are amazing!” Bruce said in a calm and sexy voice. “May I have this dance?” Bruce asked.
Selina stood up and smoothed her dress then offered Bruce a hand. Bruce swung into Selina’s arms and the two started to slow dance. Selina peered up to the ceiling. “Hmm, no mistletoe” Selina said. Bruce gave a small laugh. A person coming in through the entrance caught Bruce’s attention. Bruce pulled away from Selina and waved to the new comer and the woman headed for Bruce and Selina.
The woman was a tall beautiful redhead. It was Barbara. Barbara and Bruce hugged then smiled at each other.
“Oh, Selina! This is Barbara Gordon the police commissioners daughter.” Bruce introduced Barbara.
“Ah, nice to meet you.” Selina said to Barbara. The two girls shook hands.
“And who might you be?” Barbara asked Selina.
“I’m Selina Kyle. I am Chip’s secretary.” Selina replied.
“Oh Selina Kyle! Bruce talks about you a lot!” Barbara said.
“Does he now?” Selina asked laughing. Bruce could start to see that the two were already becoming friends.
“I’ll leave you two ladies alone.” Bruce said. “But Selina we aren’t done.” After that Bruce headed into the crowd.
Selina examined Barbara’s dress. Barbara was dressed in a pink strapped part dress with diamond earrings and pink high heals. “Nice outfit, Barbara!” Selina complemented.
“Thanks but you can call be Barb.” Barbara replied with a smile. “So let’s talk Bruce talk.” Barbara put out her hand to gesture to a cream colour loveseat. The two girls sat down on the loveseat and turned to face each other. “So what’s up with you and Bruce?”
Selina face soon turned red. “Oh nothing we are old friends. We dated back five years ago. Nothing really.” Selina answered.
“Oh come on I saw that twinkle in yours and his eyes. There is something there. Bruce is a great guy.” Barbara pushed the subject on.
“Ya he really is a good guy.” Selina said in a daze.
Chip walked up to a large podium and taped the microphone to gather everyone’s attention.
“My I have your attention?” Chip asked, “Tonight I am very happy to announce the grand opening of the New Gotham Ancient Museum. The museum will feature artifacts from all over the globe. All the money that is raised tonight will be going towards the Children Charity of Gotham.” Chip announced.
Chipped grabbed some scissors and walked over to the large silver staircase the lead into the main museum. Across the staircase was a red ribbon. Chip took a cutting pose for the photographers then cut the ribbon. Loud cheers erupted from the crowd. Everyone stood up and clapped. The media went crazy and ran towards Chip asking him a million questions at once. Selina gave a small laugh and sat back down.
“Hey do you wanna get out of here and get a burger?” Barbara asked.
“Sure! Why not?” Selina replied. The two girls grabbed their things and slipped out of the museum unnoticed.
Selina and Barbara walked down to the corner too a small burger shop called “Joe’s Fine Burgers”. Selina and Barbara entered the shop and peered around.
The shop was small with a booth to order and a couple of tables around the shop. Both girls got a burger with lettuce, tomato, cheese and ketchup with an Iced Tea. The two girls sat at a table beside one of the front bay windows.
“So your dad is Commissioner Gordon eh?” Selina asked eating her burger.
“Um, ya he is. I have always been daddy’s little girl. I never knew my mother very well. My father had tried his best to keep me out of the spotlight to protect me. He is a really good man at heart.” Barbara explained.
“He sounds like it. So what is Bruce’s connection to you?” Selina asked. For a few moments Barbara hesitated not knowing what to say.
“Um, he is a family, family friend. Yes he is a family friend. I might be getting a job at Wayne Enterprises after I get out of university.” Barbara said.
“What are you going to university for?” Selina asked munching on the last few bites of her burger.
“I’m taking computer sciences.” Barbara said with pride.
“Um, interesting. Listen I got to go but I would like to hook up with you some time. Go shopping or something.” Selina said.
“Ya, I would like that. I’ll call you. Alright?” Barbara asked taking her last bite.
“Sure. See ya around.” Selina got up and left a tip on the table and exited the store.
