Hmm... I guess now I better store them upright to prolong their shelf life, not forgetting the board as well. I never would have thought about this if I don't visit the website and to think I was wondering why they packaged the comics that way.
Still, thanks for sharing guys! |

You should always have one short box around so that if you don't have enough for a long box, they don't slip and slide all over the place....

I find that the shorter boxes are better suited. Most definitely use the acid free backing boards and the bags. make sure you get a good brand bag. You can feel the difference. The thinner the bag the more chemicals they use, and the worse they are for your comics. If you have any really expensive comics I might suggest getting some of the harder plastic protectors (you can usually find ads for them in the Overstreets Price Guide. Sometimes you can get then with binder holes to and keep them secure in a 3 ring binder!

3 ring binder?! OOH! That's just asking for trouble! Best to keep them in the boxes for long term safety! A box is harder to lose than the binder, that's how I used to keep mine years and years and years ago. Thanks again for throwing my Star Wars comics away, MOM! ![]() |

Wow... I never know there are so many things to consider when storing the comics. And I thought the plastic covering and the backing board would be enough... Seems like I've a lot to learn in this area.
I'll definitely be getting the box in future to store my issues. Since #75 of BoP is an extra size anniversary issue, I'll be taking extra care of it and these tips do come in handy just in time! Thanks for the info, Drayven and Doc! |

True panther some comic stores will provide you with the bags if you pre order your titles monthly with them. Mine gives me 10 fee bags and backing boards a month which is just enough for me!

Oh, you're lucky. My comic store won't even give me a bag or box dispite the fact that I have over $30 worth of comics coming in every month. Which reminds me...Meheheh...I have about three months worth to pick up. Not that you really needed to know that. lol. I've always spent the extra money on the boards and bags for ALL my comics anyway because you never know, the one comic you don't take care of will be the one that's worth alot in the end. ![]() Last edited by darkphoenix : 10-27-2004 at 05:50 PM. |
